I decided that I wanted to lay down for a short nap.

Dh stayed for a few minutes and then he got up. He is currently outside cutting the grass.,. so much for my nap.

I had turned the dishwasher on before I laid down. I had washed 3 frying pans this morning.

It's a nice day here.

2nd meal of the day has been prepared and enjoyed.

DD14 called from ballpark and requested to leave. I spoke with school supertendent and got DD14 excused for the rest of the day.

Twins - who owns the hill where the bikes are riding? Public or private land?

I also emptied the wheel burrow & added more weeds to the wagon and it's full now. A few more got pulled out

My mindset has turned into "I have no motivation." Not sure what the shift was. Perhaps permitting myself a skip day working out? Or was the skip day the result of an inner voice saying no no no ?

I did get the geranium repotted, leaving only the ferns for repotting. And I cleaned up that end of the porch from the spilled soil. I have ground beef to make lasagne sauce for ds. Planning to do that in evening.

I slept poorly last night - trouble getting to sleep because I was achy, then needed to get up for bathroom later. Still later, ddog wanted out. I took Advil, I think when the dog went out. Occurred to me that I might want to nap today and it sure would feel good, but I don't want to risk not sleeping well tonight.

LadyM, owned by the HOA except for one of the other areas where it goes into a neighbor's treed backyard which isn't fenced. Not so worried about that area as I am the grassy areas we are to maintain.

Hi.

More plants are planted but can't get to them all. Carrying some around to make sure they're getting sun and watered while they can, to prepare for us being gone tomorrow.

Delivery arrived, but with another part still to come this evening.

Feeling frustration because of automated phone calls and emails insisting I confirm appts I've already confirmed. The "phone call hand" doesn't know what the "email hand" is doing and neither know what the "personal online site hand" is doing. So, you can record your confirmations all you want, offices still seem to have no idea whether they can believe you are going to show up or not. This has been our reality since January. In past years, never experienced this. Also, a strange new type of request, asking you to remember to confirm your arrival on your cell phone - what? You're standing in front of a human at that point.

twins - That is sad for the parent to allow kids to tear up privately owned property.

I'm watching the weather. The storm chasers are nearby and ready to give chase. Nothing is happening right now but there is a high chance of storms erupting. IF the cap breaks they said it would quickly get western with tornado & hail. If the cap holds, then it passes us by and continues on its way with no storm.

OH my goodness. I just napped for over an hour. I think part of the reason was that I had the smallest cat curled up near my feet and I was trying to keep still under the duvet just in case she wanted to hunt for my feet if they so much as twitched. She's fast and lethal when she feels like it. Thankfully she kept her claws to herself and dh reported that we both looked like we had a good nap. I think the series finale of Swamp People is on at 10 tonight.

LadyM, maybe I'm exaggerating the extent of possible damage. The HOA had to rebuild a wall on the other street because of water getting behind the wall in a period of heavy storms. In thinking about it, I think the owners on the upper side street actually own the land down to the street but the HOA has a landscaping easement and we maintain it. Pay for mowing, fertilization and pine straw cover. I know the parents are looking for outdoor things for the kids to do - encouraging them to be out on bikes instead of indoors, and I'm so happy to see that. There's only shooting baskets in the neighborhood once a child outgrows the playground.

Tomorrow night we're going to services and then to Shabbat dinner at A and V's home. I'm contributing the leftover salad mix and dessert cream puffs from Tuesday p.m. Otherwise nothing on the schedule for tomorrow.

I need to do HOA checks tomorrow and mail.

I've resisted a nap today. I need to stretch my hip/glutes but not sure I will. Why is it so hard?

While we are thinking about mindset, I want to recommend to you all a Facebook page that certainly will help you put things in their proper perspective.
Kerry Goode is a former high school football star, then a star at the University of Alabama, and I believe, played some in the pros and coached.
Eleven years ago, he was diagnosed with ALS.
He is now completely paralyzed and types with his eyes, but his mindset is phenomenal. He posts almost daily, just sharing things that come up in his day with his amazing wife and other caregivers, his children (who I believe are all college age or older now), and often times, inspirational, faith-based devotionals.
He graduated at the same high school as my dad, and of course, y'all know how I feel about that Other School... ;) so you know if I am bragging on the man, he truly deserves it. Check him out.

My mindset today is -- I guess just kinda neutral.
I went to the insurance office and changed that policy -- realized $500 a year was less than $50 a month, and that is certainly worth $13K in peace of mind, wouldn't you think? I will have to pay the increase this year, but when it comes due next February, the lady told me I could set it up for a monthly bank draft. (Probably a little less than $200/month. That sounds doable.)
Oh -- and y'all know what? When I came out of the office, dh's "signature" song was playing on the radio. (Rocky Top -- his favorite song long before the University of Tennessee adopted it.) That kind of felt like dh was giving me his approval.

Then I went to Wmart, and y'all -- are you sitting down? I got potting soil and came home and put those little plants from last night, along with some seeds -- daisy, marigold, and something else -- in two pots. Watered and put Miracle Gro spikes in them. Set them at the edge of the carport, where they will get some morning sun but mostly shade. I also bought a cushion for one of the patio chairs and moved it and the chaise lounge into the open area of the carport. I must get a cushion for the chaise lounge -- it only has slats to sit on, and is extremely uncomfortable without a cushion.
I envision myself as a lady of leisure who reclines on her chaise lounge in the shade and reads in the afternoons. We will see...
I also got a solar light to replace the one broken in the roofing process, and a belt for dgs, who desperately needs one.
