Congrats MT! I just showed the listing to dh and he's happy for you too.

Norma check the members only section for the pictures. I'm sorry you had such a scare - I know that feeling!

I worked on the meal plan for the month and a grocery list. I'm going to try making refrigerator bran muffins for dh since he really enjoyed some he had at church. So those ingredients are added to my list.

I started wild rice for myself before leaving on our walk and white rice for dh when we got back (wild rice takes ages to cook.) I'm hoping I like the wild rice since I have a fair bit on hand right now. I'm also going to look into getting some other grains since I'm trying to avoid 'white' right now and we are a meat and potatoes (or white rice) family.

I discussed my weight goals with dh while on our walk to the general store and he says he'll be supportive but is wondering what he'll be missing. I immediately said pizza since our local pizza place is thick crust (even their 'thin' version) and we always get rings there too. I also pointed out that we won't be going out to eat very often. He says he's ok with that. His Chinese each week remains on the meal plan because that doesn't affect me.

Dinner is almost ready now so I better set the table.

Hooray for the Emptynesters! What wonderful news -- so happy for you!! :D

Ran errands with dh today & finally replaced my six year old phone. They couldn't transfer over my contact numbers so will have to do that by hand. Have been playing with it this afternoon & trying to learn all the features it comes with.

((Hugs)) for dd, Harriet -- the teachers should be communicating more clearly with their students (especially the Science one  ). You had asked yesterday which planner I have -- the one Pam & Peggy used to sell. It is time consuming to write in the dates by hand, but I have never found preprinted pages I like better than their To Call, To Do, & To Go format. I also save any dated pages that remain blank & use white out on either the month, day or date & reuse them. A good benefit for when I fall off the system -- no waste :)

Nancy, you mentioned you had an interesting dream. I had one several days ago that is still on my mind. I was looking for my ddad in this big house with dozens of hallways, rooms & short staircases that led to
more of the same. I couldn't find my ddad even though I knew he was in there somewhere. As soon as I woke up it hit me what an analogy that dream had been. With my ddad in the latter stages of Alzheimers, he is somewhere inside the shell his body has become, but I can't find the man he used to be.

Will have to check out your post in AC&N, Bookie. Have fun sewing this weekend.

Hope your back feels better soon, Twins.

It has been so nice to see Elizabeth posting :)

So sad for your dniece & her husband, OKay. I am such a fan of family farms & it is heartbreaking that they have to sell their herd, & deal with all the unwanted life changes that go along with that.

So glad you found your purse Norma! I can relate to that sickening feeling. Loved reading about your dggd reaction to her talking card; so sweet :)

Chicken for dinner tonight. My 3 mini jobs for today were:

1) Clean noseprints off of ddog's favorite window ;)
2) Slice & freeze very ripe bananas
3) Remove what is left of my polish & trim nails.

Have a good evening, everyone! Waving ~~~ to all

Hi everyone! I am so glad it is Friday. Tonight I am eating dinner out with DD and XDH. Then we are going to her schools fall festival. Friends are also meeting us. The hardest part of being single again is no one to eat dinner with. The cats are not good conversationalists. I predict many cereal dinners with library books. Tonight XDH is helping me move some furniture to the curb for tomorrow's pick up. It was free furniture, but smells of cat pee. Oh well. I need to get my finances separated from XDH's so I will know my cash flow. I really want to have maid service at least once a month!

MT - Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you!

The focus for this week (laundry room) is certainly getting its share of attention! The pipes leading to the hot water heater decided to leak in earnest.....so DH is in the middle of replumbing from the wall to the HWH. As part of the process, the shut-off valves needed to be replaced so the whole house is without water until everything is in place.

DH had to stop & run to town to sign some checks. Guess there was a goof-up in the signatures for the churches 1st of the month checks. There was only 1 signature on the checks and they require 2. DPastor discovered it when he went to deposit his pay for the month. Oops!

It is full moon - meaning time to plant above ground items that have seeds on the outside = lettuce, mustard, spinach. Think I will do that since I keep running into stumbling block trying to accomplish things inside the house without water.

Congratulations MT on a wonderful new house! I'm so happy that you're so happy! Loved the pics online.

Okay - I think the next full moon is Oct. 12 - the Hunter's Moon. I'm so sorry about your family's dairy farm being sold.

Waving hi to all in the village. Back to Friday chores and laundry. Want to get done so I can enjoy the weekend.

Hi we lost power last night. I had to have my router reset. I can't get ot it. It is in my coat closet behind a panel. I had to wait for maintenance.

Beside the power going off last night the fire alarm also went off for my floor. They were going door to door to make sure we were ok and that it was a false alarm. After the power was restored an ambulance came for one of my neighbors that fell.

It was a busy night.

Congrats to MT on the new home! We'll help keep it on the QT!

I decided this afternoon that I should just go with the flow today. After I got the challah started, I watched mindless TV with dd and just hung out. She is spending tonight with P and D so we split the dough and made two small loaves so she could take a loaf to them. I need to work on my mindset for tomorrow so I can accomplish some things. Sunday I loose four hours taking dd back to K-town.

The low tonight is supposed to be 44 degrees and 39 tomorrow overnight.

Thanks Kathryn for pointing me the way to MT's new home pictures. I kept looking on her blog! (Oh well, I thought I'd lost my purse today too. Old age setting in.)

OKAy, I am so very sorry about your families dairy farm. This just shouldn't be happening to citizens in this country. It makes me very angry and I guess I had best shut up now before I go ballistic. I already put some things on news items I found today on the Yahoo news site. Something is very wrong in this country.

My keys disappeared earlier this week. I had them because I got home on Tuesday but then they weren't handy when I went to grab them for choir. Dh was driving so it wasn't a big deal and we both recall seeing them in the kitchen (I had dropped them there because I was carrying groceries when I came home the day before.)

Thursday, he drove so I kept thinking I had to find the keys. Tonight I decided to go out for groceries so I could start the refrigerator muffins and that meant I had to find my keys. They weren't in the kitchen, my purse, the bedroom, or in the grocery bags in the car, or the newspaper bin. Dh was helping me look and checked out the top of the bureau in the laundry room and the washer and dryer (we come into the house through the laundry room.) I went down to look between the bureau and the wall, under my hook for them and spotted my keys hanging on their hook! I must have put them back after choir and forgotten. All I remembered was that they were missing and dh went with that and didn't look where they belonged. Anyway, I thought of Norma while I was looking!

Grocery shopping went well - I got everything on my list and caught up with my neighbour.

The weather has turned really cold so I must remember to light the pilot light on the fireplace. But first, I need to clean up the kitchen.

Norma: I didn't put anything about the house on my blog for the same reason I don't want it put on FB - some of my neighbors read it and I want to tell them face to face. None of my IRL friends are on here.

Just stopped by a friend's house here at NR as they were having happy hour. Announced that we were their new neighbors and got lots of hugs and hoorays!! Always makes you feel good.

Wish it would cool down a bit - almost 6 and it is still 98. At least we don't close and move until Nov. when it will be cooler.
