Truth be told... hmmm... there's a lot of truths that could be told around here. * sigh * LOL...
Truth be told, dh sometimes drives me just about insane. He is so OCD that any little unexpected thing can sorta get him all out of sorts and stressed out.
Today the thing was ds and contractor friend coming by to look at our outside garage. DS gave us over an hour's warning. I thought that was just fine. I had time to s2s and everything was just fine, but dh was aggravated for some reason. But they have come and gone and all is well, and although no one discussed $$...

... contractor thought there would be no problems at all in doing what we want to with that garage.
Must wait on contractor to get finished w/ds's projects at dmil's...
Must wait on floor man to get laminate flooring taken up at dmom's house...
Must wait on contractor to add 2nd subfloor-plywood layer to upstairs... (
Harmony -- he said it might not be totally necessary, but it would add strength to the floor and he would run the boards the opposite way of the existing boards, which would also add some strength to it. He seemed to think it would be just fine, support-wise.)
Must get pool table moved... Must make SURE the pool table man agrees that he can get it up those stairs... (but contractor seemed to think he would have no problem, said removing the stair rail would be no problem at all.)
Truth be told, my doctor's office staff AND my insurance company are BOTH pretty much incompetent!
I think I told y'all the first two faxes were BLANK from the doctor's office...
Third fax, all complete except ADDRESS/PHONE # line...
On my way to have them re-do w/address, stop at post office, get a letter that insurance needs BLOOD PRESSURE #s...
Well, *+$@!#^* I am looking at the bp #s right there above the cholesterol, triglicerides, etc... *+(@$!#(*
So I go on to the doctor's office, have it redone a fourth time...
came home and called the insurance people and explained to them that I knew they had already received bp #s, but they were receiving a second copy today... she told me to call back Friday and make sure it had arrived (said it would be two weeks before it showed up online, so I could call for faster confirmation.)
Other than that, however, I'm okay with today.
Got the oil changed and tires rotated...
Sent e-mail to dfriend who is retiring...
We did wmart last night...
So things are going pretty well. Of course (truth be told) I could get busy w/whb & zone work, etc. etc. There's always SOMETHING that needs to be done, more than sitting down with a good book, which is exactly what I think I will do shortly.
I keep thinking, two years ago on the first Monday of May, my life was completely different... the date was the 6th, but it was on Monday two years ago, that I was at school, on the phone most of the day back and forth with my dmom, and by this time of day, I knew we were headed to Houston and the end really was drawing near for my ddad. And of course, he passed away just a couople hours before we got there on Tuesday morning. It seems I miss him more now than I did then, you know? Stuff like this morning -- it would be driving me completely into a panic attack, but he would be doing the work on this garage (and ds's house) and the cost to us would be almost nothing... and he would drive me crazy and grumble about dh... but I would sooo treasure his workmanship and expertise and advice on all this. AND... I certainly never expected my dmom to take two years to resume any sort of a normal life, which thankfully, she finally has just begun to make real progress. However, whereas before, my ddad took care of seeing her through all her health issues, now that is up to me. That weighs heavy on my mind. I think the longer time goes on, the less you think about the aggravating things about a person, and the more you remember the good about them. LOL... I definitely have not FORGOTTEN the aggravating things -- my ddad and I were at cross purposes for most of my life -- but he did have good things about him, too, and as time goes on, those are the things you miss, I guess.
OTOH... I am sooo, sooo, unbelievably thankful for the contractor friend who has become a surrogate grandfather for ds. He will do just as good a job on all this work as my ddad would, and ds is learning a lot by being his helper, just as he would if ddad were doing the work. Possibly more so, b/c ddad would have brought in his crew of two or three experienced workers, and this way, it's just ds and the contractor. They've put up walls, finished sheetrock, added electrical wiring... it is a very good experience for ds.
(((
TWINS AND FAMILY))) So, so sad about Moses. (((BIG HUGS))) and much love & prayers for you all as you say good-bye.
Also (((
Lilac & Mr. Lilac))) -- much love and prayers for you two as you travel, and for a successful surgery & quick recovery time for
Mr. Lilac.
Mr. Dee DOES sound as if he's trying to be careful. Wish he'd be a little less stubborn re: pain meds, but that's a man for you.
Y'all are all talking about flowers... not much to say around here. Shrubs are out of control, but none are flowering varieties. We may have a couple of forsythia bushes but over-zealous pruning has just about killed them. The two hydrangeas I planted last year looked like they were gone gone gone, but I noticed they are nicely showing thick green leaves, so maybe they will continue to grow after all.
* whew *
Elizabeth... what a time you've had with the car situation. Hope all goes well once the new alternator is installed!
(((
Harmony))) Hope that knee pain goes away soon.
(((
Nancy))) for the cracked heels. Sounds like you are doing better -- at least, I hope so!
BookSaver -- I hang things to dry in my closet door, and they may stay there for days and days... and dh's ironing is more of a monthly chore than a weekly one, so clean clothes are often on display in our bedroom.
Waving to

Sadie -- and anyone else I may have missed!
