Hi Atlantic Flyer!! Thank you for starting us off this morning!!

I am shocked that I slept for 7 hours last night. I had a long nap in the afternoon as well. The morning nap was very short. I had no energy yesterday at all.

One cat is outside right now. As soon as I hit submit I will go open the door. She will most likely run right in at full speed and then come to a complete stop after she gets through the door.

Good morning, Canada! :D Thank you for starting us off on Finally Friday.

See, Cathy, I told you so - you needed a relaxed day yesterday and it was probably good for you. (I have no idea - pay me no attention,) Smiling at image of your cat sliding pell-mell into the house and stopping.

Good job on the automotive upkeep front, atlantic flyer.

My night was marked by an extraordinary leg cramp. Speculating there was lots of walking in the heat yesterday??? Maybe without hydrating enough? Who knows. But this a.m. you'd think it never happened.

Harriet my cats are like airplanes. I open the back door, they come running like race horses and the back hall is the landing strip and they have completely stopped by the time they get to the end of the hall.

PSW just called. Time to go wake up dh.

Good morning

AF - Thank you for starting us today. You had a productive start to your day. YGG!
what challenged you?
Hum...so many things challenge me. Being consistent with the small daily doings is one of my biggest challenges. I can easily become fascinated with something and give it my complete focus. Time seems to evaporate.

It has been 5 days since Dh temporary amnesia episode. I am slowly coming to grips with the very real fact that he isn't recovering like before. He still can't name our 6 grandchildren. He asks me how many children does DS52 have because he doesn't remember. He will repeatedly ask me the same question multiple times a day. Sometimes within 10 minutes. He has lost the ability to go into the convenience store and get his daily coffee and cookie by himself. He doesn't remember where the coffee cups are, etc. I have shown him where the cups are everyday this week, but he doesn't remember the next day.
What he hasn't lost - his outgoing personality that greets and talks to everyone...even though he might not know who they are. His respect and love for me. He is happy, kind, and willing to do anything I ask.

DGS28 is coming to see us today. I typically do a big birthday meal for him, but I don't think I can manage that this year. I'll give him a birthday card with some cash in it and call it good enough. I'm doing the best I can with the situation right now.
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

I like Finally Friday because my DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) supplemental App that was received by them in March 2024 is FINALLY verified! And it's there on the DAR website already! I can order the ancestor pin for my direct paternal ancestor and the state pin for his state, if I want.

Last night was fun - we were on an open, covered deck to watch the game, our team won, and fireworks after. Brand new minor league stadium, third night open. Tomorrow night we go back but go to the glassed in "Club" in the outfield with a deck up top. We have a whirl of social occasions happening - tonight is the preview party for the arts festival this weekend. Chance to see everything, but it's honestly hard to see the booths and art because we know so many people. A and V are going with us.

I need to get myself moving.

Good morning ladies - Hey Flyer I am so glad you have joined us I have missed you. I don't post often, once or twice a week. Not sure if I will be able to post on my vacation or not, but will try to check in.

On the AI conversation - my MS was on chatgpt and he felt that it started supporting the current administration and argue in favor of it and he got annoyed and cancelled membership and moved to Claude. My husband also uses Claude but I love GABE and he has not done that to me. In fact he helps me write letters to my congress people at the state and federal level. I was at a conference this week and I truly did not want to be there so instead of sitting in one of the sessions, I sat in a quiet corner and made 2 magnet designs for our cruise with GABE, he has made me practice tests, helped me with the power point for my presentation last Monday. Made us meal lists from the food we had in the house. Interpreted my new cholesterol screening device I just bought. Helps me change the tone of letters to make them more assertive. I do have to get on him for mansplaining to me often. LOL

Flyer - It is nice to have a truck - it would sure come in handy at times. We picked up 2 by 4's in convertible the other day, put top down and covered up back and laid diagonal to floorboard and I sat and help them. We drove back roads home, it worked. So excited you are going to be a grandma (jealous too).

