We have serious snow. Nothing peeking through this. and we have that funny blinking when you forget and look right into a window, lol. Some of ya'll start that way earlier than this time of year, of course. I believe the forecast was for there to be snow at any time all day, past dark, so no idea what we'll end up with in accumulation. between 5 and 14 - who knows.
LadyM, I have a visual of astonished hair! A new meaning to the word brittle. Warm up! That shelf hanger is colorful and bright.
Ramblin', yes that is remarkable that you will have a snowfall - enjoy. Hoping lunch and dinner are easier moments.
Twins', I certainly remember when you and I (and Ramblin') were tall-dog people and the years of caring for such sweethearts. I have the impression of Millie that she is smaller.
Good job on your sprint, Nancy.
An accomplishment that took a lot of research is done. I made the order for the upcoming quilt's backing fabric and batting. Decided to go with a more meaningful choice, so I spent more, but researched a little more, too, and found a ten percent discount and free shipping. (I am so cheap.) Now, though, the backing will actually match the top in theme and color and I can even brag a bit in future, maybe, on the fabric being a nice reproduction.

I'm still trying to find a solution for getting rid of OneDrive trying to sync Dropbox files and making Dropbox unusable on this computer.
Dinner out tonight is on.
Harriet, yes, that is serious snow for sure. Another week of snowed in?
Yes, Millie is just under fifty pounds, but she still has that long-legged look and an athlete's body. Most of our dogs have been bigger - Muffin was nearly 100 lbs when we took her (when mother went into assisted living) and was so heavy she could barely walk. A lab/golden mix. She slimmed down a lot with us.
Icy hair, LadyM? Wow. Mine is just frizzing with static. Air is very dry and I use little, if any, conditioner, because my hair is fine. (I do add a spritz of a leave in conditioner this time of year, but it doesn't do that much for the static.)
Yes, I missed RR's report on Sweetie. Hoping for better meals later today.

I went to the store. I got wet cat food and soda for dh (still at a good price) plus a few other things. I brought it all home and crawled into bed with dh because he was sleeping soundly. After a while he got up and now he's snoring on the couch/sofa.
I forgot to bring in clean litter. I really need to do that.
(((RamblinRose))) and Sweetie. Please let us know how the rest of the day went.

Re: Simply Saturday PWYC
Sweetie slept sitting up for much of the day. At 11 he woke up and said … I’m hungry/
Made him a sandwich and potato salad and he ate it with no problem.
LadyM… I tried all sorts of things for Sweetie to make sure he put on new underware and sock for himself. Finally gave up and laid them out on his bathroom counter in the morning before he took his shower. I out his dirty clothes I his dirty clothes in hamper at night so he wouldn’t get confused
I fold his socks after I launder them, but have to separate them and leave them on his counter independently. Folded sock confused him.

Re: Simply Saturday PWYC
I am trying to keep DH independent as long as possible. He wants to do things and feels useful & accomplished when I can find things for him to do. I don't have high hopes for the visual shelves to help with underwear change, but there is a chance. DH soaks in bathtub every night before bed and he is putting the same underwear back on when he gets out of the tub. I am going to try putting his PJ's in the same shelf with the clean underwear so he is prompted to change. I don't know if it will work.
I recently bought a lightweight easy to operate battery powered vacuum for DH to use. He does enjoy doing it and it gives him an activity with a purpose. He has used it many times, but has now lost the ability to know how. Today I show him the off/on button, and he smiles and gets started. Today he used the vacuum in the same place....over and over......back and forth.....until the battery ran out. I didn't mention that he could have vacuumed other areas. I just thanked him for an outstanding job and being so helpful. The living rug is very clean now.
After the last memory loss episode, DH has lost the ability to fix him own plate of food. At first, I wasn't aware of this and wondered why he wasn't eating. When asked, he will say he isn't hungry but will eagerly eat anything if I put it in front of him. He always is grateful and raves how good it tastes.
Our temps won't get above freezing today but I'm still going outside. I remind myself of some studies showing doing cold plunge being good for the body. I pretend that walking in the cold is my version. It is as close to a cold plunge that I want to get!

Re: Simply Saturday PWYC
mom told me she will get herself out of bed-i wish she could- she also doesnt' want to do anything- to leave her alone - she is not thrilled with me right now. - it's alright.
I will have to get her out of bed and have her go to the bathroom/change her but I will give her some time.
I have been trying to help her get interest in things - she doesn't want to do anything right now - it will change again.
she watched us play Elfer Raus - she was my partner as the follow through is hard for her but she did understand the process last weekend. Today she said she wanted to watch and listen to us laughing. She did say when dd older won - "Winner winner chicken dinner" and smiled. funny.
d lady frozen hair - too funny!
((d lady))
your dh may be at the point where you have to go in there when he uses the bath and take out the old clothing and underwear and put out the new stuff. (last year I had to tell mom that I was throwing a load of laundry in because she did the same thing)
praying the shelf works! I am sure it comes and goes.
-it's wonderful that you are planning on things that he can do -
The way you work with your sweet dh is so respectful and helpful! That vacuuming really made your living room clean!
he is a good man!!! you are a good woman!!!! how lucky that the two of you found each other. praying his episodes are less and less - shorter times.
---walking outside is a cold plunge!!good for you!

Re: Simply Saturday PWYC
I understand about walking bring a cold plunge! Brrrr!
I had plenty outdoor activity when Dgd and I went to town.
There was something on the news the other day about a man who has jumped into Lake Michigan EVERY DAY since sometime in 2020. Maybe started when the Covid shutdown happened. Can you imagine??? I could never do that. I can’t even stand going into a really cold swimming pool in the middle of summer!

LucyL. Diane & Denmark does that cold plunge in the sea swimming with girl friends in winter bathing!
I cannot imagine that. But in the summer I do a quick cold rinse after my s2s.
I've been outside with out a coat on sun came out and it was nice.
I did a back yard walk about and scoop up another good use for a kids snow shovel and narrow rake.
That helped with my steps I'm very close to my goal for the day.
Got the meat in a smaller container and in the fridge.
Washed up the crock pot and got it put away.
Watched one episode as a reward.
