Nist got back from Sweeties Dr appointment. He doesn’t think Sweetie has Parkinson’s so that’s a relief. Sweetie's prostrate reading is high so the Dr wants to read do that test in a month. Sweeties father had prostrate cancer so I’m glad we had that checked

Twins… my DAR application was submitted 5 weeks ago so I am hoping to be approved soon.

We talked about spending a few days at the beach next week but I can tell Sweetie is getting anxious abt it so I nixed the idea.

Waiting for the new pool service to show up.. still have laundry to do some to fold. It may wait cause I don’t feel like doing it

DS17 called to tell me his good news. His voice was shaking with excitement. He was super happy to get the biggest weekly paycheck he has ever earned. He worked on a project last week at work that was challenging and they gave him a bonus that doubled his normal pay.

DGS28 sat and talked for over an hour catching us up on his life. He quit his job of 3 years over a personality conflict with his boss and then got a different job at comparable pay within 24 hours. DGS28 has watched DD49 change jobs frequently over the years so he knew exactly what to do to become employed again.

Life with DH. He wants to mow so started searching for the battery mower that he uses on the front yard. After 10 minutes or so he hadn't started mowing so I went looking for him. He can't find the mower anywhere.
DS17 called and I asked him "Do you know where the green mower is?"
DH heard me asking and said "I thought my mower was red. I put the green mower in the corner of the shop. I didn't know that my mower was green."
I love easy to solve issues.

The local BBQ place that is only open on Friday is cooking for the family today. I'm continuing to eat my soft foods. My jaw pain has disappeared but i want to give it another day or so of rest before I return to normal chewing.

Congratulations to Twins and BWTG to LadyM's DS17!

I have not had a very productive day. I stayed up too late last night and couldn't get up this morning. I should have just bumped the alarm an hour later or so; I wouldn't have gotten out of bed any later, and I would have gotten more sleep. Instead, I spent the morning dragging, needing that sleep. I would say "live and learn," but I've done this before, so clearly I haven't learned.

I've gotten some dishes done, but that's about it. I'm going to have to pick DH up from school at some point this afternoon. I'm not sure when; I think he estimated about 3:30. I hope that's after the usual end-of-day traffic has cleared out; if not, I may make him wait. The school is in the city and has nearly 1,500 students, probably most of whom drive or are picked up by car. The traffic can be crazy. Just got a text from him saying he's on his way back, but it's not clear when I should meet him. Sigh.

I should go do something before I have to leave. Laundry, maybe? I don't know. I really don't like being on a tentative schedule. He hasn't answered my reply requesting specifics, so I haven't a clue, and now I'm going to have to keep an eye on my phone. Well, if he wants me to meet the bus, he's out of luck -- I'd have to leave now. But if I remember correctly, he's got paperwork he wants to get done before the weekend. Ah, well. I hope you are all having a better day.

Well I planted the seeds and I have a wheel barrow on back deck to dump all of my containers into and add dirt and remix and refill so they are ready for the seedlings when I return. Dh woke and all I said was, do you think the wheelbarrow would fit through sliding door? Next thing I knew I had a wheelbarrow. I planted 98 little seed pots and a big pot of lettuce and a big pot of spinach. We will most likely buy tomatoes though I am trying to grow cherry ones from seed. I am also attempting to grow roses like the ones they had in England. I am not really a green thumb at all. I have managed not to kill 2 aloes and 1 jade. Our container garden last year was kept alive by the guys. I should have planted these seed several weeks ago but I hope they have sprouted upon my return.

Now time for the bills, I felt obligated to do the seedlings when he brought me the wheelbarrow to mix the dirt in, I have more to mix, I read that I should dump my old containers - pull out obvious root trash and the too many rocks my kids used and mix in more fresh soil and stir it and then repot. The guys also want to get some strawberry plants, we shall see. I plan to replant the roses into front garden and I will need more in my raised garden I am trying to get built. They just won't send me an estimate. I like what they told me they could do but they have never replied so I don't know how much it is. These roses smell so amazing.

We have a show to go see at 7:30 tonight and tomorrow night as well.

I am declaring my 2026 summer garden 99% planted. I will be tucking various seeds into nooks and crannies all through the year. I tend to continually plants beets, radishes, pak choy & mustard seeds so there are always some at various stage of growing & ready to harvest.
As usual I have overplanted the space in the 11 raised beds, but I tried to resist as much as I could. I need to leave 3' area around each tomato & pepper plants, but that empty space tempts me. There is an abundance of flowers planted in that space, but they are tiny right now so don't look like much. I must resist adding more and utilize patience in giving them time to fill up that empty space.
This year the vegetables growing are asparagus, tomato, peppers, cucumbers, sweet potatoes, russet potatoes, onions, garlic, beets, radishes, strawberries, basil, mint, and cauliflower. I only grow things that I like to eat. Last year records showed over 2000 vegetables harvested. Will this year garden produce similarly? The unknown is part of the fun.

I have mowed & cleaned under the mower deck - after watching a movie.
My phone and mower battery are both charging.
I rested a bit after to recharge as well.
I hydrated.

Got a vid. of my mower & yard have to schedule it still.
So glad it's dry enough to mow and the sun came out for that and it was the
perfect weather so glad I did not need a coat or hoodie!

I think I said earlier this week that all the neighbours would hate dh for cutting the grass so early. The house across the way (which is currently empty while it's for sale) got cut yesterday or the day before. Now the guy right next door beside us is cutting his. All 3 on riding mowers.

It's a wonderfully sunny afternoon here.

Lots of outdoor considerations going on here today.

We have made the hardware-store type purchases needed. Connectors, "O" rings, irrigation hose. A new handheld mattock tool.

I almost sold my truck to ds' family, even though it would be a hard thing to part with. But ddil wisely says it is not ideal for them as they look toward driving-permit time for dgsW in the not-too-distant future. She worries that it's too big/long a wheelbase, and cumbersome for an inexperienced teen who'd be trying to navigate tight parking lots, etc. She says she is thinking of a small size pickup for their next purchase.

We paid dgsW $40 to wash and detail the truck, though. And along with his dad, to fix one of the back doors so that it opens and closes normally now - at least temporarily, we'll see if it lasts.

HRH started planning out the irrigation with the children today, but they had youth doings tonight so will have to get to it later. DgdC has picked out her favorite plants.

I placed a curbside order to be picked up tomorrow. DS17 is going to be in the city tomorrow morning and has agreed to pick it up. I was intending to only order fresh fruit but somehow it ended up being over $200 of groceries. Strange how that can happen without much effort.

It is rattlesnake festival weekend. It is a popular event that draws thousands. DS17 and DGF will most likely attend all 3 nights. DD14 has no interest in it. Over the years I have attended the festival many times, but don't have any desire to attend this year.
