I might make Monday magical because for me it's a start over from being over busy and occupied and a return to "normalcy" if indeed I actually get there.

I have body work today - much needed because my neck is achy, and dh is out for the day. I hope to return to the land platting I was doing last weekend - I'm craving some time upstairs at my desk.

I spent a little while yesterday on filing. For years I've filed our "paid bills" by month in an accordion type file, and cleaned one our every year to rotate how much I'm keeping. It seems to me that we rarely, if ever, have to look for anything in the file. Most of the time we look online to see if something was paid - so starting this year I'll keep paid bills, but no longer filed by month. And I really need to do a full file clean out of older stuff that we shouldn't ever need again - and that would make room in the file cabinet we have to file what needs to be filed. The file cabinet was so overstuffed I started another box with files that we used most often and kept it on a bookcase that we eliminated last summer when the kitchen was remodeled. Do you guys keep paid bills? File by month? Year?

So many positives for bw2's dh to be home - she won't have travel time, he will be happier, the family can keep an eye on things, but I'd be feeling terrified too. I was terrified when we had two premies at home thirty years ago and ds on the monitor for heart and breathing.

Oh I am lollygagging about and it's so nice. Gotta get busy. Dh left the gas fire going when he left and it's so pleasant while it's gloomy out. Our rain is ending, finally.

I didn't post this last night, but I got the ironing board cleared off and folded up. Discovered that magic button that helps it close isn't as easy to press as it used to be. I've had this ironing board since 1983 or 84. I don't think it needs to be sprayed, I think it's just my arthritis.

Good Morning!
Do you guys keep paid bills? File by month? Year?
All bills except one are digital. Those digital bills are automatically paid & the email received automatically filed in a folder each month. I could access them but there has never been a need. The one bill received on paper each month is paid and then tossed into my yearly filing system (a foot stool). I don't know why we keep them except lifelong habits, but they are tossed when I clean out that hide-in-plain-sight-filing-system at the end of each year.
Digital bills are kept in the cloud. Paper is kept until the end of the year cleanout.

I have tweaked my daily journal method and will try the new way to see if this way is helpful. The only way to know is to try it for a few days.

Our feels like temperature is 1F this morning. As I was taking DD11 to school the moisture started falling. Within 10 minutes everything was covered with ice. Then it stopped. Now what? The kids are already at school with the weather prediction saying we won't be getting ice. Do they cancel school 10 minutes after it started and try to get the kids home safely or wait? I'm glad I'm not the school official who has to make this decision.

Morning y'all....

This morning keeps rolling along. Just got back from my class. Woke up early, got dressed and bed made before 7. Came home and took a shower and am now drinking my second cup of coffee. Sweetie and I are going to see Avatar later this afternoon and it is in the mall area where Home goods is located. I see some shopping in my future as well.

I am letting my hair, which is about 2 inches below my shoulder now, dry naturally. It seems the longer it grows the more curly it gets. Learned long ago, short hair and humidity don't mix and in the past I just ended up pulling my hair back in a low pony tail. Living in the desert with low humidity meant every day was a good hair day!

Twins...I don't keep a copy of my bills and haven't for years. Mostly because I pay everything online with my credit card. However I do keep a paper page, yes I'm old fashion, where I record my monthly expenses. Right now I am going through my credit card charges and making paper copies of my expenses caused by the hurricane. Sweetie, on the other hand, has an excel sheet in which he records all of his expenses according to what they are, the date and the amount. He's done that for years.

Cathy, heres a laugh for you. When my mom dies one of the things I shipped home was her ironing board. It was given to her by my dad's grandmother, my great grandmother, as a shower present. I've always loved it because it is very heavy and never wobbles when I use it and its over 75 years old. Back then they built things to last. Plus my mom was a seamstress and believed in ironing everything so I have great memories with that board.

And in the can't believe I got talked into this category, I am now about to start a 7:am fitness class!!! The gal who organizes the exercise classes approached me this morning about doing this. The classes I attend now are fairly easy...they are walking classes using resistant bands at times. The class isn't much of a challenge to me because we have women who attend who are not fit and some are in their 80's. I go because I do get in 2 or 3 waking miles, but I go for the companionship of the women.

Anyway the gal who sponsors the classes know what my workout background is and asked if I would hold a more challenging class twice a week. We use videos for our classes so it would just be a matter of me figuring out which programs I want to do. She told me she is getting many requests for this and thought I would be the right person to run it. There's a gal in my walking class that I have become friendly with and it turns out the kick boxing program I want to do is the same one she's done before. When I asked her what gym she was in that used the program, she just laughed and said she did it all the time in prison!!! She was a women's prison guard in upstate NY. I knew that about her but it's hard to imagine her doing that, because she is just a wisp of a women...five foot tall and maybe 100lbs.

Need to get going. Dinner is my taco soup from yesterday. I am saving up my calories because I believe I could eat a bowl of it every day!

Good morning!

I tried to CUOP from the weekend, but I’ve just missed too much time to keep it all straight. I do remember that I owe lucylee an apology for not realizing her DH was on the sick list, too.

We had a good weekend. Much game playing. DH had to run the computer for the Saturday evening livestream Mass, so we got church out of the way then. (The woman who coordinates the livestream would like to teach me to run the camera, so she knows she has a team she can count on. I am leery of this, largely because it would mean being in the front row with nothing to lean on, and I have a hard time standing through all the standing parts without leaning.)

Anyhow, after church we picked up dinner from the grocery store, then picked up DD, who had had a sleepover with a friend downtown. After dinner, we played games. And then yesterday, we went to Dfriend‘s after lunch and played games the rest of the day. DD joined us until dinner; her therapist had advised her to spend time with people IRL and not just online. When DH went to pick up the takeout, he dropped her at home along with her and DC’s dinners. DH was very pleased; we got in four different games!

Good and bad neighborhood news: Good — at church a couple received a blessing for their 70th anniversary! Bad — our next door neighbor lost her DSonIL to Covid. He was 33, and they’d only been married a couple of years.

DC texted to say they will be ready to go home right after class today, so I should be leaving soon to get them.
I've got my country's 500th anniversary to plan, my wedding to arrange, my wife to murder, and Guilder to frame for it; I'm swamped. -- Prince Humperdinck

I took a video of the mess that is my kitchen.
So far I emptied the dw
filled the dw and turned on - dd younger was supposed to do the dishes and kitchen yesterday. it's unusual that she didn't do what I asked
folded the laundry and will ask dd younger to put it away
pulled the sheets and blankets off dh's bed that he can't use until he is off his trac or gets his body strengthened.
I have to talk to social services about getting the equipment I need for him to come home!

Next empty visual spaces in the kitchen - its like we eat and live here and nothing is put away - I don't like it and I need to change it to get back to normal visual clean spaces
it is always a joy to be here with you!

(((Blessed))) Keeping you and family in my prayers as you team up to take care of your DH.

Homeschool assignments are done. DS14 had a great attitude.

I have rescheduled two appointments on tomorrow's calendar. Each appt required a separate trip to the city. I do not want to drive on the ice that many miles.

I have taken all the bedding off DD11 bed and moved it to clean underneath. Sheets, pillowcases, blankets, and comforter are in the process of being washed now. I will put everything back on her bed as soon as it comes out of the dryer so it will look exactly like she left it this morning. DD11 gets anxious at the mere talk about making any change to her bed so I made sure she knew I was going to do this.

I made a pot of spaghetti & meat sauce. DS14 said it was the best I've ever made. He must be hungry because it is the exact same ingredients that I use every time.
