perfect title for me today. I really have got to get it together. Every day I say Today will be the day that I am productive, and then I sleep instead.
My ta-da is that I have been taking my medications/supplements regularly since I posted last.
I need to add to that a daily walk. And I need to figure out what are the other daily musts. Somehow I must figure out a way to not be tired all the time. I think it goes with the season. I think I'm really a bear in a human body.

Re: PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION TUESDAY
Progress, not Perfection is perfect for me today! I accidentally in a drowsy state, turned off my dawn simulator as it was "dawning" and slept in until about 5 - 10 min. to 10 a.m.!
Dee, Congratulations on your BS and weight loss.
Kathryn, Thanks for the turkey info, too.
Lynlee, It's good that you volunteer.
OKay, You did GR8 on your Monday cards!
Lilac, Hope your DH stays healthy all winter if he doesn't get his flu shot.
Nancy, Enjoy your granny duty.
How are the hens?
Helia, Is your dog Avatar your pet? If so, the dog is gorgeous!
My PODA for today is:
- To work on paper clutter
- Walk 30 min.
- Maybe afghan crochet if my arm gets to feeling better.
May have overdone it yesterday.
- To hunt in the utility room cabinets for stuff to donate to ARC.
- Sort the mail and perhaps answer mail.
- To strip the bed and wash the sheets, help DH make the bed fresh.
- To read on my de-clutter book.
My Ta Da so far is:
- I wrote DH a short grocery list
- I hung up my clothes laying around the bedroiom
- I re-did some calendar reminders
- I sorted 3 x 5's
- I got DH to get me 4 boxes from the garage. I labeled post-it notes, taped them to the boxes. The 4 boxes say: 1- File, 2- Act On, 3- Stand up & Deliver, and 4- Toss or Recycle
My main to do is to work on paper clutter. There is much of it, it's mostly mine, but Progress, not Perfection will get me through.

Re: PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION TUESDAY
I forgot to say that I really like the theme for today. That is a mantra I picked up from flylady, and it is very helpful since I tend to think that if something can't be done perfectly, it's not worth doing at all. . .
I guess you were tired, Ivy. Yes, that is Pepper, our sweet English Labrador Retriever! She is a beauty - and her temperament is even more beautiful. Her smell is not, though; she certainly still smells like a dog. LOL! You just can't hide that bit about dogs. She really likes being in water, but she is not much of a retriever, despite her breed's name. . . .
That cocked head is classic for her; if I could make the photo larger, you could see her soccer ball. She LOVES soccer balls! A soccer ball is one of her favorite toys, even after she has punctured it and made it flat.
Hmm... I never got to my previous list. I had some study time and tidied MBR. Now, I'm off to get towels.

Re: PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION TUESDAY
I'm in a bit of a rush. I got all my laundry caught up this morning, everything all put away, last load washed and hanging outside right now. Then I got the kitchen tidied up and I spent an hour at my desk.
Dr. appointment today went well. Dr. says I do not have any autoimmune situation with this. I just have plain old thyroid disease. She gave me sheets with all my numbers. Said she'd call in the prescription, but it's almost 4 hours later and I've not heard from the pharmacy. Hit 3 banks on the way home.
I'm due at church by 5 tonight so I'd better go get something done first.

Hello Dear Ladies,
Cloudy overcast day here, temps in the 60's.
Okay, it seems like winter is heading for us early this year. I usually enjoy October weather but this one is cold and damp.
Walked for 35 minutes. Listened to 5 chapters of the Bible and some short podcasts by Max Lucado.
Harriet, thank you for including our family in the joys and concerns.
DH is slowly getting better. Today he got a call from a long time customer about 20 minutes from here and decided he should go with Dson22 over there. Dson22 has worked with his Dad for years and has now become more of the hands of the business as his father's health declines. But DH said for this customer it isn't time yet for Dson22 to be the face of the business.
So he went off with him. They stopped along the way for DH to get out and walk around. DH talked to the customer while Dson did some loading.
When DH got home, he laid down and made phone calls for supplies. Thankful that he is self-employed.
I''ve lost half a pound this week, not bad considering I ate more carbs than I usually do. Dsons did the cooking.
Waving to all!

