So very sorry I had date wrong Lucy. I was thinking it was the same day as the Yartzeit of my original issue wrist, i.e, the day I feel two years ago. We were at a house last night that had a sunken living and gives me the willies being around it, thinking I'll go off.

Effective morning: Body work, post office (HOA box, and receipt for mailing for tax check), drugstore, bank, washed car and gassed up the car. Of course, it's not morning anymore. Need to finish a.m. routine - I'm just now eating the last of my brunch.

LadyM, how is dh today? Does he remember hospital? You have great kids to step up and deal with things at home. I'm glad you're able to enjoy ordinary life today.

Streaming? I have no idea. I only see what dh has on the TV - it's been so long since I've handled the remote that I don't care to watch. Sometimes a show or series sounds interesting tho....

Hip pain here too, Nancy. Stretching works and I should do it more often.

Mystery, you read my mind about things blooming. Very last of narcissus across the way but irises are blooming. They are a deep purple but more of the purple/red/maroon. Neighbor just up the street has lavender irises. Also I noticed that one neighbor has beautiful peonies budding out. And our own azaleas are perhaps at their peak and are a lovely coral.

Hoping Harriet can pop back in.

Dh's friend brought my car back. Dh went and picked up the tires and brought them back. Now dh is cutting the grass!! It's mid APRIL. Nobody else in the area has cut their grass yet. It's too early.

So I polished off the glass top patio table and I will be outside reading if anyone wants me. I went to the store earlier an there were people wearing shorts. Not a winter coat in sight.

(((LadyM))) Thank you -- and I am sooo glad you are back home doing normal things!!!

I have a load of towels in the washer and I have also had my hands in soapy dish water!
Watered the plants
Made a Walmart order -- but decided I do not want to pick it up until I can park in the carport again -- expecting that by Thursday, at least. I ordered some concrete pavers to put under that dish pole, so maybe the yard man will not decapitate himself. :!: He is 87 years old. DDIL said if he has not run over my little trees in the tomato cages, he is not going to run over a satellite dish.
I'm d2s and have done my Bible reading.
Talked to ds on the phone.

Ballgame tonight.
I need to put the towels in the dryer.
I think I will drive over to Next Town and return the shoes I decided not to keep. I need to stop at the drug store here in town, and go to the post office.
Tomorrow is another day.

LadyM, how is dh today? Does he remember hospital?
His short term memory hasn't returned like it normally does. He doesn't remember much that has happened recently. He does remember some people & events from over 20+ years ago. However, he still can't name our 6 grandkids yet. I don't know if this is his new normal or just needs time to recover. This morning random things....
** he stood in the middle of the road while watching me walk. Thankfully we live on a quiet street without much traffic. A neighbor moved DH to the side of the road when the trash truck came.
** When we pulled into our driveway after taking DD14 to school, he said "We have company! Whose pickup is that? " He was referring to a pickup we bought in December 2025. He has no memory of that vehicle.
** He put a old flip phone & case on his belt this morning. I didn't bother telling him that it doesn't work. However, i did get him to take his PJ top off (that was neatly tucked into his jeans) and put on a daytime shirt.
** He stood at the pasture fence this morning giving hand directions to guide the driver backing up a 40' cattle trailer to unload bulls. DH wasn't aware the driver wasn't following his directions, but he seemed happy to be giving the hand signals anyway. When DS17 came home for lunch, DH told him "We got 5 more bulls unloaded into the pasture this morning" as if he was part of that effort. :)

Progress from yesterday....
** he can use the remote to turn the TV on and select a channel now. He doesn't watch it or turn the sound on, but it seems to make him happy just to have something on the tv screen.
** He can read a book for a few minutes.
** He has started washing dishes again. That is an easy task that he enjoys doing
He thanks me about every hour for any little thing.

Thinking of each one of you today. Many reasons for each of us to be thankful for the lives of our loved ones, past and present, and in atlantic flyer's case most immediately, one who is on the way.

Wondering about Costumelady's son's consideration of the property he had chosen, and her travel.

This was a successful day. Dr spent so long typing on the computer before looking at me (and apologizing - it seems that for insurance purposes, a person's two eyes are two completely different operations and decisions, so each requires an independent long explanation of why needed). So, because of info nurse had already gathered with testing, and his previous exams, he has typed up a plan and feels confident of my next operation.

Then he examined my eye. He said, "I hate to brag on my own work, but you are beautiful!" ( :) ) Healing just right (thanks in no small part to a persnickety, nagging spouse) and vision markedly improved, even though I will always have my central cloud in this eye, my unique little mischief-maker.

I couldn't have seen anything on the shelves - I couldn't have seen the shelves. So, any errands that required going into places had to be put on hold. Bleariness is much better now. I am a little concerned about not caring for my plants purchased Sunday afternoon, but have to trust they were well cared for until now and won't be stressed.

Expecting ds' family to drop by. We'll have to hear all about their happy fishing trip.
