I managed to get my name on the incident report for security three days during the past week. Tonight was the third.
Jake got wrapped in my wheels.
I'm so embarrassed.

Re: Mysterious Monday
Tomorrow is fast coming and I've barely done anything today. Sigh....
Dh helped me move the big old tv and dvd player on to the standing desk in my creative room. It takes up 1/3 of the space (about 2.5' x 5') but that's ok, I still have enough room to work. Maybe with a tv in there, I'll be able to spend time watching inane movies and puttering and get some work done. I have photo albums to create. Lots and lots of photos albums and family histories. (I still have my sitting desk fully available for when I need to work on the computer, as well.)
I also fixed the printer/copier/scanner. Sad to say it was super easy. I searched for the problem on the internet, discovered many others had the same issue, went to try the solution (hand cleaning the printhead) and discovered the printer was out of black ink. I had bought all cartridges in December but only replaced the colour ones, not the black since there was a little left of it. Duh.... (On the plus side, I remembered where the new black cartridge was.)
It is my turn to wash dishes so I'll do that and pull out the meat to defrost for tomorrow night (since I'll be starting the crock pot in the morning.)
Maybe I'll even do some baking for my meeting tomorrow night. Or maybe not, I just saw what time it is.
Indiana I'm sorry you are embarrassed. <Don't look at me, I'm having trouble wiping the smile off my face, since it sounds funny to me!>

Re: Mysterious Monday
Today I've made it through the day of granny duty. Dgd #2; {dgd #1 was at church camp} dgd#2 brought two cake mixes with her she said that she wanted to bake cookies so we did that. We made ch. cookies out of a yellow cake mix, fudge cholate chip cookies out of a chocolate one, and I baked up some of the oatmeal dough I had made up in the freezer. I sent cookies home with dgd to her mom's with 5 kids they won't last long there. Got them out of the house to not temp. us. The ice cream container with a bail I rescued came in very handy for that!
They played out side in the snow, b.ball, in side chess, drew in sketch books, picked up after they got blocks and other toys out.
H. was quite cranky here today doing tax stuff for the farm understandably so; but we were all glad when he was done with that for the day! We've been talking about doing that for a while.
I helped him get photos of his boat loaded on his p/c so he could use it as a screen saver.
He rounded up the trash after I took out the kitchen bag under the sink that was over flowing.
Winds could gust up to 40 mph tomorrow here.

Re: Mysterious Monday
Oh my stars, until I read how Kathryn reacted I did NOT understand Indiana's statement and thought Jake had actually gotten himself somehow caught in the wheels. I was so worried!!! Thank goodness, I'm thinking now it was just the leash and so you both needed to be rescued?
Dd13 was home today and we have both been scurrying. Sorry I haven't materialized until now. Well, I still haven't materialized I suppose, but you know what I mean!
lucylee, that was seriously smart.

Re: Mysterious Monday
I have to give credit where credit is due re: my flash of brilliance this morning:
I think I recall a passage in Tom Sawyer, where Tom is searching for a lost marble, and he throws a second one and recites something that includes words to the effect of "Go find your brother."
I did not recite any incantations over my slip of paper.
And of course, the wind was so blustery, there was certainly no guarantee that it was still blowing in the direction that took my check. But I thought it was worth a try. I mean -- I certainly didn't want to hike all over that pasture in my house-shoes!
Great minds think alike, Harmony!
That is REALLY lucky about the cell phone. I would never be that lucky. And dh would never let me live it down, LOL!
Laundry is continuing to progress, and I have checked in w/dparents...
Now, to type the church minutes.
TRYING NOT TO PROCRASTINATE!!!
(((Indiana))) I couldn't help but LOL a little, too... but I am also assuming Jake is physically fine, right? Maybe he's a little embarrassed, too. (((Jake)))
Nancy, dh here is working on tax stuff tonight, too.
Those cookies sound sooo good.
Kathryn reminded me I need to call at&t re: our modem. Our printer quit last week, and I finally realized it was all b/c our modem had lost its wireless function. Internet/dsl is still running through it, but apparently we have no wireless capability any longer. We don't really need it, now that ds isn't here using his laptop, but he had hooked up the printer via wireless connection... sooo... I had to find the cable and hook it up that way. Everything is fine now, but I need to get that modem replaced, I guess.
(((Macs))) And (((Twins))) -- Hope everything goes well w/the dentist appt.
OKay -- it's supposed to be 65 degrees here tomorrow! But then -- rain/thunderstorms. DH says it is not natural for it to be this warm in January!
DH loves IHOP, Elizabeth.
I do not envy you your work. Obviously, I am putting off just typing these minutes. * sheesh *
Better get busy!

Re: Mysterious Monday
Jake actually wrapped in the wheel would be beyond frightening, but I figure it had to be his leash.
Growing up, my dad taught our dog the command "Go Around!". When she'd get her rope in the yard tangled, she'd bark, we'd open a window or go to the door and say "Go around" and indicate the direction and she'd dutifully go around, stop and look at us, we'd say, "Again" or "The other way" and she'd follow instructions. The neighbours were very impressed. You can see from this that my dad was as lazy as I am - why bother putting on boots and a coat and climbing onto the snow bank to get the dog untangled when you could just teach her to respond to voice commands?
I got the dishes done, and ran through tomorrow night's presentation once.

Re: Mysterious Monday
HOORAY!!! Minutes are typed. Boy -- that actually took longer than I expected. But it WAS almost a 2-hour long meeting... plus, I had to re-type the roster... and took a good while trying to remember how to make Excel alphabetize the list for me... and I stopped to flip the laundry... so...
Anyway. I am sooo glad that is DONE. Before I send them to the pastor, I will send them to dsisil to approve/correct tomorrow. She is the chairperson of the board. And before y'all start thinking our family has it stacked -- get this -- there are FIVE married couples on the Board. There are 26 people on my roster right now, but I think there may be a few names missing.
DH and dbil have been on the board at various times in the past, but neither of them currently holds any position.
Now... what else must I do... miles to go before I sleep.
Of course, I realize, if I could EVER get my act together before noon, this would not be such a frequent problem.
[x] color my hair
[x] laundry
[/] change sheets
[x] Wmart
[x] drug store
[x] drug store again when doctor phones in rx for dfil
[x] visit dinlaws
[x] talk to dparents on phone
[x] type church council minutes
[ ] finish grading papers
Well... not too bad... but it IS almost 11:00 p.m.
