Friday Flying...

If it wasn't for my ddad's confusion and for the combination of intense heat outside and (now) intense thunderstorms it wouldn't be so bad.

For one thing, I'm starving, which is my own fault. I wouldn't eat until they made a decision about what they wanted, so that I could eat with them in a somewhat normal manner on a low-calorie day for me.

Oh, turns out I don't have a recommendation on an ointment for tick bites after all. Several applications but this doesn't seem to be acting any differently than it does with an itch creme. I think your body simply has to deal with it. So never mind!

We have driven across Illinois and part way into Indiana. We are doing the little roads thru lots of little towns so didn't make really good time. We also stopped for lunch for over an hour - but that was a nice break. Lots of road construction but the trip seemed fast. We are now parked in the shade of a tree at Wally world.

There is a big moving van parked next to us with a UHaul backed up to it. They are moving furniture from one to the other - but it seems to go both ways. I think one is a local (UHaul) and putting it on a nationwide hauler.

Going to kick back for a while - happy it is only 81 here so the breeze thru the windows makes it cool.

Tomorrow we turn north at Ft. Wayne, IN and should be in MI (at DD#2) in the early afternoon.

I have been flying all day.

Today's theme is very appropriate since we were flying high at 34,000 ft. Our flight was delayed about 30 min. because of bad weather. Our flight path had to be changed and we ended up following the coast instead of the more inland route. Ddil#2 and dgds brought us home and stayed for a little while to visit. It was good to see them again. Our two ddogs were so excited to see us; dMinnie has hardly left my side.

Ds#2 stopped by on his way home from work to pick up his suitcase and extra shoes. He stayed and visited for a while.

We were so tired that after ddil left we got a sandwich for lunch and settled down for a nap. Ddil brought milk, a loaf of bread and some lunchmeat also a few tv dinners so we wouldn't have to go out for groceries for a few days.

They've had a lot of rain here and our grass is so green and has filled in nicely. Ds had also spent time in the front garden weeding and it looks really nice.

Forgive me if I don't respond to everyone right now. My brain just doesn't want to focus. And if I turn my head fast or stoop to pick up something I feel woozy. Dh has already gone to bed, I'm going to wait a little longer to let the ddogs out one last time, then I'll lay down also. I do want to say to Harriet I hope things settle down for you and that the tension eases for your household.

Wore out.

Worked on the one piece that doesn't have a soundtrack to learn it by. It is based on What Wondrous Love is This (I think that is a well-known hymn but it might be a United Church thing.) Except I get to sing all over the map on it from D below middle C to D above it. And the last three pages of my music are written 'on' the bass clef but are actually above middle C so I have to keep track of all the lines on the tails of the notes to count where they are. I was playing it on my piano and finally gave up and wrote in the note names since it was easier than counting ticks on the tails. One would normally say "does that sound right?" and know if they had the correct notes, but in this case, that is no help since the arrangement is full of 'crunches' where two voices sing notes next to each other. Thus, I'm never singing anything that actually sounds all that melodious. Even my last note is a crunch note.

Suffice to say, I hate this piece. And now my throat is sore. (It isn't in my range.)

I'll clean up the kitchen now and print off my sermon so I can go over the edited version and time it.

Waving to all again. My computer is doing that crazy thing again where you can type a letter or two (or a WORD or TWO) and then have to wait to see it appear on the screen. I think this has something to do with my dsl connection. DS says we need a new modem, but it has done this before. (And remember, now I am on a brand new computer!) We are at the very far limit of even being able to receive dsl, and the technician told me thatmight account for some of our problems. It is V E R Y AGGRAVATING, at any rate.

Back from date nite. H. is fussing about various issues and some of it 's the weather I heard another couple doing that at the store too.

I've not felt well today my innerds were doing flip flops not fun. Hormones do that some times to me.

I've put away food.

[God did the watering today.] We had a big thunder storm warning here rain came down in sheets flash flood warning came on my phone. Roads were more like rivers, small tree branches broke and hail like golf balls in higher elevations. It's windy out now. H. had to help with flood patrol keeping the drains cleared out and manning the pumps at work it's in a lower area where the plant is.

Got some knitting done and laundry is current.

Tomorrow some plants need to be moved my part of this project for the patio expansion h. has decided to get that going. I was hoping he would do some fishing & I could pick berries but with the rain today fishing won't be all that good.

Harriet have you tried baking soda on the tick bite? Just a thought.

It's too muggy to think about a walk tonight glad I did it this morning. I felt for the gal up the street doing the yard sale today.
