DPCs done. The money is found, but not where I would like to find it! Months ago, I started the rollover process. After much back and forthing, all seemed happy with the paperwork they had been given. Today, I find out that, even though the money is MINE, I cannot request it to be transferred. For this particular profit sharing plan, the trustee (owner of the company I was laid off from) must request the transfer in a letter. He will do this, I have no doubt. Not only will he do it, he will do it quickly. What aggravates me to no end is WHY DIDN'T THEY TELL ME THIS WHEN I SENT THE PAPERWORK BEFORE!!! And why should SOMEONE ELSE have to request MY money for me! It is a good thing I am moving it, what if something were to happen to him? Are all the accounts then in limbo until probate?

Once again, I have called the life insurance people to get the address changed on DD's life insurance policy. The X pays that bill. I keep getting him to change the billing address, but they keep changing it back. WHY??? This time I changed it (will it make any difference?) and they are sending the change of address confirmation to my address. Maybe. I had to explain twice which was billing address and which was notification address. Interestingly, I am listed as the only beneficiary. It's no longer my job to monitor his finances, I did enough of that when we were married. It took him almost 3 years to finally get some money I owed him. He needed to sign ONE FORM, which the financial adviser had already filled out.

I also called the vet to get any results from dFosterCat15's tests. She is still gulping. She also either coughs or sounds like she is about to throw up.

Today has been useless and aggravating. At least the weather is clearing up. By the time I have to drive, it should be all clear. (Thanks blessedw2 for your concern. To answer your questions: no rain, no floods, just snow and icy roads, which should be melted by evening.)

Tonight is Girls' Night Out with DD12. She is having a snow day. I will try to get her to another venue besides the same old. Many things on my home task list. Many things on my payroll task list, none of which I can get done until other problems are fixed. Two database queries have been running > 1 hour (each). Must be lunch time.

I had a nice warm bath and got dressed. I put in a LOL and tidied up the kitchen and ran the dishwasher. I made another pot of coffee. I went through a stack of files and sorted/filed stuff away, getting all that out of our way.

Then DH comes in and informs me the one form I sent out with him couldn't be submitted because I had a tiny spot of white-out tape on it. Why is it all the rules have to be followed 150% when it's stuff for us to do...but other people doing their jobs can slide by with their shoddy work? I told DH it feels like the whole world pounds on us, including things from our spiritual life where I think WE are following all the rules.

I've heard the dryer. I need to do that next and then start more paperwork. I've gotten a meal out of the freezer for tonight.

Lucylee, when we do a chicken, even a rotisserie one from the store, when I'm done with the meat I boil up the bones. I strain that and put it in the refrigerator; when it gets solid I skim any fat off the top and put it in a container in the freezer. I most always have chicken broth on hand then and it's better than straining soup or buying the stuff that the store sells. Course, that means you would have to be eating chicken at home...

If y'all already read my first post, go back and see those two links I added for planners. Just curious as to what y'all think about all these bells and whistles people are coming up with.

I can sorta see why my cousin -- age 29, mother of two (age 5 & 1) -- would want something fancy. She is a part-time photographer, she and her husband are in the process of remodeling a house and hope to move in soon, and she is constantly helping friends redecorate, plan parties, etc. So she has a LOT of different irons in the fire and probably does have some trouble keeping them all straight. I, on the other hand, I think I'm just in love with the pretty colors and glossy pages and neatly divided sections. I'm afraid after I filled it all out neatly with my fine-point black pen, and highlighted my special dates... then I'd be... "Oh well... I don't want to s/s the toilets right now."

Course, that means you would have to be eating chicken at home...

Kathryn - I recently replaced my ??20 year old?? swim suit. I bought this one and like it so far. Although I haven't actually swam in it yet.

LucyLee - I like those planners and in IMHO would be worth the cost.....if they were utilized. I suspect the most expensive planner is one that isn't used. I found a planner I like at WM this year. It is pretty, functional for the way I use a planner and has large spaces for me to write. It is a monthly weekly planner in the See it Bigger series by PlanAhead company. I like it better than the expensive planners I looked at.

Another day. Another project being tackled. We have made the decision to go with cable instead of installing a TV antenna at BH. DH can get all the sports channels (plus 75 more channels) for $60 a month. The cable people are here installing now.

DGD3 is down for a little nap. I will wake her in 10 minutes so we can leave to pick up LO from school. Today is his counselor appt.

And you are exactly right -- the most expensive is the one that is not used.
I think, honestly, I've got a pretty good system -- my problem is totally In WORKING THE PLAN. I don't really have any trouble with PLANNING the plan, LOL. And with basically just dh and me to keep up with, I don't have trouble remembering where I'm supposed to be or when. I just love looking at new toys, I think.

saw d uncle.. he is not doing well... He was very scared last night - he couldn't breath after they tried to get him to walk. Very sad. re: cancer... one dr. talked to me..surgeon and said one thing and doctor that took over told d brother something else - I think they are waiting to see what the tests results are before they make a definite call on how bad it is. He looked bad and his nurse said they don't understand why his body has made a negative turn. So now his seeing a lung and heart specialist. They are taking good care of him.

Ok, this makes me feel so stupid. I can highlight a sentence. Where do I click copy? Are you writing your post in word? I have no button marked copy. There is no copy button in this post a reply screen. What dumb thing am I missing? I'm sure there are instructions somewhere in here for this...

I could have all the planners in the world. I could have great computer skills and computer programs or card systems or notebooks or lists...but what happens if one never has the time to do the majority of this stuff? That's where I am.

Not to mention the stress I am feeling. I am in here a bunch today, just trying to spew out the irritating day I'm having and get rid of the stress...but nothing seems to be working. I think I just need a good cry. And to get better.

DH had to leave the one project for tomorrow. He was running out of time also.

I did make it to 2 banks before they closed. Tenant got caught up and I'm nervous leaving cash around. I try not to ever do that. I have a headache and need to lay down.

A big part of my problem today is a DPC that I really don't want to make, and procrastinating that duty is bringing down everything else.

I'm going to change into outdoors clothes and go to the post office. Maybe that will reset my day?

PS: Harmony ~ To copy, I use ctrl c and then paste with ctrl v. Or you could also right click on the mouse, that will bring up options. (This is for a PC with Windows, I don't know what to do for a MAC.)

Migraine meds taken, along with caffeine in the form of a Coke. Minute payroll progress made: I was able to remote login to the server where my problem lies. However, I cannot actually open the folder to look at the data and programs needed. This is an easily solvable permissions issue, but depends on someone else to fix. Two queries running close to an hour each. I had hoped that by running them on the machine that has the database, they would run faster. Not so.
