hello again.
Mom went back to bed but dd older will be going there at 3:30/4:00 to check on her. I will go there and bring her dinner at 6:00 pm and then dd younger and I will go there at 9ish to check on her and give mom her night time meds.
Most of dinner is set up - I have to run to the store for a few things that I forgot.

empty dishwasher from last night and filled it again with dishes from this am and dinner prep.
dd younger is exercising the dogs and took each dog out for training. She has a natural ability and learned ability to train dogs. She is really good with children. I hope she has children at some time as she would make a wonderful mom.

time to clean the counters, stove, microwave, table, and kitchen floors, flip flop laundry

Done with upstairs. Bathrooms, dusted, put away stuff, vacuumed.

Small rest & reset. Dh has decided he will go to temple tonight and I won't have to cook, lol. Fine with me.

After much prodding by me, he has started staggering out things that we're doing to give me a break. We have company this weekend through sometime on Monday. So we're having dinner with friend M and S on Wednesday of next week. Also have another dinner out on Thursday p.m. and then I'm done for awhile.

It is coming up on 5p.m. now in this corner of the village.

I'm sitting for a few minutes after standing for 90 minutes and taking a 30 minute walk (plus the time in the grocery store) before that. We came through a problematic intersection at 2:20 and only 2 cars heading north to the bridge were getting through it each light cycle. It didn't matter what direction they were traveling in, only 2 went through from the south and 1 each from the east and west turning onto road to the bridge. I looked out to the west when I got home and parkway traffic coming towards me is backed up as far as I can see through the trees with binoculars (about 3 miles?) so I assume it is backed up right to its end 4 miles from here.

That's counter rush hour flow but the detour for the closed highway in that direction is 12km so lots of people are leaving the ridiculous detour to out-of-town people and taking the parkway to downtown and then getting on the highway from there just after the closure.

That's the problem with cities with canals and rivers, sometimes you go way out of your way to avoid downtown or some other obstruction because there is never a bridge where you need one.

I worked on mending my outfit for the wedding this morning (after taking until 10:30 to get s2s) and then went for the walk in order to get eggs for the baking I did this afternoon. I made three pans of lemon squares. One for the tea after the wedding, another for a church event at the end of November, and the last for Christmas. That's why I was standing for so long, I couldn't fit all three pans in the oven at the same time. On the other hand, I got the kitchen all cleaned up in between the 5 - 8 minute stretches of not having to juggle pans.

Dinner tonight is leftover pizza so easy-peasy.

Home from knitting.

I've got the fish in the oven with lemon juice, dill weed and the slightest pinch of salt. Dh can put his own black pepper.

I'm making him a package of Caribbean rice and peas. I'm making myself Minute rice with green peas. Everything should be ready momentarily.

Dh has been in a sound sleep since I got home. He will wake up to this smell and supper will be on the table waiting.

I forgot to post earlier that we had pouring rain this morning. It has stopped. We really needed it.

I got the branches burned yea! So glad to get it off my mind. Plus a few trim ends I saved from the deck build last summer.
So I thought ahead a bit & got the snow shovels out of the garden shed and in the carport where they will be in a more handy place.
I will check on the fire in a bit and then when I'm sure it's done will shower later before bed.
Got my zucchini picked so I'll be grating it up to freeze Sat...
Saw the ambulance pull up to the st. behind me she falls quite a bit.
I rested a some napped a little, need to move some stuff off the patio and on to the carport chair frames, patio furniture. Done.
Moved a trash can to the garden cage too.
Checked the fire pit it's about out just mostly ashes.
s2s and hair rinse happened.
Dishes are put away snacked for dinner.
No sewing happened no surprise.
I put light bulbs on a string in the room with the holiday totes.

The 8th, 9th and 10th hours of my day was used to help lifelong DFriend. He needed to have several papers scanned and emailed. He barely knows how to use his phone so there was no chance of him being able to scan and email. It only took a couple minutes to accomplish the task but then DFriend stayed and stayed and stayed. Three hours later he was still sitting in our living room talking nonstop! He never got up once. I don't know how he does that. DH and I both excused ourselves a couple times to go to bathroom. There is no way we could sit for 3 hours without getting up. #OldFolksProblems

Likewise, (((LadyM))) — although your guest sounds less critical. Dh had an older relative who used to say he liked “comers and goers, not comers and stayers.” LOL.

We arrived here in College Town to find that, despite the thank you note left behind, Servpro is NOT at the point of leaving things “like it never even happened.”
The sink was in the den floor, the cabinet and sheet rock gone, holes in the ceiling, covered with plastic, the light fixture in the bathtub… dust EVERYWHERE. It’s a MESS. I fired off angry texts to the insurance people and the Servpro people, and the Servpro man called back soon. He assured me it will all be taken care of, they won’t leave us like this, their renovation people will be calling me this week. Sigh.
So… still a mess, but we will manage.

Late check in. I'm tired, ready for bed.

I was up at 8 and out the door at 9:25. Class was nice. I stopped at the store and got a few things. I found a couple vitamins that have been out of stock. I also picked up a gizmo that might help me, maybe not, but we'll see. It's an amplifier hearing aid that's not really a hearing aid just something that makes the sound louder. I charged it up and tried it. Then I put DH's in my ear - he has a regular expensive hearing aid. The sound was exactly the same! However, this cheap one I got cannot be configured to my particular hearing loss. It's an up and down more or less volume switch, plus and on and off. There's a little charger which is easy to use. Some places I go, like our class Fridays, it's hard to hear. Maybe this will help. When my tinnitus got worse, it drowned out my hearing. This seems to help. One thing I noticed, having it in one ear (there was only one of these) makes it seem like I'm not hearing anything out of the other ear at all. We'll see if I get used to it and if it is useful. For $20 I figured I'd give it a shot.

So "the man" came and looked at our garage door opener. Guess what, it's going to be expensive. Turns out it's the Mother Board...some circuitry that makes the opener work when the remote is used. Same circuit. He tried a remote he'd brought, nothing we had worked. I'd stopped and got a package of batteries so that wasn't it either. Anyway, a little less than $500 to fix this but a whole new system much more pricey. So, next week sometime it should be fixed.

I watered my new mum out front and the plant we moved to the side yard. Then I watered all the little grass seed sprouting. It's sparse so I wish there was more. Maybe more will grow eventually. Hope so.

We had a cat at our old house. He was a master hunter and left us "presents" on our front porch all the time.

(Harriet) my condolences for the odd friends visit today. Especially with having to come up with a meal at the last minute. Wow.
