Oh, Kittykatt, you have opened with my favorite hen this morning. I have reared both the Silver Laced Wyandotte you pictured, and the Black Wyandotte. That one has the most beautiful pure black feathering, called "beetle green" sometimes, because across the back in the sunshine it looks like the dark neon color of some beetles that show up in summer. I feel kind of bad saying this is my favorite, because it's a close call, but for looks especially, these are wonderful. Can take the cold because their little comb doesn't freeze easily, so they are hardy, calm as can be. I don't think of them as a Sebright, because they are so plump and stocky, so you taught me something. Here there are many more Sebright Bantams, which my dear aunt used to keep.
A grocery order arrived this a.m. in the dark, so I've been busy greeting that nice fellow and putting all away.
Hopefully, there are errands in my future early enough today to stay cool-ish.
I should also follow Doggedly into the laundry tasks.
Yesterday was a very good appt and my eye was in good shape.
