Celebrating Monday!

Blessed - I rarely give it a thought who does what with each other. There are cazillion activities between sis-in-law, sister, neices, DMIL, etc that I am not involved. I don't think that they intentionally leave someone out, it is just usually a spur of the moment decision to do something. I am 99% sure that I would be included if I had any desire to go. I try to join the various family group activities a few times a year and always enjoy the time together, but I chose to not join in very often because they do so much together. I would never get anything done if I did! (((Hugs)) I never want anyone to feel left out.

** Breakfast was cooked/served/cleaned up.
** noticed package in the STACK of paperwork....it was my Christmas gift (fitbit). got it configured and started using it.
** Turkey bacon put into individual bags for freezer
** Challah bread cut/bagged into meal size portions and into freezer
** plans for today discussed with DH
** DSIS-in-law called with update on newest family member (DNephew DSon)

OKay - Just realized that I didn't really get much for DS13... need to think quick! May send DS20 to the game store to buy the one game he wanted.

Nancy - the Roos seem to be getting noisier... do I hear a pot calling their name?

Blessed - I have 3 DSis's, only grew up with 1 of them and we are not close at all, in fact we are more like oil and water, but then again living so far from my DFamily for so long, I guess I am not one to answer your question.

Dee - BFF (the Lurker) lives in Scottsville and called me this morning to tell me about it, so sad!

Villagers - Good Morning!

I have gotten up and had 1 cuppa so far. BFF1 called to wish me a Merry Christmas, she is not feeling well and sounds awful, unfortunately she has 22 for dinner tomorrow. I call DP/BFF to check with her on changes to my Christmas gifts and to see if we are doing Dinner. She asked if we were going with them or going to meet them there, they are planning on being there at 8am, and it is almost 1 hr away. I told her that we will be there around 10am. I have also promised to make my Mashed Potatoes that they love so much.
I need to get DS20 up so that he can run to the store for me.

d kathryn mine are local and are nice but dh gets hurt and dd younger as well by this. sorry his family did that with you! I have always felt that family is family blood or not but dd older said that that is my thinking and not many others feel that way. I have tried to understand it but I can't grasp it but have to accept it even if it hurts to watch dd get hurt and dh be frustrated and hurt.. dh won't say anything which in my heart I felt he should of from the beginning. I don't comprehend it. But today is Christmas eve and I have to let it go for the sake of my d girls and dh. It is Christmas after all and I can't let someone else's actions affect my and my kids spirit. d mil thinks every one is always apart of everything but she has been part of the problem, by not asking why her other grand children aren't at functions. it is what it is and I can still love them as they are, I just get hurt for dd as she is the only girl and grandchild left out of so many activities and the other kids try to keep it a secret or say you should come to ... and stop I am sure so not to hurt dd. They are nice don't get me wrong but may not realize it.

Thanks for the insight everyone!!!. I was really curious, trying to see it from the sister's point of view and a mom's point of view with daughters and daughter in laws. It gives me real understanding. thank you

Blessed - I think that because we live so far from any relatives, my DS's don't realize they aren't involved... that and they are boys.

Helia - you are doing great!

DS20 got up really easy this morning, of course I did sit on his bed and bounce up and down until he said "Ok Mom I'm up, can I please get some coffee?" He got up helped figure out where he should go, checked to make sure we had dinner rolls in the freezer, and got out of the house in under 45 minutes... a record for him! He really loves his baby DBro. He asked if I wanted him to also pick up something else for DFS, and I said no, I'm sorry but I still feel very suspicious and feel that his treatment of us the last 6 months is horrible.

I really need to get moving...

2nd load is in the washer; the potato water has been made for the cinnamon rolls. I'm waiting for it to cool down. I'm using my dmom's recipe! Homemade cinnamon rolls Cmas morning was a sometimes tradition in MY family.

Dfriend B's ds is here working with my ds to find housing for next year (2013-2014). B's ds got into UM Engineering too, and they are going to try to room together next year. However, University run dorms don't allow freshmen (by # of years on campus) to room with upper classmen. . . . Ergh. SO, they're looking at apts. with plans to purchase meal plans in the dorms. That way 2 19-year-old boys (dfriend B's ds is old for his grade) won't need to be responsible for cooking AND cleaning up the kitchen afterward. I just KNOW how that would go with ds. I'm already a little concerned that ds will need to help keep the bathroom clean. . . .

Though it seems early, they're actually a little late in this process - but they had to wait for dfriend to hear of acceptance from the Univ. first; many apts. have already been leased.

DD, DH and I just returned from the (paid) fire hall about 1 mile down the street. Took them a platter of cookies with a note to honor the fallen firefighters up home and to thank them for the job they do. It was already their topic of discussion as it's on all the national news channels by now. DS-A just had lunch with one of those killed. Know he's feeling it big time. At any rate the cookies were much appreciated.

DD got her eyes examined and when we left the W mart parking lot it was a ZOO. Lots of 4-letter words flying and horns honking. Was going to get gas (It's $3.12 right now) but decided to just plain get out of there! DD has to go to a specialist now because a spot in her eye is growing. DS-R has the same condition in his eye and that was giving him a lot of trouble this summer (becomes very inflamed). It's called: pterygium.

I need to do something productive -feeling a lot like I did 2 Fridays ago. But I know the healing is positive activity and prayer.

(((Dee))) I know you are feeling it big time. I'm sure a few 'what ifs' are entering your mind.

Back from the shopping. Made 6 stops in 80 minutes but still don't have sausages! There's a run on them. Also couldn't get one item for dh but it doesn't really matter.

Since getting home I've been overwhelmed with phone calls. I think a nap is out of the question.

I'm having some soup and crackers now.

Dh had a 'part-two' even with this flu and so the two items I asked him to do were not finished by the time I got home. He's working on that now.

I have a timing problem - too much needs to be done between 4 and 5:30.

As an update to my J&C today -4 houses were destroyed, the shooter was located (dead) near the scene and all the names have now been released. One of the killed firemen was also a local police officer and the other one killed was also a 911 dispatcher, (he was 20) which means he'll be a friend of our dsgd24. The only name they haven't released is that of the shooter and sadly they now think this was set as a trap for the 1st responders.
