We don't have Directv so I am no help. Most of the news is available online if you can't get it your preferred way.

Different ways of dealing with cold weather......
Local southern people - Stay Home! The roads are clear but out of an abundance of caution school has been cancelled tomorrow.
Northern people - You might need to wear your big coat.

Our school made it the entire day, but they already announced they won't be having school tomorrow. They don't have capabilities of doing virtual school, so they sent paper assignments home with the kids today.

DD11 was pleased with the changes to her bedding. Now that it has become a no drama action, I can do it routinely.

It's not that we "need" to see the news, so much, LadyM, it's just an aggravation. We like the talk shows more than the actual news shows.

Our reaction to snow and ice is definitely the local Southern type! Of course, stay home AFTER you rush to the store and buy out all the bread and milk. DH and I don't really understand that -- we never buy bread (unless specifically needed for a recipe, or rolls when I know I'm going to be cooking) and one bowl of milk with cereal is all that ever gets used here (his.) We buy groceries every Sunday and that lasts the week. Of course, IF we were totally snowed in with no electricity, we might be in trouble... but as you know, a cold spell here is never going to last long. I don't think we're in danger of starvation.

((((((BLESSED)))))) If anyone has earned a crying spell, you definitely have. How terribly frustrating and disappointing to hear that from the ent.
I'm just praying for you that things do work out after all and sending (((BIG HUGS))).

Blessed, I am sorry for the trouble you are having with the ent. And the equipment. It's so very hard to stay flexible when so much important stuff changes quickly. Surely DH won't be coming home before you have your equipment and training. I'll be praying.

Lucylee, News/x is in a snit here because Direct TV has quit carrying them. They have said if people use Direct, call and cancel. Also, AT&T must have done something too because Direct says if we use them for Internet access, cancel that too. AT&T owns CNN I think. It doesn't matter what we believe, and what we watch, I think what's important is that one point of view or another isn't censored. We use Dish and we get both fox and NewsX. AT&T has sent me notices on my phone that since I use them for internet I can have a discount for using Direct TV. My annoyance with Dish is that they've had contract negotiations with CBS for a couple years, and they finally just took down their channel. People were yelling the year that CBS carried the superbowl! Anyway, I find some of the talk shows on You Tube. I've seen Tucker Carlson and Hannity and others there. I watch a little bit, but certainly not non-stop like some people in this house do.

I have some Ta-Da's to report. Yesterday I worked away and kept at it into the night. All my sewing is done. I washed my sheets and then put a new hem border on the sheet and another on one pillowcase that was still too short. The case on my travel pillow I put 2 buttonholes in and sewed on matching buttons. I use that one under my neck. Had to put all the fabric away and close up the sewing cabinet. Everything looks better.

And biggest Ta-Da: DH and I worked on the taller gutters. (I haven't seen any black trim or gutters around here. I see that on HG TV, it's a trend that seems to have missed us so far). Anyway, I have 3 walls of high gutters and for 2 of them I was able to climb up onto the top of DH's big work truck and work from there. The 3rd wall was very hard, I had to do that from a tall extension ladder. We tried the tallest one we have but it was so hard to manage, we almost creamed ourselves trying to set that one up. So we got a lighter ladder out and managed to set that one up and I worked from there. Phew. All the high gutters are cleaned out now. All that's left to do is find new gutter clips like our old ones and put them across on the front porch gutter.

We are both really bushed from all the work. I have 5 things on my list left to do.

CI:
[x] supper (ate at BK, still need to wash dishes that have been sitting since yesterday though, just a couple cups, small things)
[/] laundry (second load ready to hang to dry -- that's all I'm doing tonight)
[x] type church notes -- DONE -- took 30 minutes
[x] also emailed to preacher, church secretary, council president
[x] also organized church notebook (punched holes in sheets, put in binder, etc. Printed new year's roster.)
[x] also btw, I am caught up with other email
[x] printed my daily checklist for February
(despite the fancy expensive planner, this self-made checklist is my best resource, even though I don't follow it every day)

[ ] some catch up stuff from yesterday, just little things like watering plants

I am sleepy after eating supper. Since it's several hours till we'll be turning out the lights around here, I may take a little nap.
I think I could sleep about 20 hours a day.

Harmony, dh says he has heard that also -- that we "should" cancel Directv. We have had Dish before, but we're with Direct now b/c they offer the best sports package for the Atlanta Braves. We could get ATT Uverse but we're kinda suspicious of what kind of service we'd get here -- isn't it internet based? Cable offers good coverage of Braves, but we are one house away from cable service, LOL. Besides, ds tried cable and switched back to Direct after a couple days. Just wasn't happy with it.

I'm resurfacing. I'm exhausted so it won't be for long.

The apartment is pretty trashed but dh did clean up all the toys while I was dealing with some residents' association stuff downstairs. More stuff just landed on my plate as well.

Yesterday I got a load of fine washables done. And church, and caring for dgs. Also made a big dinner (he was down for 2.5 hours at naptime but only slept 90 minutes of that, the remainder was him listening to music and whining that sounded like, "I can't get to sleep."

Today I got the bed stripped and remade, fresh towels out, wound the clock, did 2 loads of laundry. Also took dgs to dd's to play outside and to her library to get some books (and warm up since we couldn't go inside at dd's because dsil is home sick.)

He napped for 3 hours this afternoon but that was after spitting up all over me, something he hasn't done since they stopped formula. So I had to strip him down and his clothes, and mine, went into the second load of laundry. It was a busy three hours with multiple phone calls (and me flipping laundry) so I only really deep rested 2x for 15 min each.

After he left, I met with the building manager to tour the new social room. Then I came upstairs and sat for a few minutes before being called back downstairs for another meeting over the room. Then it was time (actually past time) to visit with the grands and finally we heated up dinner and watched Shotgun Wedding which we enjoyed. Dh did up the dishes and took out the recycle and garbage (which includes the diapers.)

I'm trying to tidy other stuff and prep for tomorrow but I'm too tired. Walking in the snow with dgs tired me out badly and my knees and feet are very sore too. I might soak my feet before bed.

Blessed: I'm so sorry things aren't coming together easily for you.

Harriet: I'm glad you have an angry spot instead of a worrisome one, now.
