Finally Friday
Finally it is Friday.
And for us, Finally we don't have somewhere else we have to be today. Or tomorrow.
What do you look forward today?

Re: Finally Friday
This week has felt long to us as dh is pushing hard to his deadline of Monday night when he has to finish writing this course to start teaching on Tuesday morning. This is the first new course he's written in years and is teaching a vendor's tool, not a standard. Dh has always been part of the development of the standards he teaches so he knows why everything is the way it is. A vendor's tool isn't the same at all, sometimes things are done the way they are because it was Friday afternoon and everyone wanted to go home!
It is taking a minimum of 5 hours to write 1 hour of lecture. He's supposed to be teaching for 18 hours and so far just 8 hours are done. I can't see how this is going to end well.
On the plus side, he did finally realize it was faster to bash out the slides in rough form and then polish instead of producing a perfect slide before going on to the next slide. For my perfectionist husband, that was hard to figure out.
I have a ton of work to do both on the house (getting it cleaned since there will be people here all next week) and paperwork and bookkeeping. I screwed up badly this month on the bill paying and missed a deadline for a credit card with a large balance. And I need them to raise the limit on that card because the balance of our next cruise is due next week.
Plus I have to write a stewardship children's story for church.

Re: Finally Friday
Dd is definitely having a finally Friday day! She is so frustrated by confusion over deadlines and manners of turning in work at school. She said yesterday it seemed to her everything she did was wrong, with teachers refusing to accept her assignments because of reasons she couldn't grasp, and the Science teacher saying read a portion of your book section, but never telling what portion because she was irritated with the class.

Re: Finally Friday
Good Morning!
Since I am self-employed, Friday's have taken on a new meaning. Our work week is 7 days instead of the 5 day work week I had for over 30 years. However, the memory of looking forward to Friday still lingers and feels like a fun event when it happens each week.
I hit the floor running this morning and am pumped full of energy because I have kept to my schedule. I need to do a few tweaks to it - I have set the bar high, but might be a little too high. I have purposely scheduled myself too much in the time slots, knowing that Parkinsons Law - "Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion" will get me if I put too little in it.
Breakfast = LC Pancakes. YUM!! I have tweaked and tweaked this recipe to the point the I am pleased it is about as good as it will get. We all said YUM on our first bite this morning.
Lunch = Pizza
Supper = Hot Wing Chicken
Fruit of the day = orange
Vegetable of the day = Spaghetti squash
When I opened the door to go do MPB chores this morning I immediately turned around and went to get a jacket. It felt COLD even though it isn't (in the low 50's). One of my AM chores is washing bay walls so the spray of water + wind factor + cooler temp than I am used to = wearing a jacket felt wonderful!

Re: Finally Friday
It is 10:16 and I'm worried about Parkinson's Law.
I have s2s (after fully exercising and putting up a motivational chart in the bathroom above the scale) and I've prepped dinner (which isn't easy - this recipe actually has steps, but it is in the crock pot now.) I've also tidied up the kitchen and done the dishes. In my moving around I've discovered I need flour, white & brown sugar and ketchup so those are added to my list. Flour is on sale this week because Thanksgiving is October 10th and people are expected to bake for that.
Now, I'm exhausted (partly because I'm working in bare feet because I had touched up my toe-nail polish.) I'll take a break and then get moving some more.

Re: Finally Friday
Very quiet Friday in the village. I'm just now trying to get moving this morning, slept late, have surfed computer 'til I'm all but bored. (Looking around for the BGS...) I'm trying to work up a big energy burst like I had on Wednesday. BTW, by 10 p.m. Wednesday evening when I picked dd up, I was soooo tired. I ended up letting her drive part way home from across town.
-empty dishwasher
-clear kitchen counters
-start a loaf of challah
-reboot laundry
-straighten up the den

Re: Finally Friday
Good morning, villagers ~
Finally it's the weekend that my sewing group has been planning for several months. We've hired a professional clothing designer/artist to come to teach 3 classes. I posted more about it in AC&N.
I stayed up last night until after 1, and was up again at 6 to finish last-minute preparations. Oh wait, just thought of something else that needs printing ...

Re: Finally Friday
Finally Friday. Yep. End of the 3rd quarter. I am working on ending this quarter with my desk chores. I have Sept. ended, at least. Couple more reports and I'm done for now.
Kathryn, thinking about your DH coming up short on time with his course.....I know it's not right, technically, but when my DH goes to a continuing ed class, he is always always happy when it gets done sooner and he gets to go home! Some of the things he's come home and told me about tells me the instructor was adding nonsense stuff and stretching things like crazy!
Harriet, that does not sound fair to your DD. Oh, did I mention that the Indian village we helped DGS make has received a 100 grade? They put them all in the library for viewing on book day, and will move them to the public town library next.
Beautiful day here, in the 90's again. It's supposed to start getting cooler soon. Already the evenings are a few degrees cooler. No rain yet, OKay?
I want to finish at my desk and do some cleaning around here, then I want to do some goal planning. I want to get ahead of the holidays coming and I want to get ready for the new year. So far this year has been good, work-wise at least.

Re: Finally Friday
Okeydokey got those forms printed.
Some of us are having early supper with the teacher before we go set up the rooms. Before I meet them in The Big City, I still need to
1) Organize stacks of paper
2) Move stuff from grimy tote bag to pretty one
3) Remember to take note pads & business cards
4) Move a bunch of stuff from the car into the house
5) Put away pantry items
6) s2s
7) Set up recorder for the show on PBS that DH wants
8) TAKE A NAP!
