One of the things I miss about Indiana was her upbeat start to the day. I will always be a fan of Indiana and am thankful how she positively affected my life.

I'm a fan of OKay!

Another busy day here. I have decided not to go talk to the rabbi this morning about our kosher policy. It's the day before Yom Kippur, I don't want to upset him and I hate for congregants to feel that the rules are changing yet again. He continues to dictate the traditional kosher policy w regard to meat and milk - a policy that we have never observed as a congregation. I just clarified this with him last spring, and now he's done it again.

Today I have:
-straightening up for cleaning lady
-run to grocery for quick trip - must make kugel tomorrow
-a workman here possibly between 10 and 1 for a repair
-leave here at 1 p.m. to go to K-town to get dd
-some where in between eat dinner as the fast starts tonight
-be at temple tonight (dressed appropriately) at 7 p.m. for photo op and services at 7:30
-spend some time thinking or reading about an appropriate "address to the congregation" tomorrow. Unlike RH holiday, I don't have a topic in mind already. Write it down tonight or tomorrow a.m. early.

Big fan of the villagers here! Each deserves a fan club!

Certainly a John Denver fan, noticing our opening virtually quotes him!
I am a fan of many old tv/movies and a fan of a few new ones.
A fan of some health/exercise leaders/authors who I feel have stood the test of time and genuinely care.
Fan's not the right word, but impressed with some faith, religion and self-realization leaders/authors.
A fan of aprons, of cardfiles, timers, lace-up shoes with rubber soles.

HRH drove dd and me both to school and then he and I went grocery shopping - very unusual, but it worked well for a wise start to the day that got both of us involved in our menu planning.

Twins' Mom, it's always tough when any group feels suddenly tugged (shoved?) to a surprise of additionally conservative thinking. It can be such a guilt-button for anyone individually, or can just feel generally negative. But it is a misunderstanding-magnet to a group for sure. Your congregation has existing traditions on this subject, and so the confusion could be even worse. I wish I knew how to advise you - that's a good point that you don't want to upset the rabbi at this exact moment.

Aw, that is a wonderful sentiment, Harriet with which I fully agree!! Many of you do (and deal with) so many things that I find impressive in a style that is inspiring.

I am a fan of certain authors, books, series. I am a fan of home cooked meals. I an a fan of getting enough sleep. I am a fan of traveling! I need to think of some others, but I'm blanking right now.

I am going to skip WW today, not b/c I think my weight is up but b/c I feel I need a morning at home. I have just fallen more and more behind in almost everything this week. I was out and about to all morning meetings 3 days this week and a fourth day I had a noon meeting + errands. Then, there were two evenings out as well - one meeting, one football game. Today, I'm tutoring at 3. I need to prep for that too.

Band director just emailed me with uniform parts left behind in the band room last night after the game. I don't have the database, so I forwarded to other mom who does. However, I do have the bits and pieces of numbers band director keeps sending me regarding students being issued uniforms and paying their cleaning fees. I need to track those down, collate, and send to other band uniform mom.

I think I'll do that first. I'll feel better to have that off my plate.

Posting from phone. At least I managed to get here but had to get a new password. Will ask DGS20 if I can hire him to troubleshoot my computer.

Dh is getting better little bit by bit.

Haven't cuop from yesterday. Yet!

It rained all the way there and home to meet dniece and pickup dsisil.

Last night about 8:30 db called. I instantly knew something was wrong. He frequently calls of an evening, but last night I knew it was different. He had taken his dw to the ER the night before. They thought she had a kidney stone. The pain subsided so they sent her home thinking she had passed it. Yesterday the pain started again and she called dm to take her to the same ER. This time they did a CAT scan and it showed that her colon was twisted. They were going to do surgery immediately. Db wanted me to call my dh's dsis who is a df to her. My dm called again once the surgery started. They said it would be 1-2 hours. Dm called at 10:30 when it was over. The dr. said she did great. He removed the twisted area. He said she would be in the hospital from 4-7 days. Dd1 told me that she probably got this due to adhesions and that is what the dr. later said. She has had hernia surgery plus 4 years ago she had some kind of stomach surgery that was botched and she about died from, so yes, she has adhesions. She has had frequent short periods of pain after eating a meal, for the last 4 years. No answers to why. The dr. said this may be the cause and time will tell.

Need to get busy............

I have fed the hens and gotten the coop opened up now. None of the plums that were on the ground for them. They were happy when we put the hose on for them to wade in bc of the high temps. Guess I am a fan of chickens the high school mascot is a bantam chicken here.

Time to flip laundry and get going with other chores. No Granny duty until after school.

Lilac I'm glad to hear the surgery was a success but scary for all involved, especially since they didn't catch the problem the first trip to the ER.

I'm up. I've stripped and remade the bed and eaten breakfast. That's about it.

Will go s2s now and then get moving. I have my clothes all laid out, so I don't even have to think about what to wear. I was going to avoid going shopping today (yesterday was amazing because the stores were empty for some reason and I doubt I'll be as lucky today) but I need to go to the bank.

Home from grocery, cleaning lady doing her thing. I'm at computer, surfing a bit on Yom Kippur topics and meditations and torah commentary and still blanking on a subject.

Today is time-slot Tetris.

What am I a fan of? The Piano Guys. I love their mashups and exercise to several of them. Through them, I've found other music I like.
