Oh Twins, I hope Millie is OK! How did you fare last night? Kitty has great suggestions.
Bama, I surely hope you get a nap or some downtime today.
Glad Fred's appointment went well, Kitty. WTG to dh for progress on his many coats! We have coat hooks by our door, a row of 5 double ones. In transition weather, we can have a LOT of coats hanging there. Right now, it's pretty sparse, just one (down) coat/ person.

Today: It is 7:30. I've weighed and am drinking coffee. I'm up a bit earlier bc I'm going to try WW again. It's in a town that was a 45 minute drive away last week. That means I need to be otd by 8:15 for the 9 a.m. meeting. Then, I'll go straight to K's house for my weekly get together with friends (S2, K, and J). I'll only be there a short time before I leave again at 11 to get my hair cut in another town. I'll come home for lunch and maybe a grocery order -- then, I'll be otd at 2:30 for my 2:45 Dr. appointment. This is a very scheduled day for me. Fortunately, I finished re-reading and editing exams last night and sent out the exit exam result email last night. No payroll today for me - I think. (It has a way of sneaking up on me. . . )

It is 24*F. At 7:30 a.m. 8-) It looks like this is the high for the day; temps will stay here throughout the day.

9 - 9:30 WW in town 45 minute drive away (with a.m. traffic)
10 - 11ish KS2J get together
11:30 - 12:15ish haircut in other town a 30 minute drive away
2:45 - 3:45 (guessing) Dr. appointment - orthopedic foot doc

Today's Main Goals
1. 9 - 9:30 WW (out 8:15 - 10:15 with driving to other town)
2. 10:15ish to 11 KS2J get together
3. 11:30 - 12:30ish Haircut in a different town (out 11 - 1ish with driving)
4. Get groceries - Kroger order? Or shopping in person?
5. 2:45 - 3:45ish Foot Dr. appointment (out 2:30 - 4ish with driving)
6. NY cards progress - put yesterday's cards in the mail; more ready
7. Writing time?
8. Dinner: shrimp fajitas, green salad
9. Garbage and recycling

Next:
- s2s and self care
- finish reclaiming kitchen
- out 8:15 - 10:15 (my estimate) WW meeting in other town

TaDas!

- coffee
- email deletions + weather website

kittykatt, so it's backyard animals this week?
Dogged, did you finish the Little Mole episode? I promise, it gets better, though you are right, no sugarcoating!
Twins, any news? I am hoping you were able to see a vet ASAP!

Home from work. I crashed yesterday and didn't get much done and procrastinated today so it's 6pm (I did get home at 5pm) and I don't have much to show for that! But there's another situation at work (the one from last week is kinda shoved under the rug and everybody walks around it) which meant I stayed an hour overtime (no, I will not get that compensated, but it's part of the whole package, just not very convenient right now). Hoping tomorrow I will be able to leave sooner.

TaDas
- morning madness
- day at work
- stopped by antiques shop - looking for that special something as an anniversary gift
- pick up DBD

ToDos

trissie antiques shops are lots of fun, aren't they?

I've been DC-ing in pantry for a while now... Coming up for air - and a coffee - then back at it. It's garbage day. Works out well.

Quick check-in. I have the casserole in the oven at 300 degrees. I have to figure out how long to leave it in covered, and then how long to have it uncovered for the cheese/bread croutons topping.

WTG on the casserole, Doggedly! My apologies for forgetting you earlier.
WTG on the pantry, kitkat!

I left the house at 8:25 a.m., a bit late but I wasn't too too late for the WW meeting. I got home from WW - KS2J get together - haircut in other town - back to K's house to pick up water bottle I'd left at about 1:30 pm. I've had lunch, cleaned up lunch, finished quick groc. list (Probably forgot something), and I'll be out the door in 5 minutes for the Dr. and then the grocery store. I think it's safe to say that I will spend more of the day out of the house than in it. . . Good thing the temps are mild!

I'm back, happily fed and very pleased with my sauce. A can of chickpeas is only two dollars so it's a very affordable protein and it doesn't require any preparation ahead of time before adding it to whatever I'm cooking, so it's an attractive alternative to meat.

I hope that Twins' Mom's dog is better today. Germane is strolling around as if last night never happened, so I'm relieved.

Good boy, Freddie. That was a nice break for you, Kittykatt. :)
And WTG Kittykatt on establishing boundaries, calmly and gently, before your DH retires and falls into the habit of issuing orders because he had underlings at work.
You too, Bama.

I had no idea that you felt that way about non-mammals. I'm glad that you spoke up, because I just love them (from a distance) and now know not to prattle on about them. Germane is fluffly and white and demands to be carried over water, so I feel safe prattling on about her. :)

helia, I hope that you get to all of your appointments on time, and that they go well.
I'm glad that you have a warm day for it.

Hi, L.Ann. I really must follow your good example and get back to doing my physio exercises. Between not needing to go to work and not walking Germane in the cold, it is too easy to not exercise at all.

That is so true, kitkat. Little dogs are nothing like the big dogs that I had in the past.
Woo hoo on getting the pantry done!

I did finish the Little Mole episode trissie, and I found it devastating. It might be that I happened across the one episode where the cartoonist had given up on his society. For those who haven't seen it: There are a mole, a rabbit, and a hedgehog who live in a beautiful forest. Loggers come and clear cut the whole thing. The terrified animals all jump into the rabbit's hole in a tree to hide. The lumberjack is kind enough to not kill them, but still cuts down their tree to just above the rabbit's home. The camera pans around this devastated landscape, and the three animals huddled together on the stump. A helicopter arrives and government officials do a self-celebration opening ceremony. They hear the sobbing animals and write out a paper and each of them put their department's seal on it. And they go on celebrating, get back in the helicopter, and leave. Next comes the construction equipment that pulls up stumps and churns the soil. The animals manage to stop it by waving the paper at the men, but they just leave the one stump and destroy everything around them. So they're worse off. Then more construction equipment arrives, they wave the paper, and this guy calls over a shovel to scoop their stump right out of the ground, with its roots, and drives it right into the city. So the animals still have one of their homes, but they have lost their land completely. Each official passes them up to another higher official who doesn't want to help until they see the paper with the seals. Then they try to help the animals, but they almost always leave them worse off. At best, no better off. The next one calls in someone to cut the roots off of their stump, so there is no chance of planting in another forest, then they paint it so it looks like a drum, not a stump, and the next one just takes it so the animals have literally nothing left of their former lives. They give them an apartment, and it's hard to describe how awful it was. They put in astroturf or green carpet, painted a mural and filled it with inflatable trees. The confused animals were treating it like a bouncy castle until someone arrives with food and they blow it all up with a cork screw. They escape into the city, and they change from being passive recipients to active actors. The rabbit survives a dog attack by wearing the dog out. They try to solve pollution by stealing sausages and stuffing them into cars' tail pipes. They end up on a roof and flag down some swans who fly them away, and the animals throw away the paper. We have to hope that the swans bring them to another forest that doesn't get cut down, but the pattern has been that everyone who tries to help the animals leaves them worse off or no better, so we don't have high hopes.
I came away feeling like I had been reading Margaret Atwood. I'm picturing little children laughing at the bouncy castle while their weeping mother behind them is gulping anti-depressants.

Tuesday
Cleaned up after dog
Breakfast for Germane.

Poured on some parmesan
Put casserole in oven
Looked up how long to leave it
Spiffed self
Wrestled off bandaid and put on a coat of liquid bandage
