Good morning, villagers ~
This morning I'm due at the library at 8:30 to set up tables & chairs, and decorate the room for tomorrow's Fancy Nancy party. I'm not sure how long that will take ... but I still need to figure out my own Fancy Ensemble to wear to the party, so I cannot be at the library all day playing with decorations.

Lilac ~ What a relief that your DH is starting to get some answers about his ear problem. I hope he does not need surgery, but if he does, think how much medical technology has improved since your DSisIL had the problem so many years ago. There are a lot more options these days.

Lucylee ~ I think it's cool that your DS likes and is able to wear his grandfather's suits.

Harriet ~ I don't blame DD16 for being upset that a teacher has marked her absent more than once. Maybe she could make herself a funny oversized nametag, the kind that says "HELLO My Name Is Harriet's DD16" with a fancy border, to put on just for that class for a few days in a row. It's possible that the teacher is bad with names & faces, and has her mixed up with another girl. I hope your older DD is feeling much better today.

Hi everyone!

Currently -7 Celcius outside on my balcony according to our weather station. 19.5 inside.

If it's Friday, then it must be laundry day. I also would like to get my hair washed and I was thinking about going to the bank as well, but that can wait for Monday.

I also need to clean the cat litter box.

I know there must be other things, but they are escaping me right now.

LOL, BookSaver, I was thinking if it was an English class (which it is not) she could enter saying, “We are here! We are

Dd35 did not take her last dose of meds and was talking with dr's office about whether they wanted her to come in again. She's learned that although stress doesn't cause reactions to meds (or other things), if under stress, the reaction can be slower to go away. She thinks her work is causing stress because of additional responsibilities (and title) added to her workload after her plan was chosen for that "future of the college" project. She says the workload has become like a penalty for offering ideas. So she's talking to her boss.

I walked out of the kitchen last night, checked all the counters for crumbs, made sure the new eggs were refrigerated, and never hit the button to start the dishwasher. So my morning was off-kilter waiting on dd's shower and unable to do laundry.

Today the truck needs to go in for inspection. About to wait too long.

Dd16 has decided to decline an invitation to a birthday party for kids younger than she that is going to be held at a frantic loud party game place. She went to this same one last year and was miserable. So we are sending a birthday card instead and I got that done this morning with a small money gift in a tag that looks like a present.

cat little boxes - so grateful HRH has just never requested help with this chore.

downtown again... I have been doing paperwork like crazy and haven't had a chance to go exploring. I will next week. driving seems to be a bit cheaper for me than taxi's and train - but the train is mentally easier and gets us in earlier. today we left on the train at 6:30 and got to the front door at 7:40 which is so much better... it took us 2 hours to get home in traffic the other day. next week, after monday, dd younger will be going downtown by herself but I still plan on having fun traveling and sight seeing like a tourist.

dd younger - she has met some interesting and really nice people - She is now part of a study through Northwestern university hospital - she is still the only one with this disorder in the whole program. She is in more pain but that is probably from all the work they do so hopefully she can get those nerve endings under control. Saying my prayers to see her using two shoes again and being able to move around. She is very positive.

Got to sleep in till six thirty the roo coop is working the neighbors said they could not hear him yay! No kids till this afternoon.
Need to trim my bangs and hubby hair cut us due also.

I paid attn. To some of my 6 mit things from yesterday this morning. Journal done.

It has been raining we have some fog not to the ground however.

Turning up the waterbed heater was the trick. Both dh and I slept better last night and with fewer blankets. I also moved the humidifier from under the window to behind our heads and the humidity level where we sleep was much higher last night. Dh has permanently placed it now.

I'm moving slowly this morning due to a bum leg. It gets triggered by sitting so I'm trying not to sit today but that is difficult. When I do go to sit to write the rest of the sermon, I'll settle on the recliner and at least have my leg out straight.

I have done my floor exercises as well. I think that might be my Feb. goal - do them every day.

I want to walk to the bank and jeweler today but it is bitterly windy so probably won't. The snow has stopped and most things are plowed now so the footing should be fine, it is just the wind. Even so, it is much warmer than it was last week when I was out walking daily.

Next up: work on the sermon.

