Out here it is over 150' between my kitchen and my neighbour's kitchen but I could hear everything that went on at her place. Apparently things haven't changed except now people can see as well as hear if you have a video monitor.

I'm not having a five by five day today.

It is very cold and grey here. The house is freezing. I did exercise and s2s, plus I did a minimal amount of tidying in the kitchen before making a mess again by heating up leftovers for lunch. Since then, I've watched tv.

So... the majority of you think the baby will be safe, with or without the monitor, right?

I think dh & ds are sooo sick of hearing about the monitor by now that they are going to both have a complete come-apart if I mention it again... but I really think I need to find out if dmil just has her heart set on it, or if this is just something dcousin suggested to her. I know it would drive ds crazy to think their conversations were being broadcast around the subdivision, as Kathryn's link showed. Dfriend mentioned that also -- although she still votes, yes, get a monitor.

-- which is the exact amount of the interest earned this month, but I've checked twice & I have accounted for interest correctly... and I've checked addition/subtraction twice. Ended up just giving myself the extra 89 cents and making a note for next month.

[x] called dmil to tell her we'd pick up fish at local fund-raiser this evening if she'd like

I think ddil is still having trouble getting enough fluids... she says she feels nauseated every time she tries to drink a lot.

Lilac -- I think your dd & dsil have definitely taken a step in the right direction. (((BIG HUGS))) to them, b/c I imagine there is nothing easy about "tough love."

Harmony -- you certainly ARE doing a lot of cooking/entertaining lately. Bless your heart.

Lucylee: When we moved into our first house it was at a curve and faced down the street (no house right across from us.) Within a day or two of moving in, our neighbours warned us that everything that was said in a loud voice in the front rooms could be heard down the street. The previous family had a challenging child, plus she was pregnant, plus they were emigrating to the other side of the world (NZ) so stress was huge in that household and everyone on the street knew just how stressed this couple was! That was without a baby monitor broadcasting things!

Finally off the road. Lots of road construction with stop and go traffic for MILES!!!

DH is very tired but cooking turkey burgers for us and then we will call it an early night.

Helia, the lady I made the dinner for tonight lost her mother a couple weeks ago. We found out she wasn't doing very good (well?). She is very depressed and said she wasn't eating. We all kicked it up a notch and started sending cards, calling and bringing meals. She was very appreciative when I showed up with my food. She has no family locally and brothers in another state are being less than helpful (sell Mom's house NOW, get out, etc. etc.) She was very weepy when I was there.

The fruit platter is for DFriend's memorial service luncheon tomorrow at noon. We had one last week also (Sunday) so I've been really busy.

Gal called tonight and wanted someone to set up (plates and drinks etc.) for yearly staff meeting Monday night (it's a pot luck) but there will be set up and clean up. Does anyone but me think the staff should take care of their own dinner and not try to make it seem like it's a ministry for our committee to work on? Staff is paid. I think there may be a few volunteers, and there may be other committees there, like the Elders, etc. and they aren't paid....but it would be like us Deaconesses saying, "come and set up our monthly meeting for us and provide coffee, drinks and clean up after us." Is it just me or am I not getting something?

Anyway, going back to hiding my bad feelings about this. I said I'd come help but put someone else in charge. I don't know where they keep everything; don't have keys, etc.

Last LOL done drying. Fruit washed and cut up for platter. Kitchen cleaned for the umpteenth time today. S2Slippers.

MT I'm glad you arrived safely. How many miles did you travel?

I've CUOP a couple times today, but never got around to posting.

All is well - just kinda quiet.