Re: PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION TUESDAY
Hi everyone! Tonight is Girls' Night Out and dinner will be Chinese. I hope I can convince DD to go to the library as I have books to return, one of which is overdue and cannot be renewed because someone has a hold on it. I am not finished with it, so I will need to put a hold on it after I return it! I have the usual tuesday chore of putting trash/recycles out. I also need to do some pick up for the maids tomorrow. Hopefully I will find my still missing scissors.
Last night on the job hunt front, I made a list of companies that were hiring in NM (from a website devoted to NM jobs). Tonight I also need to follow up on them and maybe send in a few resumes. (Will I have time on Girls Night Out?)
Last night, I got some of DD's room picked up. She did some of it earlier, just ran out of time on it. My meeting with the cat adoption people last night was disastrous. They 'encouraged' one of my favorite volunteers to find another organization to work with. I still need to sew on some of the cat crate covers. I need to have a crochet project ready to go for the camping trip this weekend, also need to get food for it.
I had some progress with my latest foster cat last night. She came out of the sewing room into the hall and meowed for attention. Also, she has been sleeping on the sewing table rather than in her hide-a-bed.

Re: PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION TUESDAY
Got my LOL done -it's sitting staring at me -waiting to be put in its rightful place. Actually I almost can hear it yelling at me now.
Have oatmeal (steel cut) cooking slowly -that's our dinner tonight -had stuffed pork chops, mashed potatoes a tad of gravy and dh had applesauce at lunchtime. Had built up a little bit of dishes again so decided to get them done. When I did all the dishes earlier my back began to scream at me (right between my shoulder blades on my spine. DH rubbed it good for a few and it was better -I was trying to avoid taking aceteminophen. When I did these few dishes, did not take long for back to start again.
Timer just dinged -for the oatmeal. I never can seem to get the flames just right for it to gently simmer.
Five more minutes.......
I'm sipping a cup of sugar free french vanilla capuccino. Bought it at an A mish Store a few weeks ago. It is so good! I am hoping we have to go back that way so I can get more before we leave -but it's a good 25 miles from here. I've tried the sugar free cafe's in the store but they don't taste as good as this for whatever reason.

Re: PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION TUESDAY
It has turned into a gorgeous day here. Now have the screen door (patio slide) open now and the heat's been off a few hours. Supposed to rain again tomorrow though and Friday. We have a large Memorial Service here for our dfriend, Virginia, Saturday afternoon. Looks like the weather might be pretty good then -do hope so. Believe that will be the final event in our rec hall. Then the water will be turned off and sprinkler heads removed.
DH is out back putting a little angled lip on the back of our shed -toward our berm. Not really supposed to but no one should be back there. DH figures he can then hang his larger tools there without them being rained on. Beautiful day to it. Now if it would only be this nice when he has to do some winterizations. All too often it's raining and/or cold.
Actually dh's shed ends up being the "Community Shed"
Everyone comes & borrows from it. Can't tell you how many times he's bought something because 'someone' might be able to use that.

Re: PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION TUESDAY
Yes Dee my thyroid was way under active like zero did not even register when they tested it!
Hens are fine, gkids and neighbor kid has been enjoying giving them some treats, scratch, banana peel h. saved for them and greens.
Hens look sort of bedraggled but have been checking out the nest boxes. I got them an ear of corn at the store the need high protein for feather replacement. They like leftover cold cereal. Grandkids & friend caught bugs for the hens they thought that it was loads of fun doing that!
They will get some oats in with the pellets tomorrow I put a hand full in with tomorrows rations for em.
We made cookies topped with 3 skiddles each learned how to you share one pack of em with three kids!
Lunch is done.
Errands are too.

Re: PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION TUESDAY
Deb, I will agree with you that suddenly getting cold seems to put me in hibernating mode, too. I watch my cat seek out soft, warm places and circle into a ball and I'm jealous! Just brainstorming that daily sleepiness might be helped by upping your B-complex especially B12. Harmony just got an injection of B-12 and she might be able to let you know whether it is giving her any more energy. (She sounds like a laundry day dynamo today I notice.) Also, thyroid which we seem to discuss so often, can be a culprit in daily sleepiness. I have a spray sublingual of B-12 and sometimes spray that to get my energy level up. I've also come to the conclusion that sometimes I'm just not ready to tackle a change in schedule and have to wait until I am. Sometimes I need an "attitude adjustment"
that I must come by honestly, in my own time. I can't "make" it happen, although pondering it and "sleeping on it" does move me closer I think.
Dee, congratulations on that much weight loss over the summer. That's great - I was way slower than that for the 10 I wanted to lose.
Errand day and included chicken feed from Tractor Supply (50 lb bag, Nancy - that's all they sell here - the man puts it in for me and HRH takes it out at home). Picked up the new issue of Mary Jane's Farm while there. Also a birthday card (I find TS has a wonderful greeting card selection).
Good sharing concept, Nancy.
