2 baskets of laundry are put away. Everything went on to hangers and most of it wasn't mine.

Time to do last night's dishes.

Thanks for the reassurance that everybody does it this way. It does seem logical, and realistic -- although a bit pessimistic.
But that is what we will do, as well, and probably say very little about it when we do.
It will be enough that eventually this house of dmil's will probably be on a deed that includes ds and ddil, right?

Dmom called and while we were talking, I asked her how much dbil had charged her for the estate details w/ddad's will, and she said she thought only about $100 -- but she paid for the newspaper notice herself, and of course, there were no real deed changes to be made -- everything just went to her. With our situation, dbil will be making out new wills, and having property surveyed to draw new lines, so it will be a lot more involved. But dmom said she didn't think dbil would be unreasonable or unfair about it, b/c she thinks he is too professional for that; and she is probably right -- dbil is a lot of things, but unprofessional is NOT one of them. Everything he does has to be completely by the letter... every t crossed and every i dotted. So I will hope for the best and *HOPE* he gets it done SOON.

Did I tell y'all we came across a ziplock bag of cookie cutters yesterday? I put those in dniece's box. There is no telling how many cookies she has baked in that kitchen, so I thought she would appreciate those. I may go back and put the biscuit cutters in her box too.

We are back from the funeral visitation and we swapped the sheets. I'll try to put a link to what I ended up with. 100% Egyptian cotton this time!
And boy, they better be good. I told the clerk, it's bad when a $100 gift card ends up costing you $100, isn't it? * sheesh * But that wouldn't be the case if I handn't bought other stuff too.
Ate too many carbs... too too too many carbs. Pepperoni pretzel AND cinnamon pretzel bites. I'm about to have a blood sugar crash.

I'm not going to post links this time, b/c again, they are long links w/all kinds of symbols/etc in them.
Both products still only get three stars, but from the first few I read, people were complaining about the bottom sheet wearing out before the top sheet. Oh well, these are probably by far the most expensive sheets I've ever bought, so surely they will be better than what we're using now.

I have always thought our children spouse are included in the will in a round about way. When we die, our children inherit. when our children die the spouse gets his/her assets....which will include our assets unless they already spent it.

My day went like this....
DGD3 is here all day (stayed the night)
5:00 Up for my quiet time and personal care
7:45 Take LO to school
8:30 Take DH's pickup to Rick for transmission repairs. That leaves us with ONE vehicle again.
9:00 DD here to see DGD3 before she starts working @10am
9:30 Take DH to MPD. - DH working on spot free motor. It will NOT play nice.
11:00 - Go get DH from MPB for lunch and to keep DGD3.
12:00 I volunteer at school for 2 hours this afternoon
2:15 - Attend Friday focus monthly meeting
3:00 - get LO from school
3:30 - Take DH to MPB
Arrive home STARVING because I missed eating lunch. Cook supper
4:30- get DH from MPB To eat supper
5:30 -8:00 DH & LO go to Sparring lessons (I am restricting myself from attending.....I'm not into sparring. Especially when LO is kicking a girl.)

In between things today I managed to FINALLY get our Home Warranty straighten out and paid. It has dragged on too long.

I also found time to call BH insurance people. They sent a letter saying our home is greatly under insured and they were raising the coverage. Harrumph! There is a $144K difference between the appraisal amount (our purchase price) and the insurance inspector/appraisal replacement amount. The insurance uses the replacement amount. That $144K increase in coverage raised our home insurance another $448 a year. I have already shopped around and know this is the best price we can get, so I guess it is what it is.

DSis dropped by to get a tour of our home while I was cooking supper, monitoring DGD3 having a 3-year-old-didn't-get-a-nap melt down, and getting LO dressed for Karate. NO PROBLEM. I can add an unexpected tour to the mixture. Welcome to my crazy world.

Lucyl. Good for you putting the cookie cutters in for dniece. I ended up w mil cookbooks. I was surprised that sils did not want em so when dd was learning to cook she got em.

