Hope your day is nothing short of TERRIFIC! Hoping that the FL connection can all become better (lots better) -especially Sunny and Harmony. I could use a little of that as well.
Dh needed to meet another guy up at church this morning at 6:30. Meeting him for breakfast and then they have an AC man coming to inspect that. Wife of friend wanted me to come too, but I'm not up to that or being with someone and spreading germs. Unfortunately when I 'get' something, it manages to just hang on. This cold is just teetering -between getting worse and getting better. I vote for 'better'.
I think our ice maker is broken. It has made NO ice in the last three hours.
DD and dsonil had that problem for weeks, LucyLee. They have a home warrantee insurance policy and I finally asked her if the refrigerator was covered -she hadn't thought about it -it was. S ears came to fix it and it was a little electrical part but I can't tell you what. It was a pretty easy fix however.
Yes, get better, Dee! Sounds like several here are still under the weather. ((HUGS)) to all. Cyber hugs are germ-free. LOL! I'd give you a hug irl too. I don't tend to get sick very easily.
Just peeking in. I am ready for class today, made the quiz and plans last night. I did not get to the snail mail bills or more new year cards. I'll see if I can make a dent in those this a.m. - for maybe 15 minutes. Then, I need to get ready to go.
Today, is jam packed with just 30 - 40 minutes here and there at home without guests until about 8:30 or 9:00, depending on when guest A leaves tonight. Tomorrow will be similar.
Today:
morning tasks; leave the house at 8:30
moms group 8:45 ~ 12:00 with set up and clean up
home 12:20 - 12:50; lunch, more bills and cards?
teach 1:30 - 3:30
home 4:10 - 4:50; make cornbread, look over Hebrew passage
Hebrew class 5 - 6
help dh with dinner: chili over rice, roasted broccoli, cornbread
dfriends here for Thursday dinner 6:30 - 8:30 or so
grade quizzes
go to bed at a decent hour
Have a terrific day, Helia. I like cyber hugs and IRL ones as well!
There is enough change and progress to keep me reaching for the timer.
That certainly is motivation, Harriet -especially when those changes add up with each segment we do. 15 minutes at a crack can make a big difference, no doubt. That's Terrific!
About that recipe book ("Aunt Bee's") - it has a high reputation and is quoted often I've noticed. I certainly have it here. To me, if you finished your chicken cooking and felt you didn't have broth that suited you, or didn't have enough, wouldn't you just add some (low sodium) canned broth to make up to the correct amount? I wouldn't worry about that.
Raccoon and possum recipes - As far as having on hand recipes for raccoon and possum, I may not use them but I wouldn't want to think we'd all forgotten how to make them. We have an old story in the extended family about possum stew served at a lovely bridal dinner for a daughter, and many compliments all around. Probably trapped, though, when you think about it, and not hunted, since shotgun pellets are problematic.
Vacuuming - I, too, worry about back and hip with vacuuming. Try as I might, either rolling the full vacuum or taking out the part that you carry, I find that I quickly get back into the very movements that bother me. (Similar to carrying a heavy bucket.) Using left hand only, will help a little if you can remember. The best help I've found is dividing the chore between rooms. Heading toward other rooms to do "a little more" means I'll later regret it, and is another reason for "room by room" thinking for me. I believe this is affecting the same area(s) that were affected by carrying children on my hip all those years. Another help that should not be forgotten is that lassoing teenager to do the work will help.
Hmmmm.....now just where did I put my lasoo? Oh, that's right -I don't have any teenagers around anyway. Now up north that could be a different story. DGD15 has offered to come help me anytime with woodwork and windows (have plenty of both in our park model!). Maybe I'll take her up on it this summer. Know all that wood could use a good dose of moisturizing.
I'm still in isolation, lest this attitude be contagious.
Am working on the Feb 5 service, my next working Sunday. I have 4 services to write so that our leaving and return will be less stressful.
Speaking of stressful - I need a new bathing suit. Did the first round of shopping for one yesterday at a specialty shop. I will wait for Walmart to get their stock in, me thinks. The least expensive (which I liked the best but wasn't perfect) was $92.50. The most expensive $250 (it also felt awful and looked like it felt.)
Yes, this will be a Terrific Thursday. I am feeling a weight off my shoulders by getting it out there that I am not continuing as Treasurer.
That said, I have a very busy day today...in no particular order
-PT
-P/u meals for dmom and visit
-Groceries
-drop letters at post office
-p/u photos at W algrens (should do before I go to dmom's)
-get dMacs to the vet to get drain out
-deposit at mother's bank
-staples or another store for printer ink cartridges (I'm out of Cyan and yellow - every time I send something to the printer, even if it's black and white and I've already specified that, I have to go hit the button to tell it to print black and white. I suspect this is a ploy so I have to buy the color cartridges - even if I were printing everything in black and white, it wants to question me every time.)
So I need to be at PT in a little less than an hour. From there I will go to p/u meals for dmom and visit her. Also call vet re taking dMacs in to get drain out late this afternoon. Then I'll work in whatever else I can do.
Oh, I like that, Twins. Passing on our "terrific mood" to you, Kathryn. We all want to see you as your usual cheery self. Blessings!
I just finished writing up the church council minutes (what's up with that???? -I'm about 2 weeks or better ahead of myself!) Yay! Now to send them off to our moderator. Want her to check them against her memory since I wasn't able to be 'there' via Skype. One of our guys loaded it onto the church's laptop but the Wi-Fi just wouldn't reach to our meeting room. I want them to take it into our fellowship hall some evening this week to make sure it will work on Sunday for our Annual Meeting. There's little sense in my rushing home from church here to 'attend' the meeting there if it's not going to work. Thinking about going to my db/dsisil's for an overnight Sunday. So if the meeting's 'on' it would mean driving back here, only to cover the distance again to go to my db's. Did that make sense?
sending a quick hi!!!
dhelia sorry about your guinea pig. She did live a good life!
kathryn ... sending you and everyone an awesome day.
harmony .. feel better
to everyone hello and a great day to you.
heading over to uncles at noon... doctor is now saying everything is fine.. a little confused by what he told me... maybe he spoke too soon. right now he is saying that they have to wait on results. so maybe he doesn't have cancer...it's not what he said when I was there. mmmm but at least it's a positive side. He is healing well - a good thing!
I am falling behind so I must take some action. have a lovely day!!!
