Re: Take Care of it - Tuesday
I went ahead and did my online monitoring of dmom's accounts, such as they are. Money is being spent faster than it is coming in - she is supporting both herself and dbro. While their expenses are quite low, he is going to the grocery or dollar general store daily - since Nov 1, 5 trips to D ollar G eneral, 3 trips to Bi lo, 2 trips to the local small grocery, plus the three meals from the JCC that cost $20/week. I know he's probably bored....also looks like he needs to refill her bp meds...oy. Hoping he gets his disability and soon.
I did rest just a bit but need to hit it again. Dh texted earlier that he might be able to make an earlier flight and would let me know.
-go out - put stuff from garage into neighborhood construction dumpster
-goodwill drop off for the rest of it (better that dh doesn't have a chance to go through things)
-sweep and clean up front porch, get rid of dead mums also
-reboot laundry
-clean out my car
Nancy, I don't think the mail is running today.

Lucylee: while you were part of the discussion that triggered the reminder, none of you went over the line. It was just the combination of posts that felt on the line to me and the moderators decided a reminder was due. Plus we have a few new people who weren't around when we loosely decided to keep things toned down in PWYC and put more overt requests for prayers in Joys & Concerns. Besides, 1) your joke was funny and 2) it came from a very good theological observation. I'll probably use it in a sermon some day.
BTW: when my kids were little, I had a policy that anyone who swore got their hand slapped, including me (the kids were to slap me.) Thinking back I'm not sure I haven't crossed my own 'line' for PWYC but if I do so in the future, please feel free to point it out to me. Sometimes I get too excited about a new way of seeing a passage and in sharing it with you folks, I might cross the line.
I had a semi-productive morning and got the floors swept and tile floors damp mopped. Also did two loads of laundry (second is in the dryer now.)
Ds dropped by and then we headed downtown by bus. Dd and dsil were at the ceremony and met us about 10 minutes after we got there. They left the ceremony before all the parade of veterans was over so we beat the rush and got seats at the restaurant. Everyone enjoyed the food and we had a great chat. That's the first we've all been together since my birthday.
Ds got called in for a shift tonight so he won't be by tomorrow morning (he might come in the afternoon to do laundry.)
Dh and I walked up to the War Memorial. People were taking their poppies off and leaving them on the tomb of the unknown soldier (where the soldier was shot 3 weeks ago) and it was a very moving sight.
Our haircuts went smoothly. I bought a new hair dryer to use at the gym since the ones there are hard on my hair. This one is dual voltage if I ever want it for overseas, although I won't need it. I also bought a diffuser sock which goes over the barrel and works to diffuse the air to reduce the frizzes. That can be used with any hair dryer so I can travel with that and put it on dryers in hotels or on the ship.
We are home now. I'll just have a salad with some leftover chicken for a light supper and then head over to the Presbytery meeting.

Re: Take Care of it - Tuesday
hope your little toddler feels better soon (no more sniffles)
hello to all.
I have had a fun find - I went into an old wedding dress box and found many of the handmade keepsakes that I forgot about. Inside was my dchildren's outfit they both wore on the ride home from the hospital after they were born, knitted sweaters for the girls from my french grandmother (their great grandmother), a smocked dress I made years ago.. baby blue cotton, booties she made, a dress my d mil knitted, so much fun and so many lovely memories. my youngest daughters first clogs.
Got rid of misc. halloween stuff glasses etc....
I also found the first Christmas record dh and I bought after we were married 33 years ago... I don't have any other records but it was fun to find this.

Re: Take Care of it - Tuesday
The temps are cold here, sunny, gusty winds, trees are down, and there are several power outages.
DH went to Costco today, got me a black turtleneck sweater, and he got a gift card, for a family's Thanksgiving dinner, which we'll mail off tomorrow.
We're listening to music, I'm working my snail mail, and love ♥ days when there's no mail, so I can play catch-up!
We love our fleece knit sheets, DH slept straight through the night, so the fire went out, and we woke to a cold house.
Have a great Tuesday afternoon, Everybody!

What fun little finds, bw2!
Just heard from dh that he will be in in about an hour....
Going to handle some paper until then, try to do some desk clearing.

Took a nap. Had a salad for dinner with leftover chicken. Need to head off now if I'm going to make the meeting on time.
See you all!
