Yesterday and today have not been as productive as the first part of the week here, but I did use a little bit of "can do" attitude and forced myself to clean bathrooms before I lay down on the couch.
I also made haircut appointment -- I usually schedule the next one while I'm there getting my hair cut, but last week, I was on the phone with the gynecologist office and the beautician had to rush out to get her daughter at school. Anyway -- that's done now.
I also went to Wmart for bananas... and I had a few more things on my list, but I bought a bunch more things, too. LOL. DH would be warning me about going off the list and spending too much money. BUT I didn't spend much over $50, so maybe I'm okay.
I also kept it around $50 for that ridiculously priced set of 3 months planners... I'm afraid that was a silly purchase, but it had been nagging at me for a while, that I wanted to see what all the hype was about. It wasn't just a big impulse buy, and the fact that they take PayPal made me feel more secure about dealing with a company I'd only seen on Facebook.

TONIGHT'S ADVENTURE --
My freezer may be dying. The refrigerator seems to be keeping everything cold, but I just ate some ice cream and it was not as frozen as normal soft serve ice cream... then I noticed the gumbo I put in freezer bags around 6:00 pm still had the same consistency three hours later.
I called DDIL but she said their freezer was packed to the brim... but the "new to them" refrigerator/freezer in the carport was apparently keeping a steady temperature. This was given to them by friends, because "Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If you think you can fix it, you can have it." DDIL thinks her dad can fix it, but currently they are just monitoring the temperature in it, and it seems okay.
BUT... I didn't want my Labor Day stew and yesterday's gumbo to be in a 50/50 chance it would work... so I called dmom. No answer. If she is in bed asleep, the phone will not wake her up. DDIL suggested I call Dcousin, so I did, and she said her outside freezer was almost empty, and she was sure if I moved some things around, the refrigerator would have plenty of room. So I took the stuff I really didn't want to lose and put it in her refrigerator/freezer. Will see if DDIL's dad can come check mine out tomorrow.

We are getting a little bit of rain, and will be expecting more tomorrow. High school football games were moved to tonight in anticipation of bad weather tomorrow.
DS is supposed to be in southern Georgia this weekend, but he said that trip may be cancelled. They were supposed to be playing in a town about 80 miles NE of Tallahassee, FL. News is showing Valdosta, GA right now, and that's a little east of ds's destination -- but gosh, the news reporter is standing out in it and she is soaked and says they are expecting wind gusts up to 100 mph. (Surely they will let her go inside before she gets blown away.)
You know, usually, they put these beautiful girls in a protected area and you can see the rain, but they are still standing there in their perfect makeup and hair... but this girl has her hair in a bun and she is soaking wet! Latest gust was 40 mph.
Hmmm... checking for my brother -- looks like he's looking at no more than 50% rain after 3:00 a.m., and wind gusts no higher than 28, so he's probably doing okay. He is still under a tropical storm warning, tornado watch, and flood watch.
Here in Tiny Town, we are still under flood watch and wind advisory, but it was not raining when I carried food to my cousin's.

I had a friend text me today. She lives out of state and her mom is up here, with dementia. Dfriend was hoping she could find some people who might be able to sit with her mom when her step-dad has doctor appointments. He has recently had some heart problems. I'm about 4th on her list, so it may be that I am never called upon, and it may be that I do get called upon and it conflicts with my responsibilities to my own mom or the dgrands... but I told her of course, dmom and I would both be glad to help out if she thought her mom would be comfortable with us.
Her mom and my mom were the very best of friends, but they have really not seen each other much since Covid! One or the other has health problems that had kept them from getting together and honestly, I think my dmom is terrified her friend won't recognize her, and dmom will be so depressed and upset by that so she has been reluctant to visit. OTOH, I actually saw this lady, with her husband, at the grocery store a couple weeks ago --first time I had seen her probably in years! -- and she DID recognize me. She was kinda confused about where I lived, was asking me questions that didn't really make sense, but she knew who I was and hugged me and acted so glad to see me.
So -- this is out of my comfort zone, but pretty much, my whole life is out of my comfort zone right now, so what difference does it make if I need to spend a day with my mom and a confused dfriend?
Tomorrow is another day.