We had take out for dinner.

ff I have been wondering how to describe the fog we have the same kind here too thanks for sharing that.

I spiffed up while the toddler was napping. I still need to get on the gazelle.

The sheet talk this week got me motivated on buying a set of sheets for our bed. I went for the high quality pillow cases but the lower thread count fitted sheet. We don't use a top sheet. Until our life gets past the phase we are in now, I'm not putting a lot of money into sheets. This week our sheets have been puked on (LO) and pee'd on (DGD3). The most important thing to have on my bed is a good quality mattress protector!

My online shopping is increasing by leaps and bounds. In 2014, I made 159 online orders. In 2015 I have made already made 31 online orders. Once I learned from the Coupon Mom about saving $$ online, I even have our toilet paper delivered.

I decided on the LO friends birthday gifts for the year. This is going to be the year of the watches. After receiving 2 birthday invites this week, I sat down and made the decision and ordered a dozen kid watches in various colors and styles. LO is frequently invited to birthday parties so I'm making the gifts easy & a no-brainer. Everyone is getting a watch. I'll probably have to order more in a few months, but that will also be a no-brainer.

Sorry for being a "board hog", but I'm all alone for TWO WHOLE HOURS and I'm in kick-back mode.

We received a typed letter of introduction from the parents of one of LO classmates. We have never met them (or their child) but they wanted us to let LO get into their vehicle and drive 50 miles to go see a movie, then stay the night with them. I txt them and explained LO had Karate lessons tonight so he would not be there. They txt back saying they would change the birthday party to Saturday afternoon so LO could attend. I txt them back and explained LO was already invited to another birthday party tomorrow afternoon. The parents saw me at school today and introduced themselves and told me they really wanted LO to go with them tonight, could he skip Karate lessons. REALLY? Does this seem weird to anyone else? Total strangers to us wait until 24 hours before the "party" to invite LO. They change the date/time trying to get him to attend. Why are they hounded me to have LO with them this weekend? Am I being over protective? I am already on guard because LO father moved back to our state this last week. I'm sorry if I appear rude to this young couple, but NO, our 6 year old is not getting into your vehicle alone to drive off and spend the night. NOT HAPPENING.

Watches are a good idea.

LadyM, our kids didn't spend the night with anyone but family at that age. The couple may have made a promise to their child in haste that they can't keep, and perhaps he isn't used to disappointment.

Btw, about that review complaining about bottom sheets - bottom sheets ALWAYS wear faster than top sheets. When we turn in bed, we tug along the bottom sheet's fibers, but not the top's. That's why it's good to alternate the way the bottom sheet is turned on the mattress. It will wear fastest under hips, and that's usually off-center, so you can get it to last longer by changing the direction.

I am going to hit the start button on the dishwasher. That seems to be the dime upon which my household turns.

I amused that so many of us have bought sheets this week because of Lucylee's giftcard!

I had the same bottom sheet wears faster issue until I switched to duvet covers and figures out I had all these leftover top sheets that I could use as bottom sheets. With a waterbed, flat or fitted makes little difference (actually flat is easier to tuck in.) Even so, I find the fine cotton ones last way less long than old fashioned cotton polyester or 100% cotton 'antique' sheets. I gave away several sets that were 20+ years old when I moved but not worn out. They went to the dog rescue organization to use as bedding for the animals just because I didn't think anyone would buy 20+ year old sheets from a thrift store.

We had dinner and I watched too much tv.

Before dinner, we walked to the store for milk and rice.

Arriving back, I stop to pick up mail, while dh reties his hiking boot before starting to walk up to the apartment.

My hands are full of mail, hat & mitts when I come out of the mail room to wait for the elevator.

Dh (as he heads to the stairs): Would you like me to carry something for you?
Me (as I walk into the elevator): Nope, I'm fine!

Funny thing he wasn't being ironic, he was really offering to lighten my load although he is now walking up to the 22nd floor, with 8 liters of milk and 2kg of rice in the his backpack!
