^ That's not very original, but since I apparently have not posted in two days, I thought I'd make sure I at least said hello to everyone today!
All is well here -- just busy w/errands Monday and taking down Christmas today. Combined w/laundry PLUS dgs's help, today has been an extremely busy day! Tomorrow will be I r o n I n g day, and I am really ashamed to tell y'all how long it has been since it was done. So I may be ironing until my arms fall off.
Really enjoyed dgs today although he is into EVERYTHING. Oh my.
Also wanted to send ((( BIG BIG BIG HUGS))) to Harmony... For ALL the irritations of the day, and for Kathryn, bc I have certainly BTDT with the pizza box on the table. Hope it clears up tomorrow.
I'm sure there are others needing some hugs and prayers too. I hope ALL OF YOU do have a wonderful day. I'll be checking in from the Mount of Ironing.
Wonderful Wednesday

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Good morning, dear friends.
Checking in before starting car. Today is reasonable - tomorrow, they tell us, may find the school system delaying. We are in for a cold blast.
Kathryn, what a tough evening you had. The ring-ish circle on my dining table did recover from the cloudiness and so I hope this happens for you. Hmmm... ... I don't think it recovered in 12-24 hours, though. It took longer than that.
BookSaver, I hope you have a lovely morning sewing.
Lilac, I was sorry to hear about your haircut and realizing too late she put in unwanted layering when you were trying to grow it out. That is so frustrating.
I, too, had a long phone call last evening as BookSaver did. I was proud of myself for keeping moving, continuing to do some chores if less efficiently. It kept me in a more pleasant mood as the conversation went on longer than necessary.
Many ta-das yesterday as I just got into a groove and put in hours on the focus areas, both cleaning and declutter. I was very pleased. I don't usually do that. The concept of "getting ahead" in Focus is not all that familiar to me!
I am wondering if it has to do with my new, very visual , planner for it.

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Good morning! Dd16 has left, I've looked at emails and written a couple short responses, and made myself a mug of tea.
Yesterday was pretty productive for me. Not only did I get the New Year card/letter taken care of, I went to the groc. store, started the crock pot with a new to me recipe (Moroccan chicken - good! It was spicy enough but needed more flavor, imho. Dh is the one to figure that out), made one big trip to campus to: (1) drop dd19 at her dorm (2) drop ds at his house (3) exchange T shirt for dniece at campus shop and (4) stop by the school to get my class assignment and books. All those errands went faster than I thought, and even with sitting in the parking garage for 15 minutes, waiting for the line of cars to exit the garage (maybe something on campus ends around 3:30?? I unknowingly found a parking space on the first level, and nobody was letting me get out and join the line. . . ), I left the house at 2 and got home at 4. I then probably wasted a little time before cleaning up the kitchen and getting the rest of dinner ready. After dinner, I said good bye to dh, whose flight was delayed, allowing him to sit and eat with dd16 and me more leisurely, cleaned up the kitchen w/ dd16, took garbage and recycling to the curb. I also firmed up organizing the steering committee to provide snacks and child care for moms group tomorrow. I then indulged in watching the latest D.A. episode, which I probably should not have done since there are a ton of other things I needed to do and it was a long episode. .
Today will be full.
- dfriend B will be here around 9:30 to walk with me. Yes, highs are forecast to be about 6*F then, but we walk all year long, have done this for several years, and just bundle up well.
- prep for teaching
- I teach 1:30 - 3:30
- errands in nearby little shopping area: pet store for g. pig supplies and TJ for coffee for moms group tomorrow
- dinner will be mac 'n cheese casserole for dd16, a lean cuisine for me. Salad and bread and maybe fruit to round out the meal.
Next for me: a.m. routine. I need to be out of the shower early enough to let my hair dry before we walk.
For those of you with techie interests, I posted a video in MO that features a high-profile project of dh and colleague's. Dh explains very simply the basics of the microprocessor. You even get to see a bit of his lab and one of his Korean grad students.

