Hmm....he went by so must be doing someone else's down the road first. Think I'll set my timer for 10 minute rounds in the remaining packing. Need to get it done! DH said we could be on the road by 9:30 or so tomorrow. Imagine I'll have to take him to the fire hall for a shower tonight. That's fine! Perhaps we'll even slide by to see DGS once more before we go! There is no school today so the other dgks might be home too.

Sunshine here after a cool morning.

Glad to hear our villagers are surviving Sandy.

I put the flannel sheets on yesterday, looks like Fall and Winter are finally here in this corner of the world. Still working on laundry to today as I seem to have more of it than usual. The changing weather means we wear something heavy in the morning and then change to something lighter in the afternoon when temperatures are again on the warmer side.

Been using my computer time to do research for Dsister-in-law. She doesn't have a computer, which seems so far out in this day and age. So I've been looking up what she should avoid eating because of her illness and what she should eat. How her situation will change and stuff like that and then mailing it out to her. I don't know if her library has much for internet or if she feels like going there. She says her doctors just seem to rush her through appointments so she doesn't get a chance to ask very many questions.

On the baby feedings, I breast fed mine too. Six months was the average age that they started on cereal. I remember one of them started sooner, and one started a bit later and the others were at 6 months.

I'm going to continue working on laundry and try to get some bathrooms cleaned today too.

Think I'm now in limbo as far as packing goes. Perhaps when dh gets back we'll start loading the car. I am really anxious to get as much loaded as we can. Then I can see what I have to do in here yet. Want to vacuum as long as I have time. Have a few things to cover for the winter. Looking for our electric pest repellants. Only have found one and I know we have 4. No idea where they might be hiding. Have just a few things hanging in my closet that have to be put in last -don't want to forget them. DH's suit & good jacket are among them. Last year we decided to not take the suit back and forth and of course he needed it. So we're back to transporting it. Want to get him a nice sport jacket that he can wear. Perhaps that wil be his Christmas gift this year -IF I can find something.

Right now it's pretty nice out -no rain for the moment. Glad because dh is winterizing that RV and it would be nice for him if he doesn't have to do it in the rain.

Think I'll have a piece of chicken parm for lunch. Maybe we'll go out for supper. There's a little parm left and some bean soup.

Home again. I might be going for a nap soon since I'm quite tired despite spending most of the day sitting in a car.

The weather here is more cloudy than on the Seaway. But still warm. We had to laugh at the leaves on our property. Usually, the two maples, two apple and oak trees on the corner lot drop, cover it and then blow down the block to the family on the inside corner. They have two massive oaks on their front lawn so we figure they don't notice our leaves. Yesterday morning the side lot was covered with leaves, today it is clear but instead they all blew into the gardens and under the fir trees on the front lawn. Plus a big pile gathered in front of the garage (those must have blown over the house and then dropped on the driveway and wind currents tucked them up against the door. I've swept those away so they won't blow into the garage when the wind shifts back to normal.

In the back yard, our pattern is to let the leaves drop from our oak and maple (plus whatever blows into the yard from neighbours to the west) and then rake them onto a tarp and drag and dump the tarp into our extra garden. When we are done, the garden is covered by 3' deep x 5' x 25' pile of leaves, held in place by prevailing winds from the west and a giant hedge to the north and east (the house stops the winds from the south from moving them.) This year, this pattern will hold since the giant hedge protected the back yard from the wind and all the leaves are right where they were yesterday morning.

Dh will be upset because he was hoping the hurricane might blow the leaves away in a new direction and we wouldn't have to rake at all. Instead we have front yard raking as well as back yard raking to do this year. At least nature has shown us we can dump the front yard leaves under the firs so we don't have to drag them far.

Glad you're home safe 'n sound, Kathryn. Our leaves used to mostly blow across the street -nice plan nature had!

DH just called me -from the ROOF! He had been putting on new AC covers. I had heard a noise but didn't pay too much attention. CAlled to see if I could possibly come get the ladder that had blown over and get it set back up. It wasn't easy for me -pretty much one handed, but I finally managed. Told me he 'hates' this ladder because it moves way too much. Thankfully it didn't fall when he was on it!

Want to go through a decorative box on the coffee table -that I put in things to be filed. Just want to check for anything that needs to go to FL with us.

Called a couple to see if they would like to meet us for dinner. She's going to call back at some point this afternoon.

Glad to see CI's from more of the SHE's and all is safe.

I added SIX more medical appts to my schedule over the coming week. talking to myself.....Blessings. They are blessings. Not interruptions. Someday I will get a day at home to get things done and after all these appointments, I will appreciate it soo much.

LO is now scheduled for 2 more hearing tests (before & after surgery), surgery prep, allergy testing and surgery to put tubes in his ears & take out adenoids.

This morning I heard a "crack" in my mouth as I was chewing. It didn't take long for the tooth affected to make itself know. That side of my head is throbbing and it only took one time of touching that tooth to make sure I won't ever attempt to touch it again!. OUCH! After I got LO through his doctor appointment, I called our dentist and they are going to work me in this afternoon. I thought my pain tolerance was high (had root canal with no pain meds).....but this HURTS. I'm thinking about asking the dentist if he can fix it without touching it. Or maybe I'll ask for him give a pain shot BEFORE he touches it.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you who are experiencing winds and rains, etc.. from Sandy. I hope you'll remain safe and for those who have power and internet, I'm thinking a lot about you.

Dee, I'm glad you were there with the ladder for your DH! Have a safe trip when you leave, too!

Kathryn, Sitting in the car can be exhausting, too. I hope you get your nap in, too.

Blessed, I didn't know you played piano! Do you? I took lessons for several years, but no longer have a piano.

OKay, Wow, you have a lot of medical appts on your schedule. Yes, Blessings are blessings and not interruptions. Hope you'll get an appt.-free day soon! Good luck on your tooth. I'm so sorry this hurts like this for you. I hope he gives you a pain shot first, too.

I'm sitting here. I'm slightly embarrassed. My post-it note has yesterday's PODA on it and it did not get done.
It is:
1- Laundry (but today it'll be sheets, for sure!
2- Dust
3- Dust mop
4- Walk 30 min., but yesterday I walked 15 min., so did half-a-poda thing.
Might just do housework in place of walking today, too. So my Conga will be today, as I Tune Tuesday.

Be safe, you Villagers in and near Sandy. I have pen and email pals in all the affected states. I've been in touch with one from Delaware, who kept her power. Just winds and rain for them now. All other pals, I'm not sure of. Some had told me their power and possible sewage plant were going out. I hope the next couple of days pass swiftly and things can start getting back to normal for everybody.
