I'm a glad I got a pen pal letter off in the mail today.
Yea for that success.
I went out and checked the grass and it's dry enough to mow but it's cold and to breezy.
So that will wait. I see the sun is peeking out now. Yea!

Waiting on DS17 to answer my text if this dog bed would be okay for Sam. Yesterday DS17 wanted to buy an $80 dog bed for Sam at the pet store. I agreed to buy one but thought that was too much markup and thought we could get better deal online. Negotiating with teens is never ending part of my life.

Yes, Mystery, you got the acronym. Been texting with registrar about it - she's never seen one that asked for additional documentation on a generation that appeared to have been proven already. The first AIR was on generation 7, now they're asking about generation 9! Anyway, I've researched this family long nearly long enough to write a family chart.

Dh came in from bowling complaining about the Roomba. Seems like we go through that every week.

Wow!! It went from winter to summer over night here. We will be having rain storms here tonight and tomorrow. It was way too hot for my winter coat that I wore when I left the house earlier. The coat can came back tomorrow or the next day.

I dealt with some errands this afternoon and now I'm home. PSW came while I was out. (I was local just in case dh decided I was needed at home.) When I got home just now he said "some woman came over and..." Of course he was being silly, so we both laughed. I really wanted him to at least go outside today, but he hasn't so far.

switching from winter to summer mode is happening here too. I noticed it felt warm so looked at the temperature = 87F inside the house! So the HVAC unit was once again switched from heat to cool mode. We are supposed to get down to 37F next weekend so will probably need to switch the HVAC back to heat mode one more time.

I am thinking about restarting the 3'x3' squares declutter and cleaning process again. it is an easy way to make continual progress even on days when life is busy. On super busy days, I can just do a 3'x3' area of open floor. The only downside to this way of decluttering/deep cleaning is the necessity of keeping track of progress. Hum....What if I put a piece of blue painter tape on the floor marking where I am in the process. Maybe that is worth a try.......

I got 1/2 of the back yard mowed and it will not start now. Dang!
So I've checked stuff I thought might be a problem with no luck.

Had a bit to eat.
Rested a bit.
Knitted a few more rows.

Sun is out and it's warmer.
Walked

Been lawn mower shopping found what I want for make and model.
Now to try to get one in town in stock, hoping it will come assembled so I do not have to put it together.
I sent dson a pick of the one I like found on line.

Got my body worked on - feel like I was a mess. Mostly hips, glutes, neck straightened out, I hope.

Back home I walked dMillie, and stopped off for wine with dfriend M. Still mourning Ruby but M took care of Milly last Friday for dh - she said they snuggled some and it was bittersweet.

Took meat loaf out of oven late in the day but going into the oven it will thaw I believe.


Another HOA issue - "Grounds" guy insisted we didn't need to drain pipes in the HOA cabana by the pool. Water went back on today and guess what? Leaks. I'm just the treasurer, not my issue.

I did restart my declutter/deep cleaning effort by doing 3x3' area. Because today has been busy with being outside of the house for several hours, I decided to pick an easy area in the middle of the wall where there is not any furniture (aka no decluttering needed). I grabbed a yard stick (3' meaurement) and a roll of blue tape. I put down a small piece of blue tape on the floor in each corner of that 3' square. What I didn't consider the amount of deep cleaning would be needed because that area includes 1 of the 3 exits to the back yard. Deep cleaning....detail cleaning both sides of 2 doors with 14 panes of glass and dividers took way more time than I expected. I got DH involved so we could be cleaning the window panes on both side at the same time and we could immediately correct any streaks or spots. That speed up the process immensely.
After we finished DH said cleaning like this is rewarding. It is nice to step back and look at the results. Overall, it didn't take that long - approx 30 minutes x 2 people so about an hour of elbow grease scrubbing and polishing.
In case I am making it sound like we did something big and amazing....remember this was only a 3'x3' area.
It is a start.

Nancy, it's always good to keep tabs on how much services are getting for the work we do around our homes. We need to know the facts on what our homegrown efforts are contributing. My ds has limited us in the amount we are paying our grandson to mow here, and I worry about that because if the idea is that he is saving up for any large purchase at all, it will take the rest of his life at this rate. Others get a lot more.

Costumelady, it's interesting to hear that you are consulting with a landscape pro. Hoping you get a good plan and maybe find it worthwhile to do.

LadyM, that dog bed looks so neat and self-contained, not too difficult (for your ds) to move. Good job on the 3 foot by 3 foot area. No, not surprised at all that it can be time consuming.

Pencil Day - ✍
Took a notebook today and I was able to sketch out some quilting designs while still feeling okay. Have decided on a design for a couple blocks. Have to be simple, but there are some gentle curves I can get the machine to do.

Here I am, late as usual, but definitely not by choice tonight! This is the first chance I have had to sit down at the computer and actually say hello to all of you!
This has been a day and a half!
* up, s2s, stopped at florist before going to church for Holy Week service -- ordered plant for the funeral service of man I mentioned in J&C --
* church, helped in kitchen, ate lunch there
-- dmom called and would have liked for me to meet her at the doctor's office to help with her walker. sigh. I hated that I couldn't be two places at once but I had to do school pick up. She said she would be fine.

-- she was afraid she had offended ME -- she is worried about a grandchild who may be autistic

* took dgrands to Sonic for snacks

* ddil, dgs, and I went to Scholars' Bowl match at another county school
-- ds took dgd to her ballgame at yet another town in the county
-- Nana-brag -- we won by a BIG margin and dgs was the top scorer. He had to request a new pencil during the match because his lead broke. The other sponsor had provided pencils for everyone.

There will probably be a lot of "file it and forget it" this week because of morning and evening commitments. I won't have to be at church early tomorrow, however -- the other Sunday School class is providing lunch. Today was my class, and I texted my dfriend who was expecting me to be in the service -- her preacher was giving the message today -- so I sent her a text and said, "I'm here. I'm in the kitchen. Stay for lunch." She said she almost LOL when she saw that; she wished she could tell her dmom, "You won't believe this, but Lucy is in the kitchen!" She said her mom would have been so proud of me. LOL!!! Her mom was always the church hostess, you know, the one who knew exactly how many desserts were needed and how many drinks, etc, and was able to organize everyone for the meals. Every chuch has one -- LadyM may be the one at her church -- but I told my friend, I am just doing what R tells me to do.

I've been switching back and forth with AC and heat also. This time of year is very confusing for the weather. Today was a really nice day.

Nancy -- I am impressed that you would consider that you might have to assemble a lawn mower. You go, girl. (But I hope you don't have to!)

Mystery -- so glad to hear the insurance issue is resolved for your dd. My ds' family has been on a rollercoaster of insurance this year too. Family plan for dd's work insurance went sky high. She dropped the family, dgrands went on state provided plan (very similar to Medicaid) and ds found an individual plan on the market place. But there were a few weeks in between switch over that ddil told them, "no one can get sick until ___!"

I was so glad to see that LordM and Cathy's dh both seemed to have good days. (((HUGS))) for you both!

Twins, I am so glad that the cabana is not your issue! That is so aggravating, when someone who is supposed to know advises something that obviously doesn't work out!

Well, the washer will be spinning out soon and I'll need to take care of this load. I am not going to start another one because I am worn out.