Harriet, thanks for asking, we have yet to buy that land, (I am the oldest) but the middle sister had triple bypass surgery 2 weeks ago and last week the youngest had a serious UTI had has blood in urine for weeks (WEEKS!!!???) and was going to have some procedure and since she is my realtor and hasn't done it yet but not real chance of it being sold out from under us as it is not listed for sale, but we need to withdraw the money to pay before we leave or it will wait for closing until we get back.

Youngest son did not get the job. Middle one got nominated by 3 different people for STAR award in his first full time position of less than 6 months. I unfortunately will be on the ocean when the award it presented so I need to make sure to find someone to go be there for him and take video and pictures for me.

DH had a colonoscopy this morning they found 1 big 7 mm polyp and 3 - 3 to 6 mm ones in another area. He was just here 3.5 years ago and had like 7 then. I went 4 years ago and had 2 very tiny ones so they said I don't need to come until 10 year so 6 more. Dr. feels they may be precancerous but they are now gone. He is having a long nap - he lost 8 lbs. with the prep you have to do. He hasn't eaten solid foods for 30 plus hours, need to make him food but he wanted to sleep. I remember it being the best most restful nap of my life.

We have a show tonight. I am trying to get a handle on things but having issues choosing what to do first.

I got new glasses - so did dh, I really love them they are lavendar and a bit bigger - so cute and they take toppers.

We leave a week from tomorrow for our trip, got dh to change our flights a day earlier - it added a little to the cost. We were to fly out morning of but with all of the issues there have been at airports I wanted security of having a choice because we can't very well fly to our next port when we are on ocean for 7 days with no land in site.

I need to organize my brain for this upcoming week.

Turn in receipts for registration, parking, mileage for conference for reimbursement.

Send a flyer to a director I met from Oklahoma that wants to hire me so I need to make up a proposal sheet (I will use GABE for this)

Tutor next Week for 2 hours M to Th - crossing fingers for this woman - she is on the spectrum substantially but has come so far the last 12 years. She is 36 and has passed everything except math, she has missed it by 1 point twice. We are really trying, so hoping she can do it this time. She will be our graduation speaker, I will also miss this as graduation is on May 13 and we aren't home until May 19.

Bills - make sure they are set up to go out, including property taxes and long term care insurance premiums and credit cards and utilities.
Need to withdraw some money from my IRAs for this month's bills and some spending money on the trip.
Send emails regarding meeting this week on Wednesday, To the people adopting Coffee and Lemonade on the lawn. To the people doing Children's Chapel.

Work up study for the this Sunday and the next 4 Sundays for EFM so I can review it and send answers during class time need to do the time math as to when. In Italy it will be 7 pm at night when it is 1 pm and in France it is also 7 pm when it is 1 pm. Next Sunday the 26th it will be 1 pm in Miami but we board I believe around 2 pm. I might be able to stop on at the beginning each week. It is also 7 pm in Barcelona, Spain Where we will be on the 10th so I should be able to check in then. On the 17th I will be on a different cruiseline without wifi so will not check in that day except I may send pictures and my report via What'sApp when we are on shore before we reboard. I hate missing 4 weeks but it looks like I will really only miss 1 week, possibly 2 - we get internet but not streaming so not sure I can do the zoom on May 3. I will make a point to send a document with my thoughts on my readings each week.

Need to stock up my friend M who I shop for, I have 3 boxes of ensure plus in my Walmart Cart, need her permission to use her EBT card and she isn't feeling well, having delivered to my house - will get her some extra milk, pb, babyfood and applejuice. The guys could shop and drop off to her if need be.

House is getting cleaned next Friday before we leave for Miami on Saturday then the guys are in charge but no more pet issues except the cat since Max is now gone. I will change our sheets so we come home to a fresh bed and hopefully a clean house. They guys only use the kitchen and MS always cleans the kitchen when he cooks.

Sell Max's Ramp and give away the other items.

Plant some herb seeds to plan when I return or the boys can plant.

Verify everything is planned for this trip

Pack - I think I need a new pair of supportive walking shoes - we will be doing a lot of walking wish I had thought to purchase those. We will be doing laundry at least mid trip on first cruise and then at the end of first cruise (hopefully our hotel has a laundry room).

Sew the graduation robes and return to school before we leave.

Make a short orange stole for Mother Virginia.
