How are you thriving? What routines or habits are helping you? Where would you like to improve? How are your children and other loved ones thriving?
To be honest, my new morning start, which I've found helpful in thriving in my day-to-day life, has been thrown out the window this week with appointments every morning (except Monday) and the new puppy. I'd like to figure out how to get back to that. I've learned over time that another important aspect of my own personal thriving is to be able to extend grace to myself when I don't "perform" up to my own expectations. So, I will not beat myself up over losing my new morning start but just see what I can do to get back to it.
I'm here early b/c it was my turn to be on puppy duty last night. I slept in my own bed but kept an ear out for her. She now has a pattern, getting up around 1:00 a.m., going potty, then being unhappy in her crate with some yapping for about 20 minutes, then up again around 6:00 a.m. This morning, it was 6:15. I just stayed up with her since I don't tend to be able to go back to sleep once up in the morning.

Re: Thriving Thursday
This is the 3rd day this week where I"ll be out all morning and then have 3 hours in the afternoon to do "my stuff," including eat lunch, any errands, laundry, etc. before I need to leave again for a late afternoon appt. or activity with dd14. I don't know when I'm going to get ready for dd17's party tomorrow. . . .Between this schedule this week and puppy care, I feel my schedule has been co-opted.
My day today:
8:30 - 12:30-ish moms group - set up, meeting, clean up
(1:00 - meeting with tree guys?)
3:30 pick up dd14 from school
4 - 5 dd14's sewing and design lesson
Thursday dinner crew - only dfriend R will be coming, so that makes it simple. S will join us later. Dh will be out with a work-related dinner.
I have a 1:00 appt. with a tree guy but dh wants to be there, can't be, and so was supposed to call the tree company this week to reschedule. He hasn't done that as of this morning. I'm hoping he can get ahold of them before the 1:00 appt. Otherwise, my afternoon will have shrunk to about 1.5 hours by the time I include travel time home from moms group and to pick up dd14. . . I will be able to have lunch and maybe finish my a.m. routine, which I can't do now b/c I'm stuck in the kitchen on puppy duty.
Sorry to hear about the bad weather, Lilac and OK and others who will be experiencing that. Stay safe and warm!
Maybe I shouldn't say this. . . . but we're forecast to have another beautiful day here! That winter storm won't affect us at all, apparently.
I wonder if we are too far north? Our high is forecast to be 75. We will be down in the upper 60s this weekend, but that is about average for us this time of year.

I've learned over time that another important aspect of my own personal thriving is to be able to extend grace to myself when I don't "perform" up to my own expectations.
I like that.
Morning routine - although my Morning Daily Card of approx. 1 hr's worth of household chores has always been a great memorized boon to me, I've never really written down the (earlier) personal routine for mornings. I do have one, though, in that I do the same things every morning ranging from taking my thyroid pill to turning the wet dishwasher items upside-down to drain.
Ya'll might be amused to learn one of the very first things I do is to knock "shave and a hair-cut" on the wall between our room and dd14's. I knock the first part and she the second "two bits", or I'll know her alarm must not have gone off and she needs me to go wake her.
I think this infernal rain is finally stopped. I need to get these plants planted, outdoors into the right permanent sunshine spot, and the wherewithal out of my house.
Our azalea is gorgeous right now. I think the rain has stopped just in time to let the remaining blooms open dry so that it will be pretty. I was about to think it would have a drenched look all through its bloom cycle.
I have only a partial 5x5 and need to rethink that and plan my day.

Good Morning!
MT - glad to see you CI after the stress test. I often wonder why restaurants/eating places put so much sodium and msg in their food.
I slept later than normal. The bed was so warm and cozy. I'm wearing 3 layers today with the top one being fleece. My body is already used to warmer weather and thinks 31 degrees wind chill is extremely cold.

Re: Thriving Thursday
It is lightly snowing now and we have 2-3 inches on the ground. Seriously! We have lived here 31 years and have never had snow in May. We have only had snow in September once. It was on the 29th and I called db and dsisil to wish them Happy Anniversary. Db answered the phone and thought I was kidding when I said it was snowing.

Also a wave from here - I need to be off soon to meet with rabbi this morning. Then it will be back home for awhile (will have to walk ddogs then) and around 11:30 off to ATL to see dsis and them p/u ds at school. Need to pick up some undershirts/underwear for dsis and clean out the back of my car also.
Off to meet the day and do some thriving!

Re: Thriving Thursday
I'm s2s, meds, bed & breakfast done. Have been texting dh so I can make his pulmonary appointment for after I get up there. He just texted, "no mornings, I'm mowing lawns". I absolutely hate to hear that!! It's an awful job for him and hard work since he has to tip HEAVY picnic tables on almost all the sites -3 times actually. Hope he's up to it. He hasn't mowed in a few years.
Also going to try to get an appointment to get my hair trimmed just before I go home -if I can. My hairdresser only works 3 days a week now so it's iffy. But I'll try.
Think dsonil is still in bed. He's sleeping later since we moved his recliner into their bedroom. Did that a few weeks ago so he wouldn't be in the mix with gd getting ready for school.
Plan to go see the church secretary in rehab later today. She was having severe back problems and fell a couple of weeks ago and broke her ankle in 2 places. I was staying longer, originally, for her to go to MI to visit family (through May 17). Now I guess she plans to fly there next week (with a daughter) and won't be back before the end of June. Obviously I have to go home. So, hope we can work out something today. Our pastor who starts May 19th, has said he will try to do them and dd I know will help as much as she can. (our "new" pastor was voted on Sunday and is actually our "old" interim pastor -whom we all just love!)
Ok, better get busy here. Off I go. 1, 2, 3>>>>>>>>>>>

Re: Thriving Thursday
Got emails sent to the church office, updating the announcements. That will have to do until I get back.
They are trying to get a board meeting called but it won't be until after I leave. Since I now have 6 hours of driving on Sunday, I told them I won't be staying after church and just heading straight out.
Next up, breakfast.
There was a horrible sounding massacre in the woods behind our house at 12:30 - 1:15. Woke both of us up. We couldn't see a thing but imagined that some animal was defending its babies (we could hear mewling) and between the (non-dog) growling/chattering/snarling we could here heavy grunting and breathing. Which is odd because the woods are a good 200' away from the house yet it was as clear as a bell. There were several times when we'd here the 'fight' with the babies in the background and then dead quiet, then the babies and more fighting and finally just the babies. Kind of afraid to go look but at the same time I'm curious if it was actually as we imagined it. Both of us thought a badger might be involved although we've never seen a badger here. We do see fishers and they are pretty vicious too.

Re: Thriving Thursday
It is very windy here this morning but cooler than the 100's earlier in the week. My palo verde trees are finally leafing out and have little yellow blossoms here and there. There are a lot more in the park that are just covered with flowers.
Slept like a log last night as I didn't have to stress over the stress test. I did have a couple nice looking guys administer the tests. Told them that they were the reason I couldn't get my breath back. Yeah! Right! they both could have been my sons if not grandsons. But we had fun anyway.
Today's list:
Breakfast & Meds
S2BF
Clean bathroom for contractor
Wash bathroom towels
Update specs for bathroom remodel.
Hi Ho, Hi Ho it is off to work I go!!!
