Done washing, have bed remade and most of the clean clothes folded.

We are taking every sweat pant, sweat shirt, long johns, jacket and hoodie we have with us. Temps below freezing every night and highs in the 50's during the day but with wind. Hope it gets better next week or we will be spending a lot of time inside our MH.

I brought in a cooler and have milk, juice and bagels in it for snacks. DH turned the crock pot on in the garage to heat up the soup for dinner tonight.

Next up is put clean dishes away, spiff up the kitchen and finish folding the clothes.

Helia: Dh and I are looking forward to the weekend's promised warm weather too!

Heading off for our walk now. It won't be as nice as earlier but dh wanted to get some things done on his repaired machine before heading off.

The weekly kitchen chores are all done now, so I've accomplished something at long last. The walk will add two more items to my finished list - exercise and pick up mail.

~~~waving Hi to all~~~~
As soon as I delivered LO to school, then i jumped in vehicle with DH and went to town to shop while he went to 2 doctor offices for his weekly shots. I had a loooong "buy this" list that took over 2 hours to gather. Yuck. LO has been invited to 3 birthday parties so I had to find gifts that fit each child. Honestly.....none of these children NEED anything and everything I could find in the toy aisles seem to be a waste of money and effort to purchase. I was frustrated to find myself buying something just because that is the acceptable thing to do. If this is all I have to whine about....I need to count my blessings
Hi everyone! I am thankful for emergency savings. I may have to use some soon. My resolution this year (just like every year) is to have more fun. So far, not happening, but I have a year to go! Last night I went to a board meeting of the animal org. Got resolution on a situation that needed handling. When I got home, I found that one of the maids had FIXED MY BATHTUB!!! It has been draining slow forever and Liquid Plumr and Draino had given only temporary help. Best of all, she left the drain plug out so I could see how it was done and I can fix it myself if it happens again. I was so happy I wrote a note to their manager. (Now I just need to buy some stamps to mail it).
This morning, I turned on my bedside lamp and it BROKE into 3 pieces! Guess what I need to buy tonight. I have made progress on fixing a mess with DD10's bank account. I need some documentation from XDH, but he is fast at getting that sort of thing done. I have a church meeting instead of art class tonight. That is good though, I will have time to pick up a lamp. I have a long list of things to do. I have an assignment at payroll, but a migraine is making it difficult. Have taken meds (another thing for which I am thankful).
Oh, I forgot the "thankful" theme. What a great idea!
I'm thankful for so many things. As dh and I have gone through our boxes of photos and letters and books and some plain ol' junk the last weeks, I've been reflecting on how very good my life has been. I'm thankful for the grace that has been given to me so far! I'm also thankful for this week of milder temps. These warmer temps have come with some sunshine which has also been very cheering for me. :)
In and out of the Dr.'s office in about 1:05; not too bad. They were running 30 minutes behind. I haven't done much since I've been home -- and I need to leave again in about 30 minutes to take dd14.
I started the breadmaker before I left but came home to find it in pieces on the counter. :?: I assume something went wrong and dd17 felt strongly about taking it apart. She has gone to a meeting, so I'll ask her when she gets home. I think it may be un-fixable as it looks like some metal pieces are now bent. I'll let dh assess the fixability aspect, though; he does surprise me with what he can resurrect. I'm going to try baking the dough and see how it comes out. It looks kind of dry right now.
Off to get the beef going.
How is the ceiling issue, Elizabeth?
Also thankful for meds!
OKay next time you find yourself in that situation, how about baking up some buying a bag of candy and wrapping that up with a coupon to take the birthday child and LO off on a playdate to the movies/gymboree/petting zoo (boy that shows how urban I am!)/bowling.
Back from my walk and a frustrating time on hold with Sirius XM radio.
Dh is heading off to pick up his Chinese food so I need to decide what I'm having for my dinner. Both my stand-bys have gluten but I don't want to go to the bother of cooking a full dinner for myself (including cleanup) when he's bringing in take-out for himself.
For some reason, we had trouble settling on something for LO to take for show-N-tell tomorrow. This week's letter is N so the show-n-tell item has to start with N
He suggested a Needle.....I veto'd that idea.
He suggested a Nail.......ditto with the veto
We looked through his toys but didn't come up with anything that started with N
He suggested taking his Nintendo.......which received another veto by me.
We finally settled on Noodles....which is rather uninspiring to 5 year olds, but it was the best idea we have come up with. Maybe a :idea: will strike us later.
Since I had the noodle package out and open, I decided to make chicken & noodles for supper. Everything is out and now I'm waiting for the water to boil so I can cook the noodles. The chicken is from a can. Mashed potato flakes will act as thickener. chicken base will be the flavor enhancer
I have gotten the eggs and we've found 4 nice lg. ones today, one is dark brown none of the Easter eggers ones that lay the green eggs have laid in some thing like two weeks ever since that cold snap; dgson said give 'em until Mon. grandma then get the red ones if they've not laid by then!
Cookie time is over that was fun for dgd we mixed up the dough then after lunch baked up a few. She has not done that for a while. I'm thinking that we might need some spring themed cookie cutters. It took us a while to find the cookie cutters.
I raked up the scratched leaves the chickens had around the flower beds in the back yard it was great arm exercise and I raked the path out of the chicken run too.
We have a bit of snow falling lightly but not sticking it's 36* outside today and cloudy here now.
How about quarters for the vending machine there is an arcade here that is a fav. place for bday's and kids w/ families go there a lot, or a skate swim coupon.
nickle
Order pizza here tonight. Glad for a long weekend, off tomorrow, Sat and Sunday.
I'm thankful I have resources (financial, mental, working part time) to help dmom and dsis. Thankful that we have a good life and are able to send dkids to college w/o us or them borrowing. Thankful for dh, who helps me keep it all together somehow.
