Back from the grocery run.

Will have to stop in at another store later today. I'll be leaving shortly for my meeting tonight since I'll run errands on the way.

Hi everyone! I got a partial fix on my calculated columns that have been plaguing me. I am getting correct numbers, but they are not responding to filters the way I would like. Now, they are responding according to how the documentation says they are SUPPOSED to respond, that's just not how I WANT them to respond. Have tried many, many fixes, none of which worked.

Last night and on the train this morning, I finished a 3rd (out of 8) squares for the ugly Christmas sweater. I have decided it will not be done by Friday, no how, no way, so I am not going to pull late-nighters trying to finish it by then. It looks like the office is not celebrating Ugly Christmas Sweater Day, so it is ok. I will finish it when I can, so I will have it next year. Or even later this season. This leaves me free to (1) have Girls' Night Out with DD12 without getting stressed (2) post the Wednesday menu for the church website if it is sent to me and (3) do any other chores that come my way. If I did not have to drive in tomorrow, I would be able to finish the sweater, but I have a meeting across town. My new job has lots of meetings, that is new for me. (Not a problem, just different).

Last night, I did some Christmas purchase planning. Today, I did some ordering. DD had wanted two items for her 18" dolls: the 'get well' set with crutches and casts and the wheelchair set, for a total of about $60 when shipping is included. I found one set, including crutches, casts, and wheelchair for slightly less than half in a catalog left in the lunchroom by another employee. I also found inexpensive, but fun gifts for two local friends. So, for about the same price as DD's original wish list items, I got her items + two more.

I also spent some time arranging appointments for the MLK holiday. Because I now work in a different city and have little leave accrued, it is not easy for me to get some things done. I have an appointment with the gastroenterologist and a lawyer for will and trust writing. I have an appointment request in at the dentist. I was going to try to fit an eye exam in, but was (a) running out of time in the day and (b) discovered my eye clinic is open until 7 pm on weekdays! I will have to get a new eye doctor, mine is now deceased.

Good evening all! I have been out a lot today, was out the door at 8:30 this morning and back again around 2 pm. First, I went to the moms group teaching team meeting 9 - 11-ish, but I ducked out early at 10:30 to go to the high school to help high school students with uniforms that don't fit well after all. At 11:30, we were done with that. Only 1 student came by while I was there. Apparently, before I got there, a mother came in and thought she could swap out her son's jacket without him present. Nope. The other mom uniform parent was present and said we can't do that, and apparently there were some words. Some pretty sharp words. The band director stood behind the uniform parents. After uniforms, it was off to bday lunch with my dfriend B at a favorite vegetarian restaurant. Just a tete a tete. :)

I did get to the gym this afternoon. And I'm currently roasting a whole chicken and a small pan of new potatoes.

I'm going to prep the cauliflower for cooking, probably not roasting at this point. The kitchen is a mess now and needs some attention, though I have cleaned up the raw chicken mess.

I'm feeling so tired. . . .

Cauliflower is steaming. All people are home.

At the gym, I was on an elliptical watching TV and I saw a trailer for a movie that got me really excited! I think Ds will LOVE it! It is called The Imitation Game and is about the Enigma Machine. Ds was obsessed with this at some point in middle school or early high school. He did a school project on it. I just emailed him a link to the film. My girls might like it because Cumberbatch stars in it. . . LOL!

I'm off to get the table set and check on the potatoes and chicken again.

Today, I woke up about 8:50 a.m. and I:
- s2s, etc...
- did my morning routine,
- read my daily meditation,
- Did QVAR, etc....
- Washed my rescue inhaler plastic "thing", and peak flow meter, (air drying now),
- Did some journal exercises,
- Put away MBathR counter items,
- Had QT,
- Decluttered,
- Crocheted a few minutes, until my left thumb gave out,
- Made a bright book cover for Virginia Woolf's novel, "Mrs. Dalloway,"
- Watched the birds for awhile in the storm,
- Watched a baseball sports show for awhile,
- Sorted/purged mail, or junk mail, and put cards in the wall card holder, taped a photo up of Dfriends,
- Did emails, got an aura, and ocular migraine, so went to my chair, to be still, rest,
- Read my Dfriend's annual quote booklet she mails every year inside their card, liked 1 quote, so changed my signature here, to that quote. It was the best one, to me, IMHO, which "fits" here, quite nicely, I believe.

DH is watching a comedy, which isn't funny (to me!) at all, but let the old guy get his kicks somehow, so I'm in my small office entertaining myself!

I received a very nice thank you Christmas card, from a pen pal's adult DD, who has down's syndrome, for gifts I'd crocheted her for her hair. She said, "Thank you for all the pretties." It's so precious. I've got it here, on my desk, to remind me of her. She's so sweet. ♥ And a real love. ;)

Have a nice evening, Everyone! :D

Shock, shock but this is the first time I have been on the computer all day. Today has been devoted to my 2 little granddaughters. It was dance day and I was going to their house, since I have their Christmas gifts from their mom and I, everywhere it seems. Dgd5 was acting tired so I told her daddy that she could stay with me and go to dance with us. After that I took them to daycare. I had 3 1/2 hours before I had to pick them up from daycare. They had pictures and dress rehearsal tonight. We were there 3 hours. Tomorrow they have rehearsal again and they will go thru each group's routine, at least twice. The good thing is they are only doing half of the show in each section. I am glad that their mom and big sister were able to do their hair and makeup, because I do not excel there at all.

Tomorrow I plan on cleaning and cleaning, plus finish decorating. I also need to pick out my frames for new eyeglasses and sunglasses. Just remembered I need to color my hair, so I better get it washed...............

I put the file holder together with the files, sorted papers, got it all together and gave it to DH. It turned out real cute. As I expected, he did not gush or jump for joy, but neither did he complain. He seemed to like it. A little later he commented on it being a nice way to get his papers. That's really all I can expect from him. Unlike us, he does not get turned on by organization!

However, I can now see the top of my kitchen table. I am thrilled!

Got the tree decorated and most of the other decorations up. It seems like a lot this year, even though I did not use them all. Taking everything down will take more time than usual because I've used some from the garage bins and some from the inside bins and everything is mixed up now. I guess it all turned out ok. There are a lot of bins and stuff all over the place. I am trying to tidy up but don't feel like I'm making much progress. DH considers tree decorating a spectator sport. I made him sit there and untangle all the ornament hooks.

I'll have to stop though because I am so very tired and stiff and sore beyond belief. I was up and down the ladder a couple times and the step stool about 50. I need a pain reliever. I hope I can sleep.

Dh brought home papers for me to sign, so that our health insurance through the plant can be taken from our checking account. We have been so fortunate for the last almost 33 years, that we have had excellent insurance. It used to be totally paid by his employer, but over the years they have started charging us a small percent of it. Now we will be paying it all. I still can't believe that we have reached the stage of our lives, that retirement is looming.

Harmony, I am going to join you in not putting up all the decorations. As close as it is getting to Christmas, I am picking and choosing my favorites. As soon as Christmas is over, I plan to start working on getting the tree down and everything put away. Dh will just have a little over a week to work after Christmas and I want the mess put away before he is at home full time.

Dh spends a lot of time in his garage. I had ordered him a gravity lounger that also rocks. It arrived today. He has a stool with a back, but he occasionally dozes off. I'm always afraid he is going to doze off and fall, in the process getting hurt. Now he can be comfortable and safe.

Last night I went to bed at 9 and slept until after 6 this morning. I was too tired to do anything, so decided to just head to bed. Guess I better do that shortly.
