Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
I'm ok but a bit frustrated nothing much maybe just hormones or allergies. Got home from a few errands dropped of books, bags, and got a few things at the store. H. said he wanted to fertilize,
but I thought he had some from dson so I said not to get it. Well what he meant was a patch kit for the lawn.
It's freezing still at nights here too soon IMO. Communication snafu. That's not big on my priority list don't think we should put that down until after the open house anyway but that's just me!

Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
Kally, I don't get much done these days either. But I find showing up here helps me get a very small amount done.
For today:
- up and s2s
- hung out laundry on line
- did volunteering
- had lunch with dh downtown
- hair cuts
- shopped for engagement and wedding rings. This is not going well. I don't like anything out there. Each ring I look at I automatically convert to days on the ship and I wouldn't have traded 2 days of the last cruise for any of the rings I saw today, let alone 4 - 7 which what most of them cost. Will look into remaking my old ring, again, next week. I have to have a ring on, that's a given, but I don't want to spend a cent on one.
- ran one more errand
- came home, walked to general store for the mail (and ice cream.)
- took laundry off the line.
Not an overwhelmingly difficult day but I'm ready for bed.
The weather is gorgeous. High 70s, sunny, little wind and dry. Things are drying up fast here. Given that we didn't have much snow cover this year, that's probably bad news for the farmers. Average high temp for this date is high 40s so this weather is unusual but appreciated. In the meantime, dd had snow in Vancouver yesterday!
Harriet I sent you a message.

Back from making Mama happy.
DMom had drove by the cemetery and was in a tizzy about how bad the family plot looked. They had mowed it recently but the wet grass/weeds aren't easy to cut - they tend to just lean over and get trampled instead of mowed. DH, LO, DMom and I spent about an hour working on the family plot with bagger mower, 2 weed eaters and a blower. It does look better now, but more importantly....Momma is happy!
Next up - make Chicken fried steak for supper

OKay, you are just awesome. Seems like you are the "go-to" person in your family. How you fit in all that you do, I can't begin to imagine, but I want you to know that you are an inspiration!
Kathryn, I hope you find a ring that suits you.

I am about to leave payroll and pick up DD10 for Girls' Night Out. I hope she does not ask about the foster cat. She has testing tomorrow and we are not going to tell her he is gone until that is done. I hate to lie, but if she says anything I am supposed to say he is sick and with another member of the animal org who is taking care of him. Eventually she can help me scatter his ashes someplace nice. He didn't often let her pet him, he was too nervous around anyone but me, so I will probably miss him more than she will. Good night all.

Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
Just now getting here again and wrapping my mind around a lot that has happened on the boards.
I'm sure ((lucylee's dh)) is in the midst of so much planning right now and probably very weary. I hope he and his brother and mother can all rest well tonight.
Elizabeth, you did the best anyone could do right up to the end for your foster-care charge.

Dinner is done and I've done the dishes. Dh is watching a movie. I'm tempted to go to bed now.

Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
I am taking a break from my busy busy busy day.
(OKay) you have been through so much recently. You are truly an inspiration how much courage you have.
Lilac, that house deal has me puzzled. It sounded to me that the man wanted to jump-start the house deal for your lady buyer so that he could buy her house. Maybe I misunderstood what I read, but that made sense to me.
Elizabeth, poor cat, you did the right thing even though it was hard.
Hoping good health is coming for Harriet's DD and LO.
Now I'm wondering...just who steals a kayak? Good Grief!
Still doing chores around here. God bless DH who mopped the floors today before I was up. And blew the leaves off the porches. I washed everything on the front porch and hosed that off including windows and screens and whole front of house. I went out getting everything I couldn't find yesterday...with multi stops...3 just to find electric plug covers for little fingers. I could hardly walk I was so tired when I got home. I did run into a beauty shop and talk them into giving me a trim without an appointment too while I was out.
Had to take a nap to recover and DH got us dinner for once, much appreciated. Tonight was cleaning bathrooms, filling soap dispensers and stuff like that, reorganizing linen closet which was a mess, putting the dining room back in order. I have some cooking to do but I might have to do that tomorrow morning, I'm so bushed. I think I've pretty much done a whole year of focus work this past couple weeks.
DD1 with 5 of the dgkids will be here lunch time tomorrow; we'll find something close by to do in the afternoon. I'm sure it will be fun.

Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
That's a good way to spend a little time with your dmother, OKay, a nice gift for her, also because it takes a concern of hers seriously and validates her feelings.
bittersweet, did dd get helpful answers about your dgs's health? I hope it's no big deal.
Kathryn, what if you concentrated on good quality gold but low quality stones to the point of fakeityfakefake stones, or even just getting the wedding band now, and put off any further decision until you have some enthusiasm about it. When you later feel that enthusiasm, you'll make great decisions.
I have been fighting some sadness for a couple reasons. But I am consoled that since, as my ddad sleeps, he often awakens with a whole new outlook, even an unexpected outlook, so I might as well sleep and keep an open mind, too. Decided on ibuprophen, throat spray and popsicle tonight for dd.
Summer thunderstorms here. After all, it is way down in March.

Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
Dinner is done, granny duty is over and that went well except dgd would not nap after lunch and waited until four I touched her nose said not to go to sleep her folks were going to be her soon,
she said in a whinny voice "but Grandma I need my nap!" Out of the mouths of babes!
It was pouring down rain this afternoon so it was a good day for doing home work. Left over bean soup was a hit with the wet weather out too. Finished another hat, dgson loved his! Got a dish cloth done too no I'm giving my shoulder a break.
I'm back in a better frame of mind this evening; today at lunch I said I was doing much better than when I first woke up today and the whole staff where we were ordering lunch laughed out loud letting me know I was not alone in that!