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
(((DKathryn))) and (((DHarmony))), wishing for both of you a much better day today. May you both feel better. Hoping your table looks better this morning, Kathryn.
I know, you know of what I speak, Harmony. I worry more about his well being than anything I guess.
I was awake from about 2:40-6:15 or so
and then didn't wake until 8:45. How I wish I knew why I'm so awake in the middle of the night. It's a vicious circle because then I'm dragging the next day and need a nap, which leads me to sleeplessness>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Went to breakfast with dbil/dsisil and her dsis yesterday morning. Then we went to their house for about 2 hours. Dh had to install 3 ceiling lights for them. It gets harder and harder to be around dsisil. Wasn't always like this. I'm more and more sure that something is really going on with her internally, but for her to go to a doctor would be almost unheard of. While there the dsis of dsisil's best friend called and they were on their way from Disney and wanted to stop. We knew them from years (and years) ago so waited for them to come. Stayed long enough to visit a few minutes and then came home. It was well over 30 years since we'd seen them. Figured the 4 of them would want to catch up.
Only 53 out there this morning -but I'll not complain. I could be up north in the deep freeze.
Think I'll figure a couple of small projects for today and try to get as many steps in as I possibly can. Thinking that not walking enough is a good part of my problem.

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Since it is Jan. 8 in Australia, I want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYNLEE. I hope you are having a special day.
I woke up at 6:16 and after looking at the clock decided to see if I could fall back asleep. I did and when I woke up 2 hours later, I wished I would have gotten up earlier.
It is cloudy, windy and bitter cold. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Guess I better have breakfast.

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
There's a faint cloudiness on the table where the cloudiness was and one much smaller area where it is still cloudy but not visible from all angles. I'll give it more time.
My upset this morning is that the new humidifier worked a total of 4 nights. I just noticed that the water level is unchanged for the past 2 nights, which explains the lower overnight humidity in the bedroom (my 30+ year old vaporizer gets it up to 35% when we block the air vents in the bathroom.) But the humidifier is outside the no-questions asked return policy so I'll have to make a warranty claim. Four nights! Sigh....
I'm so upset by all this humidity mess. This is not a 'money can solve it' problem (aside from moving), this is a $300+ in equipment and then 5 hours a week in maintenance and having to replace filters every 3 months (so more money.) Oh, and put up with the noisy fan 24/7.
It is the noise and maintenance that I don't look forward to.
I'm still in pjs. Got out of bed at 8:30 and ds arrived at 9:10. He's doing laundry. I've had breakfast now and read a chapter of the novel I'm reading. Been entertained by ds telling me stories from the ski hill on Sunday (they had three back-board emergencies and the same ambulance crew came each time to transport to the hospital so they were being teased that all ski patrol calls end up on the backboard.) Tidied the kitchen and need to get into the shower. I had planned on swimming but got up too late. I have a meeting at 1 so may have lunch out. It is very cold outside today (-20*F ) Ds is on the ski hill tonight. I don't envy him at all!

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Been working on my annual report. There are some things I can complete while waiting for the rest of the reports to come in. Hoping to have them all (except the treasurer's report) within the next couple of days.
I would feel very good to have them all done and ready to send by next Monday. Then I can focus on the treasurer's reports once they come in. He has to wait until he has everything from different banks and investments companies.
I'm working on clearing the dining room table. Still had wrapping materials and some gifts (for 2015) on there. Guess I have it done now. Next up is to 'neaten' up dsonil's recliner area.
DD bought him a new (Mexican) blanket for Christmas while on our cruise and he has that plus 3 other blankets in there. Doubt he needs them all. He still sleeps in the recliner. Don't know what he'll do when it finally gives out. DD wants a new mattress but is kinda waiting to see if they'll move. If so, she wants to wait until that move instead of moving the mattress. My take is -just get it. We also need one. Ours is one that dd came down here with 20 years ago. It sags and I'm having a hard time staying on it. Maybe later this month. One little tip a 'mattress guy' gave dsisil last week - (They bought a new one last year and already need a new one). He suggested that they purchase a water proof mattress pad (not one with the plastic being noisy obviously) if sweating is a problem as that will affect the mattress. So far she hasn't seen one, but I'll look online. Bet I can find a good one there. (P.S. will have to tell her to look at B ed, B ath & B eyond. Looks like they have a few at a reasonable price.)

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
checking in. I am in the basement with papers etc. and am trying to stay away from dream world ideas. I am trying to focus in on putting like things together - so far I have all my blank, lined, 5 x 7 yellow pads together in one see through container.
I am trying to stay out of the museum business, at my home, by letting go. a couple years ago it was all my crafts except what I was working on at the time. The knitting school took some unique patterns - such a delicate long knit wedding cape (it was stunning)
I dislike having to touch everything to see what it is but here I go .... time to put like things together again.. Its hard for me.