Good morning, everyone!

Harmony -- I saw your post last night about the mess dh & his crew are into w/the house they're working on. Ugh. YES... things could be sooo much worse for us. Our biggest problems are mildew in the basement and dust everywhere else. Yes... things are quite fine in lucyland. Still wondering what a termite inspection will show, but there is certainly no reason -- no outward signs -- to actually suspect damage anywhere. We just think dmil let her termite bond expire some years ago, so... we'll be a little wary of that until we get someone out there and get an all clear on that.
Another reason for wanting as much as possible cleared OUT of the house is that dmil was very much against bug sprays in the house, so she had problems with ants, and probably other things. We want the lady who to does our house to come in and do a thorough spraying as soon as we get the house as EMPTY as possible.
I guess we should write down these things...
* Get dbil's to clear out his stuff, make decisions
* Discard, declutter all that is possible
-- contact antique lady
-- contact my dmom & daunt, maybe dh's cousin, who it just occured to me might want a keepsake
-- contact ds's friend, who deals with antiques & aution companies regularly
* Sell whatever we can
* Termite people
* Bug people
* Turn it over to ds and help him as necessary w/renovations!

Good morning everyone! Yesterday was interesting. I was supposed to attend the training being given by our office. At the morning meeting, I was assigned to PERFORM some of the training! So the morning was spent planning what to say. THEN, I found out that of the four reports I had been assigned, one had been swapped out for another. This was far too late for me to do any good planning of that. Demo went well anyway. The good thing is that the office where we did the training is very near my arrival train station for when I go home. On their way back to the office, my coworkers dropped me off at my car, and I was able to pick up DD12 1.5 hours earlier than usual. Since today is a school holiday (parent teacher conferences), I had her until 830 instead of 800. We didn't do anything special: played with her chemistry set, decorated a Mardi Gras tree, ate at home, and watched videos of Styx and Twisted Sister and Hogan's Heroes. While watching, I got a little work done on the auction shawl. It is due Wednesday, but there are only two more rows and weaving in ends. Between the train ride tonight and knit/crochet group tomorrow, it will get done. I do have to figure out how to get it to the person collecting them, but I will email her tonight.

After DD left, I did massive kitchen cleanup and a little LR cleanup. Must finish the latter before FlyLady's next focus area. I have decided that changing focus on Sunday does not work for me, I now change on Monday. I also paid bills and don't have much left. The refinance allowed me to skip this month's mortgage payment and it is a darn good thing. I was originally going to make it anyway, as an additional payment to principle, but it is more important that I enlarge my first tier emergency savings, which is LOW. The refi was originally supposed to only put me $500 out of pocket, but the house appraised for lower than expected, so it was more like $1900. I have another payment for the lawyer when the draft of the will is completed and filed. Also, I was not able to fully pay MasterCard this month, but on Friday, I will clear everything I need to.

I FINALLY finished going through the refi and will paperwork!!! I have many revisions to the will. They can be summed up as: I don't want the X, the other woman, either of their families, any step relatives, or any half relatives to serve as trustee or to receive any distributions from my estate. As it is written a trustee can pay a parent or guardian, but they don't have to actually prove that the money was spent on DD. Given their current lifestyle, I don't trust them with DD's money. Besides which, as adulterers, they have proven themselves untrustworthy! If I do die while the trust is in effect, it would almost be worth it to see their faces when they realize they will have absolutely no say whatsoever in the estate!

blessed, this was one of the best little investments - a whole package of glossy folded gift tags made to look like presents, with die-cut "ribbons" at top. Found them at Tuesday Morning for a tiny price. I've been able to use them to hold money when sending a greeting card (like today), or on packages when I wanted to add a little extra gift. I always check Tuesday Morning's stationary aisle when I'm there because I've found they have the most unusual things.

Truck is inspected. One thing off my mind.

Dishes finally dry and put away.

We have a pretty day here, but the wind is so bad and so cold. I saw a fellow walking today and wondered if he was in some kind of distress like a broken down car, because I can't believe anyone would walk in this wind.

The museum has invited the teenagers back for Sunday and I want to look up the artist who will be the speaker. I assume I'll be driving the two girls again.
