Re: Celebrating Monday!
I'm torn is putting together a PODA for today. There are the things I want to do, the things I need to do and the things I have to do. Maybe I can mix in a little bit of all.
Want to do = stay on schedule. Everything seems to just flow along when following the schedule.
Need to do = paperwork...mounds and stacks of it
Have to do = buy LO something for Christmas! I have focused on getting gifts for the other grandchildren but LO hasn't had his turn yet. Today is it!

Re: Celebrating Monday!
Booksaver is brilliant. When I mentioned to dh last night about using tealights, he said I couldn't because the wax was different and liquifies so will spill in whatever holder we had. So, in a tea cup would leave the mess of wax to clean up if someone jiggled the cup.
On the other hand, in a styrofoam coffee cup, we don't have to worry about spillage!
I tested it out this morning and it works just fine.
Yay!!!!!
(It doesn't solve the passing the light issue since you can't pass the light from one tealight to another but if I intersperse tea lights and regular candles, I think this will work and I can give the regular candles to adults.)

Re: Celebrating Monday!
Hello from the last 75 min of Christmas eve here.
Waving to OKay and Kathryn and all who run in as time permits.
Shop was chaotic with people when we got there this am. I had a please bring list from dd - and needed to get the things. took one of the large ladies I know and saw on my way , and waited for her to finish.
packed up and left about 3 or so. Neighbour will mow grass and mainly weeds while I am away. I do wish he doesn't chose to mow on christmas day - he has done that before. yes dishes got washed before I left.
Traffic was somewhat light and well behaved. Hoping I didn't get a speeding ticket after one bridge - just going with the flow and ekk to fast I noticed too late. I will have plenty of company if I do.
Got here ... dd and family at movies. My key no longer works. They say its the same lock but it would not turn. Anyway. folded the washing off the line. brought my things to front and back porch and veranda. walked my dog a little. sat on a front chair and chilled. Petted dogs. Biggest cuddler award goes to lab retriever though all got a bit of lap time. 90min after I arrived they were due back.
A nice christmas eve meal was in the slow cooker. Most are in bed. I'm up in the atic. Just remembered to close the vernetians as that 4.30 sunrise over the bay shines right in on my face at far end of the room. Been there done that many times before.
Wishing you all a successful christmas eve - just the essentials. Don't sweat the small stuff.
And to those not celebrating christmas - Hope you have a great day too.

Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.

Re: Celebrating Monday!
I'm up. Still in dressing gown (I read Booksaver's idea on my phone while lying in bed so had to try it out immediately.)
I slept reasonably well. Was up once in the night and woke once with a weird leg twitch but fell back into a deep sleep. It was good thing I set an alarm for 8 hours of sleep because it was what woke me up.
I'm making my tea now and then will get going.
Dh is stronger again today. He's on the exercise bike now. He system is still gurgling but he doesn't feel nauseous. And he was anxious to get out of bed when he woke up. He says his body was done with lying around.

Re: Celebrating Monday!
Good morning! Thanks for starting us off, OK. Yes, I often feel that way with my PODA. It's hard to separate out the wants, the needs, and the must dos.
Glad you found a solution you like, Kathryn. There were a lot of great ideas thrown out here; this is a fantastic place for problem solving of that sort!
I am up early (relatively speaking today); Kohls opened 10 minutes ago, so I'll be heading over there soon to get PJ pants for the kids, maybe for dh and myself too, although we don't need more. I checked our freezer last night, and we have enough tamales for tonight, so no need to stop by TJ. We do need salsa, however, but someone can just walk over to WF to get some.
Last night, dh helped me with the itunes card for dbro.; I couldn't find an email option last time I was on their website. I tried to buy a gc at Walgreens Saturday, but they couldn't activate their gift cards.
Now, that is all done! I also ordered gifts for dfriends' little girls in Calif. I had wanted to check with the dfriends first, and they called us back late Saturday afternoon. Those gifts will get there late, but that will be fine. These friends will appreciate the thought. I also finished my book last night! So, I'm on to my book club book next -- or perhaps, I'll read one of the many books on my "to read" list first. I want to read Les Mis (all the way through; I've started it in the past) before seeing the film -- but I'm not sure that will happen, and maybe that is actually NOT a good idea if the film doesn't stick to the book; the musical strays from the book a bit as a dfriend, a literary purist, has told me. I'm not sure I'd care that much. . . .
OK, I'm heading out after I brush my teeth.

Re: Celebrating Monday!
I'm up and dressed. We're all rather listening to our scanner here, keeping abreast of a situation up home (details in J&C).
Have to take DD for an eye appointmnet in a short while. We're going to get whatever groceries we need first. Trying to beat the rush.
Just shampooed my hair and am s2s and meds taken. Now I need to get some breakfast and coffee and get myself going.

Re: Celebrating Monday!
Enjoy your time with dfamily, Lynlee. I'm wondering where you are with 4:30 a.m. sunrise? I'm not remembering the sun rising so early in the Australian locations we visited, but it could be that I have just forgotten. . . .I will never forget the bird calls, however, especially the magpies.
