Just before supper time, I quickly took everything off of the top shelf of the rack that is my food pantry. The one right beside it is for spices and plastics. (various bags and tin foil and parchment paper) I wiped everything and put it back up. One shelf took less than 10 minutes. There are 3 more to do.
The cauliflower/potato/onion/white bean soup had too much pepper for me, but I had a bowl full without complaining. Actually I thanked dh 3 times for making supper. NOW I have to fill the dishwasher and turn it on. When it's done, I will do the last load of clothes in the washer and let it do it's thing while I sleep.

Wondering and thinking about bw2 bringing dh home today. I hope things are under control and not too crazy. I know he's gotta be so happy to see home again. Healing thoughts for him in a familiar place, and love to bw2.

Just spent way too much time doing the second shelf and re-doing the top shelf. Dh passed by on his way back to the living room and asked if I was bored. He knows I can get bogged down in the perfectionism of making sure everything is absolutely alphabetical. I have almost everything off of the third shelf.

Day is done.
Not as much done as I would have liked but a good deal was accomplished.
I should never have agreed to shop at Costco on a Sunday. We got off later than intended (dh was trying to solve a coding problem) and then the garage door wasn't working (it got stuck on the way down so didn't go up when you drove on the air-hose-trigger.) We were warned when we got off the elevator and dh went over to check it as a car drove up. It didn't move so dh walked up and pushed it to close, the car drove over the hose again and it worked. Then it stopped on the way down but before dh could force it down a second time, it closed on its own. We got out fine, so it was just a short delay.
Costco was insane, I hopped out while dh tried to get parking and he found me 1/4 of the way through the list. We got just what we came for (and I forgot to get more KN95 masks for dh, sadly we are getting low because we are still wearing masks.) Got home at 3:40, so not enough time to cook the fresh chicken I bought but we also picked up a cooked chicken. Ds was in the door 10 minutes later and then cooked all of the dinner for us while we played with dgs. It was a lovely visit except dgs didn't eat anything until I brought out cheerios for him. It is going to be a stressful 10 days for me if he doesn't eat while his parents are away.
Tomorrow we have to freeze a lot of chicken but as I said, I think availability will be decreasing sometime soon so I wanted to have several months of supply on hand at slightly lower prices.
I'm off the computer now and probably to bed.

Some of the stuff on my desk is completed. Then I got stopped when I reconciled a bank account and found a check number missing. Checked wallets, receipts, statements, everywhere I could think. I looked online, nope not there either. Finally I thought, oh, I picked up my taxes yesterday and paid the CPA. My register is a full page thing I keep at home...so I'd neglected to write it in. No wonder paperwork takes me a long time.
Wanted to get rid of all the stuff in refrigerator, so I made a chicken soup and tossed the bones. That chicken fed us for a lot of meals. Kathryn, is Avian coming our way too? It hasn't been on the news at all here.
Evening chores done. Not a bad day, all in all.
