Harriet...am laughing at the visual of your dad jumping on the couch to claim it while your try to vacuum. I know you're not laughing, but from here it looks just like a 2 yr olds temper tantrum. We constantly have a conversation between all of us who went from 1-12 grade together....There's a core group of about 30 guys and gals....that we need to buy a commune together...we are the children of the 60's after all.....and live together in our old age. We joke that when memories fail us and we fade to that place seniors seem to go, that the only people we would recognize or relate to are our childhood friends.

We have great debates over whether we would still argue or be put out by old unresolved ying yangs that took place many years ago. The question of ol' boyfriend/girlfiend relationships comes up as well.
Oh Pooey Dee...Stop worrying about her and let her see you as you are. There's nothing wrong with you, and if she doesn't like it she can pull up her little girl pants and go home.

We all know what a wonderful woman you are.
My ex-dh's parents use to visit us 4 times a year for a week at a time. My ex-dh was an only child and my dmil was very critical of me. The week before they showed up I would scurry around to point of exhaustion...making sure of things like all my towels were folded and stacked neatly with their edges all going the same way. Wish ya'll could see me rolling my eyes as I write this...Anyway I did this for YEARS until it finally dawned on me that they were in MY HOUSE and they needed to respect me. When we were first married my ex-dh would hide all the liquor bottles before his parents came to visit until I put my foot down and said enough is enough....His parents didn't drink, but we did on occasion and they were aware of it.
Courage Dee, courage...if she complains or gives you a hard time...give her a list of motels and tell her where to find them. It really ....hummmmmm trying to be ladylike about this...bugged me cause I did all the scurrying and my ex-dh never helped. I finally said...they're your parents and they are criticizing me. You see how upset I get before they get here, so you need to do something about it. I think he was scared of them, but he finally got the message and something was said. That and I completely stopped fussing. They had no right coming in to my house and upsetting me, even if they were my elders...after all, they were the visitors. I learned the hard way that we teach people how to treat us. Once I changed my attitude, they did too.
Bernice, hope your daughter is feeling better, glad to hear the KIC is. Okay..ok girl your burst of energy is making it hard on the rest of us humans

For some reason I get the vision of Rosey the Riveter, muscles and all, spinning around in your house.
I spent the day going to my exercise class...boy am I gonna be sore tomorrow....picking up footprints, swimming Willis, reading, cleaning bathrooms and running errands. Sometime during the afternoon I said to Sweetie....I just love being able to do what I want to do and not have to answer to anyone. Nor do I have someone telling me constantly that I could be going my job better. Sweetie said that he loves having me home and that the stress is finally beginning to erase off my face. With time to contemplate, I now realize that last year was much harder on me than I thought. Remember last year I taught very little but handled the behaviors of over 150 kids...many of which needed my constant one-on-one attention and interventions. I loved my kids, but boy, they could suck the energy out of me.
Off to finish some of my desk stuff...waving hi to ya'll. Tomorrow's exercising class doesn't meet until 9:45 instead of 8:30. That means I don't have to set my alarm clock to get up and do my chores before I go....ahhhhhhhh, the pleasures of retirement. Nitters........
