Sounds like a lovely day yesterday, Kitty. Enjoy your walk in the park by the stream today! That sounds like a wonderful walking route.
Sleep well and see you soon, Doggedly. Your house probably smells great by now - fresh bread!

I'm up early for me. I'm leaving in 10 minutes to pick up MM and take her to the airport. It is currently 21F (-6.1C) with 14F (-10C) with windchill. It looks like we're expected to get up to 41F today. Sunshine will hopefully make this a pretty day. I didn't jog yesterday, so I'm hoping to get to that this afternoon.

Yesterday was eaten up by a lot of payroll, grading, prep, teaching, working on an exam for exam prep that we technically aren't supposed to do but teacher LH was feeling overwhelmed. This is support for her. Then, I discovered a weighting error/ inconsistency on this exam -- and that caused a lot of communication and strategies. Dh and I did have a zoom call in the evening with ds + F. Baby I was there for part of it. She's got the cutest chubby cheeks ever!

Our university's basketball team won the national championship last night! We didn't watch it but I checked this morning. Some people will be very happy!

Today, I have 3 events on my calendar: 1. Take MM to the airport - pick her up at 7:15. I should be home around 8:15. 2. KS2J get together - I think this is happening after 10 a.m.? at J's home. 3. Hosting T dinner -We're just going to serve Easter dinner leftovers, so no need to cook. There's a chance it won't happen; if dd30 can't make it, then we'll cancel. We don't do T dinner with just M, our housemate.

Other things to do today: Jog, get groceries, get clean sheets on the bed, and lots of progress on exam prep. And refill the bird feeder for the poor starving birds. It's completely empty.

Next:
- pick up MM
- drive her to the airport
- drive home

TaDas
- up; weighed self -- egads!
- email deletions + weather website
- coffee

☀️Good morning!
My goodness, it’s only 6am here and we are on the 2nd page, looks like a productive day.

Kitty, thanks for the start. Sounds like you have a scenic area nice for walking.

Helia, wtg putting out those work fires. Aw, I’m so happy you got to chat with baby I and her parents.

Dogged, I would love to wake up to the smell of baking bread. Hope the power being out doesn’t inconvenience you too much.

Gma, love the shem. Enjoy your book.

Kitkat, I don’t know who thought up these traditions of throwing things at women or hitting them with objects but I’m thankful I don’t meet the requirements lol.

I woke at 4 and let the dogs out, played my games, been piddling online, it doesn’t look like I’m going back to sleep so I think I will make a cup of coffee and sit outside with the pups to watch the sun come up.

Hi, all. Typing on my phone, so limited updates. Boy, those guys didn't waste any time in shutting off the power. I got up at 8:30 to take out the bread, start the coffee, and unplug everything, and the power went out while I was still unplugging everything. So I guess they're serious about being down all day. No worries, I have bread, coffee, my phone with internet and a weird little emergency radio that can't find CBC Radio One, but found their classical music station. 😀

Wishing you all a pleasant and productive day!

I don't really like your first SHEM, kittykatt! What do you mean, I actually have to get started to get something done? :-)
helia, wow, that's kinda difficult to dress properly with this kind of weather! Says the woman who needed a heavy coat due to it being 2C in the morning and a sunhat due to it being 19C in the afternoon!
Bama, here, the water, perfume and other liquids are a women's weapon for carolling after noon! But for some reason that is even less popular :-)
Dogged, will the building be still heated without electricity?
hi kitkat and L.Ann! you both posted while I was writing this!

Finally home. Just one of those days. Due to DH's cold (and terrible snoring, I didn't sleep much and gave up at 5pm. Work was OK, meetings and some research; after work I had to go pick up DS14's prescription. I kinda miscalculated - I thought the prescription was good till Wednesday, but it was only good till tonight, so I had to go to one of the three pharmacies in Prague which had both the items in sufficient quality (normally, I would have it delivered to the closest one, but it wouldn't be guaranteed to come today, and tomorrow the prescription would not go through). My fault, but I only checked Thursday evening and everything was closed till this morning. Oh well, it should teach me a lesson! We don't really need those meds yet, but the doctor gave me a prescription during our last visit, so it wasn't a high priority till it suddenly was.
I need to get started again...

TaDas

- pick up DS14's prescription
- Tesco
- pick up DBD from school
- recharge a bit
- unload DW

ToDos

No, trissie, I think that they are relying on the surface to volume ratio for the building to slow heatloss. I was surprised at how fast the hot water disappeared. So far so good. I have been listening to the radio wrapped up in blankets and am comfortable that way. :)

According to google it should work, Bama. We had the really weird 2 and a half to three weeks where everything was covered with a snow/ice mix that was like concrete so that could have impacted things too. I think I am going to split two of the areas and then see how that goes next year before I do all of them.
