I still think it's criminal to spring so early. {grump, grump, grump}
I'm trying to get my temple hat on this morning to attend to some matters, and I'm heading to the office now. Should get there before 8:30 for first time since time change.

Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
I was still typing when Twins beat me to the submit button!
My title was going to be Triumphant Tuesday..but it was still about the first day of spring.
Today is the first full day of spring!! Our weather forecast includes some sunshine, some spring showers, and a bit of wind. It's also International Earth Day, Alien Abduction Day, and http://sunearthday.nasa.gov/2010/about/index.php
Let's start out this new season on a triumphant note! What can you conquer today? A cluttered drawer? A DPC you've been procrastinating on?
I'm up early this morning again..but that's most likely because I went to bed at 9pm last night! I've got things to get done today, and also need to take DD and the kids to the doctor this afternoon. We're concerned that DGS may be developing exercise-induced asthma. He seems to get winded quite easily, and even his teacher has noticed it at school. It only happens after he's been running or riding his bike, or other such activities.
Now I need to get myself moving here!
- downstairs critter care
- put away clean dishes
- sew 3 kittycat pads
- tidy living room
- breakfast/meds

Oooooh, Bittersweet, I could use a triumphant Tuesday here!
My mind is all over the place; I'm afraid I'm beginning to do the dangerous thinking....
"What I'm going to do after tax season...." Somehow, I do have a little energy going for the day.
Saw three deer on my way out to main roads this morning.

Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
dd awakened with a tightened throat and brought me a flashlight.
Although there are no white spots, she definitely has swollen tonsils. Hmmm... ... I've had her take apple cider vinegar and honey mixture in warm water and had her gargle with salt water. She has basically run away from this torture and back to bed, sorry she involved me, I think.
My ddad is still in bed, which is unusual.
Our house got so hot last evening that it awakened me, but one degree down for air conditioning had me chilly later toward morning. I guess it is just that time of year when we stay confused. I need a more intelligent thermostat!
Kathryn, would you glance at the recent bit of housekeeping I tried to do here and see if you can figure out why it didn't "take"?

Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
I got that round done...along with cleaning off one shelf of the printer bookcase. Since that sits beside my computer desk, it becomes an extra spot to put stuff. The living room is also a work in progress...it's MUCH worse than I'd realized
I'm going to keep at it, though - one bite at a time - cause I'm already seeing some progress!
Guess I'd better keep moving. If I sit here too long, I get distracted, my motivation gets sucked away by the cybergremlins, and I end up snoozing!
- wash dishes
- move some of the kittycat yarn downstairs (& put away!)
- vacuum part of the living room
- cut batting for three large kittycat pads
- put/throw away 10 things from computer desk

Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
We spent yesterday carving. On the lunch break, I baked a cake. At 4 (end of carving day) I frosted it for the 5:30 pot luck dinner. Lots of good food and sat a table with friends. Then we came home and watched DWTS.
Today, I have to run to the store at lunch time as we are out of milk and lunch meat. Tomorrow is Pizza night.
The carving I was doing yesterday morning wasn't going too good. The piece of bark was too dry and kept cracking out. I was spending more time glueing than carving. So I came home for a different piece of bark. I am taking picture of it as I go. So that will be on my blog on Sunday.
No news from DIndiana or her niece. We will just hope that no news is good news. I don't like to bug the niece too much as she is busy with her little ones. As DIndidna is in ICU - I can get no info from the hospital as I am not family. So we wait.

Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
Good Morning!
Yesterday I was out the door ASAP after getting LO set up for the day. We had to quickly devise "Plan C" after being up with him through the night with a fever that spiked in the early morning hours. Thankfully by EOD his fever went away and didn't return last night.
With the down pour of rain we had yesterday, it made DAunt funeral certainly memorable. The 40 mile drive on narrow 2 lane roads was an adventure.....driving 30-40 mph BELOW speed limit and windshield wipers on highest speed while trying to maintain sight of the road edges through the downpour. By the time I made the dash from car to church door, I was absolutely soaked. Squishy soaked.
The deluge of rain was so intense they cancelled the gravesite service and had the interment service in the church chapel following the funeral. However, I did not hear a single negative comment about receiving rain - the drought we just went through has cured us of complaining (at least for a while!!!)
Fishing! I have fishing on my mind. I have such good memories of sitting on a bank and lazily watching a fishing bobber. Those memories have me making plans to drop a hook into the water sometime in the near future.
I have been on schedule and a busy little gal this morning. CCC = 77
I saw this quote and instantly started nodding my head in agreement. This quote is sooo very true for me.If you don't deliberately give yourself positive directions, your mind and your body will continue to act upon directions from anywhere and everywhere.

AH!! OKay! there is nothing like fishing with a cane pole on a spring day. You don't care if you catch anything or not. Listening to the birds, smelling the grass and flowers and making pictures out of clouds make the day perfect.
Hope you get to go soon.
I'm off to eat breakfast and find some sox so my feet warm up.
Then up the road to carve for the rest of the day. TTFN

Re: Tuesday first day of Spring
I don't even know the last time I posted last week, but I managed to stay cuop, while I wasn't posting.
Dd2 and the 6 kids left Houston last Wed. morning at 9 and arrived home at 4 am on Thursday. They spent about 6 hours in Fort Worth and had planned to drive to the trips half way point where she had reservations. When they got back on the road after FW, they decided to cancel the reservation and drive straight thru. I didn't know this, but I was thrilled when she called me later Thursday morning and was safe at home. Both of her Texas friends were impressed that she took on the trip by herself with all the kids. One of them has 2 kids and the other 3, they have never made the trip without their spouse.
Saturday am we showed the house. I didn't think they were interested at all. Dh told me they were playing the real estate game with me and I would hear from him. Sure enough he called yesterday. I was at the grocery store and on my cell. Not the best place to handle business. He started out telling me that he had talked to a friend and I can't remember if he was a real estate guy or an appraiser. Anyway he told me the guy said the house would only appraise for this-to-that, which was $20000+ less than we were asking and asked me what I thought about that. I told him not much! So then he shot me an offer that was $10000 less than our bottom $. I told him no. So then he asked what my bottom $ would be to sell it right then and I shot him our figure. He said he would check with the bank and get back to me. After I came home I called the lady who really wanted it because she had asked that I let her know before we signed a contract with anyone else. She didn't answer so I left a message. Then the guy called and said he couldn't swing the deal but he had friends who wanted it for the price I quoted him. Also the first time he had asked what we required for earnest money. I told him that I had called this lady and that until I heard from her, I couldn't do anything. About that time she called, so I told him I would talk to her and call him back. When I started talking to her it came out that she was the friend he was talking about. She is the one that was so nuts about the place and I am thrilled that they are buying it. I called him back and told him that she was the lady I was waiting on. The lady wanted to come in yesterday and pay the earnest money. I told her that I was getting ready to go to my dd to help her get ready for a birthday party and it would have to wait until tomorrow. So tomorrow is now today. I have called the title company and asked them the questions I needed answers to. We have a contract template that dhs company lawyer made for any employee needing it. So before we can make out the contract I need to find out how they want their names on it and discuss a closing date.
Last night dh told me that he wondered if the guy and the couple hadn't worked together on this deal. I don't really care one way or another because we are getting the price that we felt was fair. Plus we are getting it started now and not May 15 which is the date they had originally had told me that they would need for the buyer of their place. So now I need to make the DPC to get their info................
