30 minutes vacuuming -- got all the "living" area of the house done -- the parts I don't like to do when dh is home, b/c I always feel like I'm in his way. What's wrong with this picture??? It should be that these are the parts that I DO when dh is home, b/c he would jump up, grab the vacuum, and say, "No way should you be doing all this vacuuming, lucy, let me help you!!!" But no... that's not how it works. * sigh *

I also did take a little bit of a nap and maybe I feel better.

just arrived home from visit with DSon and family. WOW! What a time. The changes our little family have gone through in the past week is nothing other than miraculous. Goood goood stuff. I'll share details later. Got to get LO bathed and into bed. An hour late! eeek!

Now I am downloading (uploading?) 266 pictures to Wmart. * sheesh * Can we say procrastinater? Good grief. I have not ordered prints since before ds's birthday.

FINALLY!!! A job application has been completed and sent! Yeesh that took forever. I am going to snack on some popcorn, then do cat care and me care. If there is time, I will watch a Dr. Who episode. I am going to my art class tomorrow morning. It starts at a reasonable time (10:00) and will get my booty out of bed. Then, yep, more job apps. Goal = one a day and don't break the chain. DD11 still wants a dragon painting for her birthday. Another reason it is imperative that I get to that art class. It is nice that she wants something I can produce (she specified that she wanted ME to do it, I had always thought she wanted one purchased for her). I need to get it done in time to frame it.

Many more things I could/should do, but I have made decent progress today, despite DD having a guest. Besides, I am hungry.

As usual I am here late before going to bed. Today was pretty busy for a while, then I had to rest from stress I guess. Went with DH to his dr. apt. and that went ok. I really liked this guy (new dr.) he was very nice. Then I drove DH to the radiology place where he got a chest xray. Tomorrow he goes to another place for lab work. We are moving along.

Came back home to get paperwork copied and keys and we both went up to jobsite and did a little work, then 2 more stops on the way home. About 4 hours later we were getting our lunches. Both of us had to have naps after.

I would have stopped at post office along the way, but they were closed.

I've seen those cabbage patch wigs before, they really are cute. However, I've not found a pattern to make one yet.

Elizabeth, My Dsis is in UT, after moving from OR and she's looking for a job. The time-consuming applications is the hardest part for her and the cost of living's so low there, which means the salaries are, too. How many hours do you spend daily looking? Do they still have those job-finding businesses they used to have in the 1970's - 1980's to help you find a job? Also, there used to be temp agencies, too. Sometimes, when you work as a temp, you love the employer so much and they love you, too- they KEEP you!

Lucylee, Your photos uploading sounds time-consuming. Is it?

I finished the last dishcloth #3 for my dfriend. Now I'm working on a letter for a BFF's mailer to send her a book on "The Step Diet," for pedometer users. We'll try to ship it off tomorrow. In the meantime, I have scrubbies and Seahawks hats to crochet and letters to write, too. Am trying to stay out of the kitchen because it's my first W. W. day and I don't want to "blow it" now. I'd rather keep busy than eat and mess up my good day.

YES, it is time-consuming, Ivy... Mainly b/c my computer is soooo slow!!!
BUT... I am very frustrated w/Wmart, too, b/c they make a big deal about "Save Shipping w/Site to Store!!!"
Well yes. The 256 pictures would cost almost $10 shipping to my house, plus the $25.00 and some cents printing cost.
HOWEVER -- if I do site to store, for some reason, the printing cost goes up to $40!!!
Now explain that... all the time you are selecting your photos, etc... it says "order these prints for only $25.xx --
and then you DO... and * BAM * it's $40.

They also will not deliver to p.o. box (but snapfish & shutterfly will) and they kept suggesting other addresses instead of my actual street address. Apparently my rural route is too rural? So I just gave up and thought, for $5, I will pick up at the store.

(((Sadie))) Please do not take my rant personally! I know you can do nothing about these crazy internet policies. Just venting a little here...

But feeling sooo great that this is DONE!!! Hooray for ME!!!

