Truth be told I am beginning to panic about Christmas - but I will do my to do's instead to I don't wanna list

My d family coming in are so excited. The youngest has never been on a plane before or out of Europe so I feel that I have big shoes to fill.

It is a late start!

Flying by the seat of my pants today. No list, although I should have one.

Need to get to the grocery store.

Have spent that last 90 minutes working on preparing my next three services, 21st, 25th and 28th. I figure I need to get them done this week. I have a week off and then have another 2 in a row. On the week 'off' dh is doing the music at both churches. Not sure if the minister is working that Sunday or not. Not sure what the churches are doing for between Xmas and New Years. Normally it is lay-lead but no-one has asked me.

I had scribbled down some ideas about family for the Christmas Day sermon but have decided to use them for the 21st instead. Or set them aside for another year. I'm going to have to figure out a way of filing all my sermon ideas. Currently they are saved on scraps of paper all clipped together on my desk but not organized and they should be at least in a binder under the weeks that readings come up or at least in the appropriate seasons. That's work though and I'm allergic to work!

Despite the 90 minutes of work, I haven't completed anything. I've just got things floating around in my head.

I did finish that book last night so it can go back to the library.

I need to find a notebook and transcribe my notes from the book (again, on scraps of paper!) into the book. Then, should I want to refer to the notes, I'll be able to find them. I do find taking notes while I read a good way of more deeply thinking about the material. And it gives me conversation starters (in the case of the latest book, my minister friend had written a newspaper column about one aspect of the book which is what made me choose it, so I want to discuss it with him.)

I stink (still in pjs) and even the bed isn't made. But first, I'll finish breakfast.

Morning y'all...

Woke up in early morning with a raging headache, but not my usual kind ... Took some meds and tried to sleep. Got up early feeling a bit better and read for a while.

By 7:00am had all my morning stuff done. Took a shower and am now drinking my coffee. Yesterday was crazy. Started out early with a few errands to do but do to mad crowds and crazy drivers didn't get home till afer two.

Once home finished framing a photo for my bff's Xmas present. Aside for a picture I did for Norma and Mr. Guy along with one for their special friend this is the first time I have given my art as a present to someone other than family. I am quite pleased with the way it turned out. My BFF knows I do photography but other than what I post on fb she's not seen any off my work.

Today I need stop by the library to pick up a book on hold. I don't want to go any where else or get sidetracked with things I want to do around the house.

Twins.... A geneology question for you... Which program are you using and do you find it helpful??? I keep hitting walls and getting frustrated.

Off to finish my coffee and a bit of "me" time. Sweetie asked for a set of special wrenches for Xmas. He ordered them and they will arrive this Friday. Glad he wanted something that will make him happy. I do have a couple of flannel shirts..... Shhhh, Norma... And a few other little things to stick under the tree. I asked for a bucket of paint and Sweeties help to help me jazz up the mbr for my present

Blessed, I miss you when you're not here! I'm a little panicked about Christmas too.

Well, you'd think after such a nice evening we had last night, this morning would be smooth sailing. At this point, I'm not sure I'm going to make it with any sanity through the holidays.

DH is over at rental. A plastic part that holds the radiator cap just disintegrated. He lost all his antifreeze AGAIN. I'm off to auto parts for that part and go out and help him.

I had a paperwork chase at my desk that was not productive. Just had to stack stuff up, at least sorted. I have LOL hanging, I cleaned up a bedroom, I cleaned another bathroom, I washed dishes. To many TO DO's but can't do them, waiting on other people.

RR, I use RootsMagic software but I wouldn't say it helps with any of those brick wall issues. I've used it for a long time - probably close to 10 years? It has a lot of bells and whistles but I don't make full use of it probably. I just upgraded to Rootsmagic version 7. There is also Rootsmagic Essentials, which is free if you want to try w/o commitment!

I'm too guilty of flying by the seat of my pants and not making a list of what really needs to be done. Have been getting ready for evening meeting so far but need to get on with a.m. routine and out of here for 1:30 body work.

I'm feeling guilty. I have just pimped my husband out for a 2 - 3 year long contract. He won the project he interviewed for yesterday. He didn't even want to bid on it, figuring it wouldn't be worth his time to put in a bid since he chargess so much. I'm pleased our government finally hired the right person for the job and recognizes world pay scale for quality (this is actually a discounted rate.)

He'll only be working one day a week most of the time and gets the time around the cruise off.

Bids closed on October 29 and the successful contractor was to start November 2 so they obviously had someone in mind. Dh's bid was 'technically' worth him getting an interview and the email today said his technical expertise plus rate combined to give him an edge over the others. Interestingly, we beat out the British company serving as project lead for our NZ project (the two projects are very similar.) Feel bad about that just because originally dh told the British company we weren't bidding, then I made him bid.

I'm excited that we won't have to travel too much in the next few years. I feel like stars are aligning for grandchildren to start coming.

Now for me to think about what to give the kids for Christmas. I bought them smallish gifts to open, but now I have to think of experiences. I have ideas so that's great and I'm excited about sharing this good fortune with them.

And I'll do our charitable contributions this week as well.

hi d rose oh I am so sorry you have such a bad headache.. please feel better soon! My youngest dd uses ancestry but she finds she has to go into different city records and into city newspaper archives quit a bit.

I took one of the ddogs to vet. She is a ten year old lab who loves the vet! She is so so happy there. (I used to bring her weekly to the vet to say hi to people and let them give her a treat and then take her for a walk - I think she still associates the good with the vet)
