((Harmony and dh)) My dfriend S2 is on a serious journey to "break the habit of saying yes," in her very words this morning. Seems your dh needs to break that habit too. I bet he's a very outward-focused considerate guy, which maybe got him into this habit in the first place.

I'm home alone, so we'll see how this now works as I try to get some things done around the house. Maia is sleeping now at my feet; she tends to be restless unless someone is with her. If I have to, I'll just throw her in her crate and let her whine and yap all she wants.

The above listed are done! I also cleared my stuff off the MBR cedar chest. Pup seems settled outside in her pen, laying under the foot stool after having had fun chewing on some of the flowers and shrubs. . . . I'm heading back downstairs to get that bathroom spiffed.

Why is dental care so expensive?

Sadie - if you find the answer, please let me know. Although, the father of LO classmate is currently in dental school and posting on FB that he needs *patients" to practice on. I guess that would be one way to help someone out and reduce dental cost. I haven't taken him up on the offer, ?yet?

Strep is going around again in school. ***VBSigh*** I just happened to run across the medical cost from the last time that LO had strep. The total charge was $903.30!!!! Although insurance took care of most of it, we paid $67.49. SMH.

I spent several hours playing with the presentation software in prep for tomorrow. Need to read over the script lots more times since it isn't my words and some parts make me stumble.

Dh came on as a meeting participant and we played about with lighting in order to get the least amount of glare. I'm lighting a Christ Candle as part of the opening and dh had me move it to where the white candle was visible against a dark cabinet instead of invisible against the cream coloured wall.

I'm worried all this will be for naught because the church I'm doing tomorrow is planning on using an iPad. I asked the organizer there to try signing in tonight to see if she needs to load any software.

LO is home from school. I asked DH if there was anyway he could take care of LO so I can continue to focus on paperwork. Thankfully nothing major is happening at MPB so DH took LO with him.

Sadie, if your washer is a front loader, check under the bottom of the rubber gasket that fits up against the door once shut. Many of them collect water right there. I have to lift my gasket at that point and wipe the puddle of water away. I also do not ever shut the door completely between washings. That leaves air to enter. If it's a top loader, I don't know, but I'll bet if you google it you'll find lots of people complaining about the same thing and some solutions.

Kathryn I'm glad you didn't find any dead animals nearby. Maybe it was just cats? Cats do that, the males try to kill the kitties so the mother will breed again.

OKay, cheering you on while you do all that paperwork. BTDT. Many times.

I had my audit (if you can call it that) this afternoon. She's so used to the way I do things she just looks at my forms, etc., and works with my numbers. I'm glad to have that done. Now there's another pile of papers to file or shred.

Yep, DH has always been a helpful guy. People often come to him for help. One of these recent things wouldn't have been a problem. It's just that a whole bunch of stuff hit us at the same time. He's going to try to get some volunteer names this Sunday. Nancy, I don't blame you for not going out by yourself, sounds kinda risky. We have one lady who comes to volunteer and she's in a wheelchair which often gets in the way. She just wants to help. This next job coming up is bigger than the last one we did by ourselves. Oh, boy.

x spiffed downstairs bathroom; even gave the shower a once over. I still need to clean the mirror and empty the garbage and maybe mop the floor.
x picked up dd14 from school
x dd14 to and from lesson
x I walked 40 minutes and sent a moms group email during her lesson

Next:
- get dinner going
- switch laundry
- bathroom mirror and garbage

I would like to try the concoction Sunny posted on fb to clean grout between tiles. We've got a lot of that in this house. . .

Dental care sometimes isn't well insured. We have decent dental insurance, though we still have to pay a percentage for work done, but check ups are free. It did kick in a good portion of each of our kid's orthodontics, which we appreciated. People here who want inexpensive dental care go to the dental school clinic, but not everyone lives close to a dental school.

Hi everyone! Late check in today. I have had a crazy week! XDH's house interior was being painted and DD11 stayed here for two nights. Tuesday, I got a call about a kitten. DD and I went to pick it up and she named it Gravity, not sure why. Even though his mother was feral, he is not. In fact, he does not like being left alone and is sitting on my lap now. All but one of the adult cats have come by to hiss at him. The animal org is working on trapping his mother and siblings. Wed, dFosterCat10 went in for her dental. I left work early to pick her up way across town, drove home, picked up dFosterKitten, drove to a different and also distant part of town to get his blood tests done, took him home, then had to go out to buy cat litter! Today, XDH surprised me by telling me about DD's dance performance at 1:45, which I had to leave early to get dFosterKitten and dFosterCat4 to the vet. The latter has an eye infection. I missed DD's performance, but saw her come in with her partner. If XDH had given me more warning, I would have taken a different appointment and seen it. He says he never got the notice until seeing it in DD's bag this morning.

XDH is going to send me his W2 from this year soon, which means I will have to start paying child support again. I may not even be paid this month because we don't have a contract. Interesting he sends it immediately after spending money on a home remodel. Guess I can't complain too loud though, it is my obligation, even if the timing stinks.

Tonight I need to eat early so I can go to a programmers group meeting.

Tomorrow, I will be going to the knit/crochet group at the yarn shop and calling DD's twin friends mom. I have DD all weekend starting Sat morning. Sat we are going to a church picnic and Sun we and the twin friends are walking in the Run for the Zoo.

Gravity has been on my lap since I sat down to type this. He is going to be most upset when I get up, but I am hungry. (He seems to be always hungry).

Still so many things that really need to be done around here, but I am trying to concentrate on my accomplishments instead.

-- pick up supper for us & dmil
-- deliver to dmil
* wash & hang to dry or put away 3 loads of clothes
* reconcile checkbook/statement
* pay 4 bills for dmom & file paperwork
* Walk Away the Pounds 15 minutes
* get all my cards re-filed correctly

In the interest of full disclosure, my cards had not been touched since before we went to Texas. That is a matter of little consequence, however, b/c I rarely do more than touch my cards. Actually performing the task written on the card seems to be beyond me, for the most part. However, the act of shuffling the cards did remind me to do monthly BSE and change razor blade.

Today, I was VERY productive at school, although I almost fell asleep at the computer before s2s (I have REALLY got to break that habit, get back to the practice of s2s BEFORE computer...)
* had student make copies of notes we send to elementary school for newspaper sales
-- (students will cut & bundle them tomorrow)
* made out make-up work for 2 sick students and 1 in "in-school" suspension
* replied to e-mail from student's parent
* got all my grades up-to-date in computer
* got lesson plans up-to-date and posted on school website
* completed Act I of R&J, x4, LOL
* managed to listen to 40 min. of George Jones' funeral on internet during my planning period
* delivered paper to printer
* delivered retirement notice letter to central office
* went to doctor's office for dmom
* got dmom's mail
* ate supper
* visited dmil w/dh
* wrote check to pay phone bill

Now. I may take a nap.
