Sitting in the. Doctor exam room with ds17. He is here for peridonal cyst followup but also noted that is lost 4lb since last Monday. That makes 16lbs lost since starting ozempic 6 weeks ago.

Dh is in the waiting room by himself. I wonder if I should go check on him?

doing a round robin Monday trash and donation look out. dining room - got rid of some of mom's puzzles - she does the 9 piece ones but nothing else
got rid of the really simple ones bc she finds them boring.
emptied the one pot of aloe that didn't do well bc I let it dry out too many times for the soil to be viable.
flip flopped laundry

mom is still asleep - content type sleep but I did get her meds in her.
I know this will back fire but she won't get up.
at noon I will have to make her get up or she will be up all night. last night she tried to get out of bed. we may have to start using the alarm pads just in case.

Yes, Costumelady, spring break has sprung here, and DangerBoy, my oldest grandson, has already visited us from college on his break home. Warm hearts here. :D We told him to visit about 20 more times during his week off, lol. I'm thinking we should call and invite ourselves out to a meal with whomever, among he and his brothers, could join.

Also the 78 weather here, with driving rain during the night, and now I find out that I had a package delivered into (I hope into) our mailbox last evening after dark. Sigh. HRH will check on that. Bottle of supplements, so hopefully even if the package is doused the contents will be okay... .. we'll see.

blessed, you can only do as much as you can do. So glad you didn't try to handle that trip yourself. Dusty Miller is a charming little (sometimes little) contrast for more colorful annuals - I hope the seedlings grow beautifully for you.

Today, I am thinking, begins a sort of Anniversary Week for us, since a year ago this was a cheery posting week, with SHEforums posters introducing themselves. (editing because the cake I pictured turned out to be soup, I think. please excuse my poor hostessing)

Aaannnddd.... Sad to report that the recipe that promised to replicate the Har dee's (or Star's restaurant in other regions) mushroom sauce was disappointing. With a lot of mayo and also mustard, it was not only yellow rather than brown visually, it was much too spicy/mustardy. I think I can see how to make it better, with more Worcestershire and less of the other condiments, and the method of first sauteing thinly sliced brown button mushrooms in butter works well. It's a journey, lol.

DS17 is clothes shopping with friend. He is sending me pictures of clothes to approve purchase. I wish clothes shopping with DD14 was this easy!

I have 15 minutes before leaving again for next appointment.

have you tried using dried mushrooms soaked in hot water and use that water to add a mushroomy taste - I use the real mushrooms and also use the dehydrated mushrooms and liquid. sometimes just the liquid to add that deep flavor. I know that I have heard people use canned golden onion soup - I forgot where I saw the recipe.

how nice to have your sweet grandson (college age still amazes me) visiting you.
wow 78 - wonderful - have a wonderful day!

I saw dusty miller intermixed with white begonias (shaded area) and thought it was so pretty - I just didn't have the heart to buy those for a "trial" project.

happy anniversary week to all of you!!!!

d lady - wouldn't it be wonderful to go "girl" shopping and it be so easy!
hope you have a nice "next" appointment

Another waiting room. Dd14 always looks forward to her hour long appt with truated counselor. I have no clue what they discuss but she walks out of the appt confident and happy.

Next up is pharmacy and shopping. I hope to get through that in under an hour. Allowing an hour drive home and unloading. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Three more hours and I'll be done and ready to focus on home things

While driving 85mph I received phone call to schedule ds17 with surgeon. It wasn't the perfect timing but we got it done.

I sure would have loved to see the snow that was just coming down back in January. I even decided to skip my workout and pretend I'm snowed in. The fire is going, temp outside 31 and snow showers. Of course, it's been so warm here nothing will stick to the ground, but it's beautiful.

I did a dive into Newspapers.com looking for family stuff for my writing. Went down the rabbit hole trying to find the very early marriage of my deceased uncle. Apparently it was a family secret - his son didn't know. I only know because I found a photo once and I knew it was him, but didn't recognize the woman - and it was his first wife. Mother only told me her first name - Gloria - so I've been trying to find who she was. The divorce notice in the paper lists her as "Gloria Lee" with uncle's surname, and I can't find a Gloria Lee. Perhaps Lee was a middle name? So I'll probably want to go look at those records at the courthouse.

I feel sheepish about skipping workout now but snow was coming down so hard earlier. I'm making chili for our supper tonight - something warm for the tummy.
