Alright, I'm back and changing that goofy first try at a post which got interrupted...and I hit the submit button instead of the cancel. I did cuop this time first.

I've been in the MBR today. I just couldn't figure out how to leave it unfinished and go to the next space. It took me a good many hours just to do my dresser, and I am super satisfied with the results. I have 1 garbage bag to toss, and a bunch already taken to the trash bin outside. A couple more pieces for GW.

I am not good walking away from something that is not 100% complete, just to get more variety in my day...that feels so disjointed to me. So, as Harriet pointed out yesterday, there was my answer. I guess I am a plodder, start at point A and work completely through till I get to Z, no jumping around. Once I get the big purges done things might get easier and I can go where I want.

Besides that, I did some paperwork, reconciled a bank account; made out payroll. But I best get back to it, DH should be home soon.

Cards are put away now.

I also typed up my handwritten notes from the Boxing Day party. I had four sheets on the fridge and everyone referred to the list and did whatever tasks they wanted. It occurred to me that I should write these up for next year. It was much easier than having to answer the question "What should I do next?" and the kids made notes on the papers too (things I forgot or clarifying.)

I'm 1/3 of the way through typing up the minutes from last night. Dh put on the radio for the drive home show and I got caught up listening to some of that so have stalled on my progress. He's put in the order for dinner and will go over in a few minutes.

I'm freezing cold, just can't warm up. Not sure how much is the low calorie diet, how much is sitting all day instead of being active and how much is tiredness but it is hard to concentrate. I've been struggling all day. BTW: I'm wearing long underwear, wool sweater & jeans, leather, fur lined slippers and a wool shawl that has excellent coverage.

Just a quick CI, I threw my back out this morning while scraping the inch thick ice off my car. DS20 is seriously in the dog house because he was up but when I asked him to help he said "just let the wind blow it off."   So now he is waiting on me hand and foot (whether he likes it or not), he had to help me change into my night sweats, get my pain meds, and my heated neck pillow (I also have my heat pad on my back).

I am thankful I planned toes up tomorrow or at least most of the day.

I'm wearing my wrist brace. Just need to correct my typos as I go is all!

DH & I went to my dr. office to get new insurance card photocopied front & back. The office gal will investigate if my new insurance co. is still in my dr,'s network. Am hoping so! It could be a substantial extra cost to me if he is not. I don't want a new dr., I'm only on this plan till 12-31-13 anyway, as they're booting pre-Medicare spouses off the plan. Guess they want to save on costs.

We used one of our The Olive Garden Christmas gift cards & went to lunch. I had gnocchi chicken dumpling soup with salad and bread sticks. DH had gnocchi soup, like me, but shrimp Alfredo. It was delicious!

It's still foggy here, but was sunny where my dr. is located 18 miles away. Will be foggy until forecast rain on Wed. Yeah! Will get rid of air inversion. :)

Ta Da:
s2s, dressed and make-up
emailed a widow who lost her DH a year ago today
did the dr. errand
sorted mail
recorded a deposit from work
worked on upcoming calendar
let DH watch whatever he wants on TV
emailed Ddil/Dson for photo post-card of family to frame. Thanked them. :) :)

To Do:
write a BFF who's DH died a year ago today.
light housework
need to journal
will read on a book on writing
will try to declutter something
will set my dawn simulator, write a to do list
plan out the weekend
put my house journal back on the eating bar, where I get to it easier
floss, get ready for bed

scattered, So sorry you threw your back out! :( I hope you'll heal soon!

Kathryn, You're coming right along typing those minutes up. WTG! :)

Harmony, Being a plodder sounds like a good trait to me! :) It sounds productive. Like you have stick-to-it-tiveness until the job's done.

Harriet, Your cards displayed that way sound lovely! :)

Blessed, DD's cheesecake sounds scrumptious! :) My own DD does a GR8, too! ;)

MT, I wish you could send some sunshine up North, here, where it's foggy/cold! :o

Elly, Lasagna sounds divine! :) Now I'm hungry again!

Waving to Dove, :D Twins' Mom, :D Dee, Sunny and the rest of you. :D

Have a nice evening! :D

Only one reg. size egg today.
I've been doing what I can during commercials this after noon while watching a movie and I've spiffed the counters, so it looks a lot better. Amazing what you can do in 2-3 min. segments of time isn't it?

