1 MORE MONDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

Only 1 more Monday to go in the month of August -can you believe it?

I was up early to go meet DDIL to pick up dgs7. They stayed at home last night since they weren't getting back from Pittsburgh until 10ish.

Interesting to hear dgs7 tell of his accident, ambulance ride this morning. Seems the other car hitting him & landing on top of him, ripped him out of his seat (even thought they're belted in well) and backwards, trapping his head between his rear tire and axle. He wanted to know if Grandpa had a shot in his elbow every time he went in the ambulance. "You know, it has a 'straw' connected to it". Ah -an I.V. Asked if he had a neck brace or back board. Yep to both. Defined how his helmet was wrecked and the damage to his 'good' engine. He's so grown-up, it's almost hysterical listening to him. And as you said, LucyLee, it's a miracle he wasn't really hurt. Thank goodness for safety equipment.

Good Morning!

Dee - Sooo happy DGS7 wasn't hurt.

LO to school. This morning I only needed to walk him to the school door. He was ready to go on his own from there. Baby step progress. :)

Today focus is living room cleanse. This will be more than a one day effort.

Good Morning Ladies
Ooooh Mondays, so hard to get going after a very busy weekend. The baby shower Saturday was wonderful, my niece was just radiating, following was a family bbq, always fun and good food. Sunday we went to a festival in our old downtown area by the river, alot of crafts, food, the girls loved "fried" oreos, I think they will fry anything now a days, there was alot of fun things for the Dgirls to do other then eat fried foods all day(Thank Goodness:) ).
7.1 woke this morning with a fever, headache and complaining her throat hurt, so have her on the couch, hope it is not strep.
Need to finish up the morning stuff and get my day going. Hope you all are doing good, and have a great day:)

This summer has just sped by, hasn't it Dee. And still each day seems sometimes to go soooooo slow.

So far this morning I've put up the meds for the week and tried to get things back where they belong. I still have to do dishes but I used all the hot water for my shower so have to wait for it to heat. I miss the bigger hot water heater from the 5th wheel - this one is only 6 gallons.

It is chilly and damp here from last night's rain. Only 60 so far but the sun is up over the trees and burning off the fog. High today is expected at 77 but back in the 80's for the rest of the week.

I'd best get some breakfast and then get over to the shop to do something.

How many days a week does LO go to school, Okay? I was thinking you said 3, but obviously don't remember.

DGS7 wanted to make jello so I was going to do that before doing dishes. When I looked, I only have lime and he of course wanted ORANGE! :| Added to my grocery list. He's watching Qubo right now, but starting to get bored.

I was going to do dishes and discovered that I'd waited too long and now have water heating for another 15 or so. It's been pretty cool outside so of course the water cooled off faster after I turned off the heater.

I've gone through cards for today and am ready to GO! :P Have to make a priority of calling dsisil this morning. Rather hoping they'll decide not to come until the end of September, but OTOH the sooner they come, the sooner the visit will be over.

Sent dd a message of encouragement on this, the first day of children back to school. She also shared it with her good friend/co-teacher. Know how challenging it all can be. She has every grade K-8 so gets all kinds! Some years a particular class is a real challenge. Sure Lucy Lee knows of what I speak! Usually about 5th grade. Kindergarteners are usually a fun group. Somehow their schedule got mixed up and dd ended up with 6 classes and her co-teacher 2. But they'll work that out between them.

Only have 8 or 9 more days of Granny duty before school starts. DGS7 is NOT looking forward to school, but he'll get used to it.

Yes, MT the summer has flown and we'll soon be getting ready to head south. :? Not sure I'm going to be 'ready' this year and dh is ready now. That's a reverse!

Harmony: get thee to a doctor and specifically ask about heart attack. Women present differently than men when in the early stages of a heart attack but sense of doom (which I'm hearing in your posts) is one of those signs (as is exhaustion.)

Here's one set of signs:
Heart Attack Signs in Women

* Uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain in the center of your chest. It lasts more than a few minutes, or goes away and comes back.
* Pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach.
* Shortness of breath with or without chest discomfort.
* Other signs such as breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness.
* As with men, women’s most common heart attack symptom is chest pain or discomfort. But women are somewhat more likely than men to experience some of the other common symptoms, particularly shortness of breath, nausea/vomiting and back or jaw pain.
Here's the set of PRE-heart attack signs:
What are pre-heart attack symptoms?

Pre-heart attack or prodromal symptoms are symptoms that occur before a heart attack, generally from about 4 to 6 months to 1 week before (though some people report these symptoms up to 2 years before their heart attack).

Common pre-heart attack symptoms include:

Unusual fatigue
Sleep disturbance
Shortness of breath
Chest pain
Indigestion
Anxiety
Pain in shoulder blade or upper back
You are experiencing unusual fatigue, chest/back pain, you've had indigestion for ages and you are anxious (all of those were from your post last night, except for the indigestion which you've been struggling with over the past months.)

Please consider seeing a doctor if only to put your mind to rest. Mine assured me I wasn't having a heart attack (although the test results on my liver could be interpreted to point to heart) but at least the blood work she called for as a result of my visit has pointed out that something is wrong with me and now we are investigating that.

My next doctor's appointment is tomorrow when I'll get the ultrasound results. Still waiting to hear from the specialist.

I'm up and at it.

Stripped my bed, looked out at the sunshine and decided to wash the two mattress pads. Each one fills the washer so the first is on the line now and the second is in the washer. To heck with waiting for cheap electricity hours.

I've got the duvets and pillows in their covers so when the items are dry, the bed will be quicker to remake. I also burped it (it is a water bed) and wiped down the bag (although it didn't have hardly anything on it because the two pads combine to catch almost 100% of the skin flakes, way better than in the old days and it would be disgusting after four weeks.)

I've taken my shower and dressed. Hair is still wet. Had my tea and chocolate and unloaded the dishwasher.

Of course, I'm exhausted now and can't go back to bed. Will settle into the recliners or just rest on the couch once I've eaten my cereal.

Living Room cleanse Round #1 - removed couch, loveseat, rocking chair, 3 end tables, 2 lamps, 6 quilts and a huge pile of STUFF. Stuff that I didn't know what to do with that was stored (stashed) behind furniture. WHY?

WHY am I keeping/storing STUFF that I don't use?
** Yes, it is perfectly good STUFF.
** Yes, I might find a use for it someday.
** Yes, I might have to buy another one SOME day if I get rid of this one.
Is this how hoarders start? So innocently. Lining the walls of the room with STUFF just because it might be useful SOME day????

DH is constantly bring home STUFF from MPB that was thrown away by customers. This weekend he brought home 3 large insulated coffee mugs (each mug was still in wrapper with price tag on it) and a new pair of jeans with the tags still on them. We don't need more insulated coffee mugs and these pair of new jeans won't fit anyone I know. Yeah, I get it how wasteful it is to throw away items that have never been used and would be useful to SOMEone SOMEday. But I can't take/keep all the stray STUFF into our home. GW to the rescue!

WTG, Kathryn -doing things as you FEEL LIKE IT! A few dollars is worth your well-being.

Good for you, Okay! What a way to clean -don't think I could do that here. Can't begin to move the furniture in the first place! Do have to mop & make sure all the little crevices (that I usually forget about) are dusted and clean. Like fans for instance. We also have to take the screens out of the fantastic fans (have 2). They're way too high for me to reach even on a step stool (on which I am quite unsteady!) Will ask dh to do those next week.

Got the dishes done and have a card to put them away -later. Now to wash my hair (and get dgs some sour cream & onion chips). :P
