Enjoy family time, GMA. Every time I open my front door the gold finches take flight from the black eyed Susan’s. They must like their seeds.

That must be a beautiful sight, L.Ann.
Oh, that book sounds awesome. I'll have to check if my library has it and get on the hold list. Thanks for the advice.
LOL, Kittykatt, I am only impressed that I made sense of the owner's manual in French! It all ended happily. I bought the brake fluid and topped it up, and the brake light turned off! It took a little driving for the brakes to feel normal again, but by the time I left the grocery store I was back to normal. So relieved!
That is great that you found the nice blue colour, Gma. Enjoy your dinner with family!
Friday
Put on a pot of coffee
3 X 15:
Cleaned up after Germane:
Picked up all of her pee pads, bagging and discarding the used ones
Flushed her poop, then remembered that I was supposed to bring her fecal sample to animal hospital
Washed the linoleum, as she had peed uphill of her pee pads too
Saw that Germane had considerately done a new fecal sample right by the front door where I could pick it up on my way out
Turned back the linoleum and started cutting off the parts where she had peed under and wet the backside
Tried to pull up the remains of one entire piece of linoleum
Moved furniture, tried to hold up the exercise bike with one hand while tugging on the linoleum with the other
Went down in flames, sweat, panting
Got increasingly desperate as my plan of leaving an hour ago to take the car to the parts store keeps sliding further and further out of reach
Just cut the wet parts of the linoleum
Bagged them
Moved the furniture back
Laid new pee pads
Found a small container
Labelled it
Collected fecal sample
Cleaned floor
15:
Made breakfast
Put the salmon I cooked in the fridge
Mashed rice into the drippings and put it in Germane’s dish
Put away dry dishes
Updated my calendar
Checked email
Registered for first The Walrus Talks of the new season
15:
Spread laundry around the apartment to ensure that it dries
Gathered clothes
Put away the rest of the dry dishes
Brushed teeth
Put a dampened cloth in a baggy to wipe down the brake fluid cap
Spiffed self
Treats for Germane
Brought the sample to the animal hospital
Went to parts store and bought brake fluid
Topped it up
Started car: the brake light went off. Whew!
The brakes still felt a little spongy to me, so I didn’t have the confidence to go down the main road all the way to Metro.
Decided on Food Basics as a compromise. I put off going there, because I always stay too long and stock up like a prepper when I go there.
Found lots of bargains and stocked up as always.
By the time I left, the brakes felt normal again. What a relief!
Just brought up one small bag and the flowers because I didn’t have the granny cart with me.
Greeted Germane with treats
Moved the carts around
Brought Germane and the handtruck to the car
Brought all of the rest of the groceries up in one load. Used bungee cords to keep it all on.
Treat for Germane
Put cold groceries away
Put lasagna in oven

Watered the outside plants
Scrubbed out sink and basin
Washed some dishes
Covered the lasagna
Washed the soaking pot and dumped the water
Caught Germane mid-pee on the parquet floor. Got paper towels down before it could spread too far.
Washed the floor
Cleaned up her pee pads
Watered the indoor plants
Filled the water bottles and put them in the fridge
Tomorrow I hope to get out of the apartment early to go to a fundraiser. I don't know, though. If I don't do a lot better than I did today, I will miss the fundraiser. And I'm having trouble walking even with my cane. But that might go away overnight, after I've had my feet up.