And -- editing to say -- OH C*R*A*P! Just noticed there is $3.68 tzx for store pickup. * sheesh * So my total is now $44.58.
Of course, for pictures from October-January, w/5 major events -- DS birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the California trip... I guess that's not too bad. * sigh *

I can't remember if I mentioned that dd2 put a for sale by owner sign in the yard of their new house on Friday. Her new phone has decided to only ring when it wants to, but she had a bunch of missed calls.
They didn't leave messages. Finally yesterday, she called one of them back. It happened to be the couple who was also looking at the house when they bought it. They want to work thru their realtor who will expect 3 %. Their realtor is the one who sold dd2 the house I now live in and sold their previous house. She is a real rip, therefore they have never dealt with her again and prefer not to this time. Today dd2 showed the house to a young couple. I was also there. They really liked it but were already scheduled to look at 5 houses this evening. They close tomorrow on the house they are selling. It is in a town an hour or so from here. We both knew that knowing what is out there for sale, this young couple would want hers. She had let that realtor show that couple the house late this afternoon. Later she texted dd2 that they wanted to make an offer and told her what it was and what she expected for commission. Don't these people realize that the only way dd2 won't lose a bunch of money is to sell it themselves? So dd2 called the young couple and they too want to make an offer. Dd2 told them that she would really like to see them buy it, so to sleep on it and call her with an offer tomorrow. She also told them that there was another offer on the table but they have first shot at it. On top of that the realtor that sold dd2 the house called. She has people calling her to work with them and show it. She told dd2 that she will be watching for another house for them. She knows what they want and that it does need to be bigger. I told dd2 that the house would sell right away.

Today dd2 and I were at the shop for her final time for pickup of their ceramic pieces. There is quite a bit left. Yikes.

Then we went to her house and started cleaning. She had put on the local trader website that she had 2 beds that are raised like a bunk bed, but open underneath with shelves at the ends. She put free but you have to disassemble them. Her dh is in the middle of calfing and he does not have the time to take the beds apart. The movers are moving the new furniture from the new house to their present house on Wednesday. She did not expect to get so many sad stories in their requests for the beds. Luckily one of them was someone she knew. This lady had been one of her jr. high teachers and later was a colleague at the HS. Her dd is in the process of adopting 2 children that have been abused, etc. These beds are only 2 years old but they are a gray metal frame. The new ones are wooden and have a lighted bookcase headboard with drawers underneath and a matching dresser with pillowtop mattresses.

Since we cleaned today, then she can have the furniture delivered and then head to the shop and mess with that on Wednesday. I don't know how she thought she could move and close a business.

I can't tell you how many times dh asked if I wanted to buy that house. It is nice but I don't want to move. So we are in the process of planning the main bath renovation that will start in March after our trip. This is the weirdest bathroom ever. I just measured it. There is a 15 1/2 ft X 4 1/2 ft corridor that has an 8 foot vanity with 2 sinks and a 4 ft wide section with 3 doors wide and 4 doors down for a total of 12 doors of storage. Then about half way down this long bathroom you step up about 4 inches into a 6 1/2 by 7 ft room that has the tub and toilet. There is also a set of 3 built in shelves there, also. So dh is going to gut the bathroom. He will leave the bank of 12 doors but everything else is going. He is going to take the floor back down the 4 inches, so both sections are level. We are going to relocate the toilet. We will have a separate shower and a soaker tub. Then we will go with a 5 ft. vanity with just one sink (I think). I don't want the whole counter top to be sinks. Dh has been on the internet looking at tubs, vanities, etc. He keeps wanting to know what color this and that. It will be nice when it's done but in the meantime a lot of planning and choosing colors, etc.

Dd2 is still acting like the owner of this house and that nothing needs done. I have news for her, she owned this house 2 years, 3 months and a few days. Come early March we will have owned it that long and we don't need her approval or permission to do anything to it. She will croak when we replace the kitchen and breakfast area with probably hardwood floors. They put in tile that was called duraceramic. There is no ceramic to it, it's vinyl. It is 16 inch squares that are grouted. It is going to be a pain to remove it but they were so hard on it and eventually it will be gone.

So that's what is going on around here. House stuff ours and hers.
