feeling a bit less frustrated... tonight dh and I are going through and marking down spending into my books for Nov/december - otherwise I think it would overwhelm me - I might ask for help from d girls as well
I've been putting like things together and marking the extras accordingly... it is making me feel less stressed. I am beginning to feel a bit less frazzled - I know when going through books to see spending over the year will stress me out.

Elizabeth, you are doing an excellent job of demonstrating to your dd12 that a determined woman can do a lot of things for herself, instead of depending on a man to do them for her. You have really tackled some tricky projects, such as your ceiling/roof issue. In the process you have accomplished your goal and saved money. I also think that your dd12s interest in your projects shows how much of a bond that you two have, now that your dh isn't there trying to undermine you.

There are some grocery items that dh is wanting, so I think he is wanting to go to WM with me to pick them up. That is a good sign that he is feeling better.

I styled my hair and it looks pretty good.

Some payroll tasks done: reports fixed (again), backups done.

Next payroll priority: training videos. I need to MAKE them, not watch them. I need to first figure out how to use Power View charts in Excel, else I cannot tell someone else how.

Thank you lilac! I never had much of a chance to learn around the X. He would get aggravated that I did not hand him a tool without him asking for it. Apparently, he thought he married a psychic!

Wow...(((hugs))) all around for those who are sickly and/or having bad day(s)! That's not the way to begin a new year!

Dh and I are trying to stay warm here in SunnyLand. I try to keep the ac/heat thermostat adjusted enough to keep us as comfortable as possible and use as little electricity as we can. There seems to be a very thin line between too cool and too warm & humid. The temp can be cool, but if there's rain the house still gets too humid -- wish I could send you some Kathryn! I've had my sweatshirt jacket on most of the day today and dh had an extra sweater and was bundled under a blanket for a while.

Harmony, I kwym about the street names. Here in our county we have quite a few roads with more than one name. One in particular runs the whole county starting with county road #, then three other street names! Hope you can figure out a good route you won't get lost on.

Lilac, I was sorry to read about both your dsissinlaw.

Elizabeth, I agree with what Lilac said about you and your projects and your dd. It seems like the two of you have grown closer this past year.

Yesterday we braved the I275 freeway to go across the bay to IKEA; we haven't been shopping there for about 6 months. Traffic wasn't as bad as usual, even coming home at rush hour, but they are doing road work again. It seems they just finish one project and start another right away. It usually is to reroute the highway and adjust the exits. So each time driving it is confusing! It was nice walking around there, though. They've added a lot of new things and different display rooms.

Today hasn't been as productive as I hoped. I did get am routine done, kitchen cleaned up, etc. I don't seem to want to do anything that takes much energy, I've been sneezing and my nose is runny. Hope I'm not catching "whatever". Whenever we are shopping I run the other way if someone near sneezes or coughs and when we get home I scrub my hands before doing anything else! I hope it's just getting adjusted to the cool weather!

I think I'll go print out the focus cleaning schedule and get the rounds on my 3 x 5's so I can get my card file up to date for the year.

Sadie, our school system has announced that they don't think they'll have to delay school after all tomorrow. There are slight improvements in the forecast, although we are extremely cold and blustery, under a wind chill advisory and severe weather alert, they say. There has been a lot of talk about whether buses should run at the normal time or not, so I imagine some bus drivers are less optimistic than their bosses!

A lot of declutter in master bedroom today.

Errands - Picked up prescription from pharmacy 2. Made a WMart run for 3 items. They were either out or I had to substitute for each. As per usual, several more things found, however.

A phone call came when I had just gotten my timer in my hand for another round, and I said to myself, "This will probably be the end of that." Quite true.

It was a dear friend from church bluntly pleading for help. I said "yes" when asked to alternate teaching Bible Study at the monthly circle meetings. I start in March, but will of course feel obligated to be present for every meeting. This is something I've avoided for a long time, knowing that once I started attending, it would be nearly impossible to stop - ever - for the rest of my life. And the co-teacher is suffering from some ill health, so I wonder how much will be asked of me next year. But my dear friend is so right that we are running the risk of losing our circle if membership dwindles much more, and I wouldn't want that. I've found the book online and will start studying when it arrives.

Back from work and a couple errands; checked email. Eating a snack.

I'd forgotten what a HUGE chunk of my day work takes. I guess that kind of goes without saying. . .

I walked w/ dfriend this a.m. It was very pretty with snow on the ground and clear blue sunny skies. We only walked for 40 minutes, not b/c of the cold but b/c we seemed finished with the paths in the nearby park after 40 minutes. I actually was very comfortable all bundled up, and I think she was too. We had a cup of tea together at my house since our walk was shorter than usual. I then prepped for class, taught, ran my errands at the pet store and TJ, came home, put everything away, and made sure hens could get to food (they were out).

Next, I was going to finish tidying the kitchen and get dinner going for dd16, but now there's no rush since she has an appointment for her oboe to get fixed at 6 pm, and she is gone right now to Jo-ann to buy supplies? for her etsy orders. I think we're eating later tonight.. . .

I have been trying to figure out how to do the training videos and just now find I was mistaken in what to do. I thought I would be training people to use my reports, nope, I will be training them to create and use their own reports. <SIGH> I think I will go make an outline of what my video will have on it. <double SIGH>

We're supposed to go down to 40° tonight.

Mail brought back 2 more envelopes, 1 needing postage and 1 sent to the wrong address and the forwarding has expired. Was this guy never going to tell us he moved? How long does the post office forward mail, is it a year or 6 months? I can't seem to do anything right these days.

Got my inside Christmas boxes all packed up and up the ladder onto the top closet shelf. I had to move a bunch of stuff around as this year it wouldn't fit into the same spot. Wore me out doing that, I'm back in PJ's and went back to bed.

That's all I accomplished today. At least I did do something.
Watching the news, it's very sad, and the world is not a very safe place any more.
