Harriet -- Have you seen the previews of the new movie coming out @ Christmas, I think -- Saving Mr. Banks?
Tom Hanks plays Walt Disney, Emma Thompson is P.T. (L?) Travers, the author of Mary Poppins. It is all about her selling the book rights to Disney, and apparently, she was not altogether pleased with the final product. But I cannot wait to see it!!!

Should have said I'm a fan of dh's earlier, I guess, and in many, many ways, I am... but I do not aspire to be LIKE dh. He is a bit too OCD for me.

Speaking of which... must go... time to check on dmil...

I'm back from tutoring and then supervising Tori's drop off which was traumatic - mainly for Tori but also for Tori's "mom." Not sure why Tori freaked out coming to our house; I would guess the culprit to be the Maia monster whom she really dislikes. Then, a phone call from dh who said his trip was mostly a waste of time - to go with a secondary theme today. If they guy who invited him had done his hw and talked to his manager more in depth, he would have realized that his manager has no real interest in working with dh, doesn't really work in dh's area - and in fact could have saved dh the time and bother of prepping a talk for a handful of people who don't work in his area and therefore don't understand what he is doing and aren't really interested. . . Another company dh visited IS interested in working with dh, so the trip was not a complete waste of time. I've also checked emails.

We're waiting for dd17 to get home so we can go out to eat. I think it will be Vietnamese tonight.

Me too!! Mary Poppins is one of my all time favorite movies!! You just can't beat Dick Van Dyke for singing and dancing - and Julie Andrews for singing too!! I'm also a big fan of Lord of The Rings, the books more than the movies - b/c I'm also somewhat of a purist, though the movies were very well done. I'm a Jan Austen fan, though she is a bit cliche' now. I'm an Isaac Asimov fan. I'm also a fan of foreign languages, not that I can speak many. I just think they're very interesting!!

Lucylee: I saw that trailer and want to see that movie too! Is there any way we can all go together?! (Dang, this is another time I wish we all lived in the same real village instead of a virtual one!)

Speaking of the village, had a chat with GoDaddy today. He called me in regards to something dh had started but I took it as a chance to find out if I could do anything about our village situation. He offered some glimmers of hope and I'll follow up on those. He also emailed me so if I need more help, I can email him directly and not deal with some anonymous person. Because he was the one to phone here (about an account dh set up last year when we were thinking about our options re: the village), he was much more helpful than I expected since he initiated the call.

Please note, he only offered a glimmer of hope.

Dinner is done, dishwasher is humming away. Dh is getting the breakfast things ready for tomorrow.

I saw that movie trailer it went on my movies to see list.
Got an air popper for the pop corn I got a while back, so I have used it the hens were very happy! No salt or butter on the batch for the hens. Dgson wants some too. He forgot his reading.

Dson & dgrson-14 3/4 are coming early in the a.m. to take our old fridge. I found the instructions booklet and also the booklet for repair parts model numbers! So this will be super if they can fix it or get it repaired. It's silver with side-by-side fridge doors and has a freezer on the bottom. There's an ice-maker, a ice water things, too, on the inside of the fridge. I know this isn't really great "filing", but I "knew" where the books were! WHERE DH put them. In a 2-drawer filing cabinet underneath the portable phone at the eating bar! I remembered him stuffing a lot of appliance books in there, which is sure enough! I found a lot! Now I can file in my "spare" time!

I keep appliance and other manuals in one of two places (a filing box in the basement or for small kitchen appliances that also have recipes or instructions I need, in a binder on the cookbook shelf.) For both of them, I go through them every 5 years or so and throw out the manuals that are for things we no longer own.

I wrote the minutes to last night's meeting. Took longer than I intended but they are complete. Just waiting on one response before sending them out.

After finishing the minutes, I started the laundry. A multitasking opportunity missed!

My thoughts are running all over right now; they are here one minute and gone just as fast.

I am truly a fan of this Village and all who come here. I am a fan of my dh and my dfamily. And also a fan of many of the things that have been mentioned here today!

Sending (belated) Birthday Wishes to Harriet's Dh - HRH, whose Special Day was yesterday. I wish I had been more together to think of checking that page before this!

Elizabeth, the pages here don't seem to be changed any for me!

Well, my plans for today were changed. I was not able to start right in on my weekly cleaning like I wanted. I did get morning routine done, then ds#1 called and asked if he and ddil could stop in to say hello. Yes, of course, come on in. So we visited with them for a couple of hours, but they did not want to stay for lunch. We were also waiting for the nurse from home health care to get the paperwork done for nurse and Phys. Therapy person. They both will be here on Monday. I decided to do some deep cleaning in the kitchen and got the stove, range hood and counter tops detailed. Also cleaned the small appliances and the 3-tiered mug holder cleaned thoroughly. Got the living room and dining room carpet swept --- I forgot I was going to time that job to see how long it takes!

The nurse didn't come until after 5 pm and left at 6:30 pm. Ds#2 had come about 4:30 to mow the grass, As he was edging the sidewalk it started to rain, so he came in and talked for a few minutes. He left when the nurse came. Dh said he was so tired of being stuck inside all week he wanted to eat out, so we went to Cracker Barrel. He's sleeping in his chair now; I need to chase him to bed!
