Hi everyone! It is a late check in, but not midnight yet. At the morning payroll meeting, I found out about a demo involving my report on THURSDAY!!! This was going to be a huge problem, because I had just reported on issues that were making it NOT WORK! However, someone asked me if I had remembered to put the DAX in the CS file. That was all I needed and it worked within 10 minutes. Now only "beautification" is needed.

I took my half day 'seasonal observance' today. It could be taken any time during a week period, but I postponed mine. Reasons: 1. appointment Friday near work that made leaving early pointless 2. DD13 was still out of town so I had nothing special to do 3. everyone else wanted Friday and we needed to have someone at the office. It wasn't exactly fun and games though. I had to dash off, grab a cat, run to the vet, pick up DD and her stepbrother, drop stepbrother off, then get me + DD + cat home. Then there was some webwork for me, homework for DD, followed by dinner with a friend who is a relative of the clueless hostess from yesterday.

Under the heading HAS THE WHOLE WORLD GONE NUTS???: I found out from my friend that not only is the hostess offended that I hate her chickens, but a mutual friend of ours was also offended. This person WITNESSED THE ATTACK, told the hostess that it was unprovoked, and still thinks I should have positive feelings toward these creatures from Hades?

Under the heading HAVE I GONE NUTS???: I have committed to rebuilding the church website. Several reasons it needs to be done.

The cat had an allergic reaction and his skin is red under all that hair. It looks like he has a sunburn. Probably due to a food change. Tonight, I need to upload the church calendar and Wednesday's menu, give the cat his steroids (no, he didn't eat it in his canned food), clean catboxes, get things ready for tomorrow, and go to bed.

PS: I have used my AMAZING SUPERPOWERS to goodwish everyone's bank account. When you find that unexpected extra 10k+, send me 1% of it. I have also illwished any unwanted pounds into oblivion.

Thank you so much, Elizabeth, for using your powers for good. I really have a lot of unwanted pounds hanging around here.

(((Harriet)))

I am also amazed at how much your dd managed to read, Harriet! With 4 children, right? Of did I count this new baby twice? AND she has a very demanding job... Somehow I suspect she wastes very little time on the computer... Does she have a housekeeper? I'm not trying to be nosy -- I'm just in such awe. Of course, I shouldn't be... Look at her mom!!! :) of course she's capable of amazing feats!

No household help and sometimes I think her house really looks it, lucylee. Yes, four boys, so there may not be much chance to keep it from disarray. Dsonil works somewhat different hours from her own daytime, M - F. So for instance he was home today, cooked, laundry, etc. And the older boys have specific chores. Another thing I didn't mention is that dd does some kind of speed reading technique sometimes. She is very much like her father and holds herself to high standards, can become disappointed in herself if she's not accomplishing.

That is not really from me. Ds is also a very hard worker with two jobs - this is their ddad in them. I will say that up until my thyroid troubles (perhaps?) or maybe lower back trouble (I wonder?), I did get a lot done in young adulthood, have a lot of "irons in the fire" more often. I used to keep up a big vegetable garden plus flower beds and payroll plus so much church work it would put down a horse. Never a reader, though. These days since eldercare time has eased, I am operating on an "attitude adjustment" and don't judge myself so much by a work gauge any more. My mantra to dd16 is, "Oh, am I not working hard enough for you?" and she will laugh, roll her eyes and go do whatever it is herself. Never before have I had this 5:30 alarm thing, either - my entire metabolism/system is in a fight with my wake-up time, I think, and has been for a few years.

Elizabeth, I am sorry those hostile chickens have attacked you and for the way your clueless friend reacted, but, I must say that your descriptions were brilliant and made me actually laugh out loud. Too bad you don't have a pet fox to bring with you to the chickens' house. :D
