helia, things are OK-ish. I still don't really foresee this as long-term viable, but I am too busy to look for another position and quite frankly, the pay is really good, the hours and flexibility would be hard to match, so I am not doing anything about it.

It's 3:50. Way past the time I wanted to stop working, but there were things which really needed to be done today. House was OK before the kids got in, not so much anymore, but that's life. I am really looking forward to missing the house being messed up all the time when kids move out!

Hi, L.Ann.

Oh, dear on the Dreaded Phone Call, Bama.

I am having a weird day. It's almost 11:30 and I am waiting for Germane to wake up so that I can give her her heart pill, after which she will have to wait another hour before she's able to eat anything. I am really not happy. The vet and I had quite a back and forth about what size of pill I can realistically get Germane to take, and he showed me the tiny appetite stimulant pills, which I agreed she would eat, but he never showed me the heart pills. They are capsules, sized for humans. Germane is seven pounds. There's no way that I could get Germane to eat a big enough piece of cheddar to hide that pill in, so I cut the middle out of a piece of the bread that I made last night and squeezed it down around the capsule and buttered it. Now it's waiting on the counter waiting for Germane to wake up.

Hi Dogged Is all the ice gone? That is always more scary than a bit of snow...

I just had my pup out and was going to sit with a cup of coffee but... she has other plans.
I think the snow is appealing to her. (Not so much to me)
My plan is to alternate between laundry room and other mundane tasks.

I had a great coupon run. I got 2 free lotions at Bath and Body, a birthday card for my sister at Hallmark for 87 cents, and $50 of toiletries for the free food pantry for $6 ( plus I got $10 of coupons for later). Plus I was tired of doing stuff in my house!

kitkat, I just missed you in the laundry room!
Dogged, is the heart pill the kind of capsule you could empty?? If so, you could just transfer the contents into a syringe (I recommend using a cope made from a piece of paper), ad some water (you draw water from a spoon or something) and then squeeze the whole thing into Germane's mouth (from the side, behind the teeth). Sounds complicated, but it's pretty easy. Yes, I'm a complete pro when feeding medication to uncooperating subjects

Round 2

Yes, kitkat, the sidewalks were back to bare concrete when I went to the animnal hospital yesterday. The ice is all on my car, LOL.

That was an excellent haul, L.Ann.

So far so good, trissie. Germane extracted the pill from the bread and threw it on the floor, but buried in a glob of peanut butter, the pill went down. I double checked that the peanut butter wasn't sweetened with xylitol or "birch sugar".
Now we're just waiting for her hour to be over so that I can feed her.

That was me yesterday: don't know what I spent the last hour working on, but I know that I was working, LOL.

In Round 2 I managed to water all the main floor plants, had some fruit, played "Find It" with pup - which made her happy as it involves food.