I do that too, Nancy, when I'm too tired to keep working steadily.

I got the top of the dresser finished. Then I did the end table. Gee some of that stuff in the drawers was old! Another couple cans of stuff thrown away. And I found some stuff I'd been missing. Oh, my the dust. I dust the top regularly, but this time I spent time to take the glass top off and clean underneath, stuff like that, and the pleated lampshade. Don't buy pleated lampshades, the pleats fill up with dust bunnies.

Now I need to decide, do I clean the bedroom, the trim, the fan, the blinds, etc., or move on to the bathroom....

I should be finishing up the minutes (I did finish the financial part of the meeting before dinner) but I'm on the treadmill trying to wake and warm up.

And walk off the extra piece of pizza I had. Yes, I know it has gluten but I figure one or two breaks a week on top of my daily cereal should be ok. I didn't figure on the extra piece, though I have enough points for it. I sat for 30 minutes after finishing my well chewed two pieces (a regular serving for me) and found I still wanted the third piece so I had. it. I'm so cold and seriously wonder if it is a calorie issue especially after a regular helping didn't help at all (nor being under a blanket with a heat bag.) Anyway, I've warmed up enough on the treadmill that I've taken off my sweater. I'd take my jeans off too but that means untying my shoes and I'm incredibly lazy.

So instead, I'm pretending I'm in Australia where it is almost 110*F.

At dinner, dh and I realized this is the first January cold that we've been home for since 2007. That was the year we spent 2 weeks in Minnesota in January (you don't do that twice!) Anyway, I'm wondering if I've lost my ability to cope with the extreme cold since my normal tricks aren't working. Tomorrow I'll wear my dress boots inside since that keeps my ankles warmer than just long underwear and socks. And I might start wearing a head scarf.

Actually tomorrow the temperatures should be near freezing and then drop back below zero for the whole of the following week. So I'll make sure I run a lot of errands over the weekend.

I was at the library longer than I planned, from 9 until almost 2. Lots of interruptions made it feel like I wasn't getting much done. I guess I did enough, I have an overview of the types of things we have to sell so I can think about how to display it. I'm sorry to say that most of it is not very good quality. Oh well, it will be very colorful all spread out in the blank white room, and that will be fun on a cold winter Saturday.

I stopped at the bank to deposit some cash donations, and then went to the McD's drive-thru for a burger. Did a few chores around the house but could not get through the afternoon without a short nap.

Thought I was done with my part of the newsletter, but the editor asked me to make a few DPCs this afternoon and re-send a piece she lost or deleted too quickly.

We were sunny today and 37 degrees but very windy. That felt warm enough, though, to clean out my car before the more normal cold temps hit this weekend. I'll need to start wearing my hat again.

I ate lunch so late that now I'm not hungry for supper, so I asked DH what he wanted. Turns out he had a really late lunch, too, and he doesn't want anything either. We have some nice big naval oranges, I'll enjoy one of those in a little bit.

Quiet day here in the Village and for dh and I also. Temp. is down to 60* here now. We had a gray rainy day yesterday. It was sunny today, but cool since the rain.

After a normal morning with a.m. routine and a general pickup/put away I had a lazy afternoon doing some computer stuff. I deleted a few hundred emails then installed a portable dvd writer on the small laptop and downloaded some music cds so I could listen to music while visiting you all here! ;)

Harmony, you are such a good worker....I wish I were more like you!

Talked to ds#3 on Wed evening and found out his official advancement ceremony will be on Feb. 4th. He still wants us to come visit so I think we will be leaving on Fri Feb 1. He said he and ddil want to pay for us to stay one night on the way so we don't drive 16 hours straight through. Ds#2 stopped yesterday to see us on his way home from work and he said he would stay here to house sit for us so we don't have to put ddogs in kennel for two weeks while we're gone. I'm so grateful we have a caring family!

I talked to my dcousin last night and she and her dh are going to come visit us on Sunday afternoon. We've got dinner menu all planned. Tomorrow I'll do my normal Saturday weekly routine and we'll be all ready for Sunday afternoon.

Hello to Ivy....hope your wrist feels better.
Harmony, you are such a good worker....I wish I were more like you!
Scattered, hope your back is better quickly
Kathryn, maybe some extra protein will help with warmth.
Harriet, your card wreath sounds very pretty.
