Re: Easter Monday /Angel Monday
Good afternoon. I hope everyone had a good Easter. Sad news about the pope.
Busy as always, Peaches.
Ffb, biking sounds much more fun than cleaning.
Helia, hope your dmom is settling in nicely and you’re getting familiar with staff so they are aware that family keeps up with goings on and do their jobs. lol at the peeps, they’ve taken over the Easter candy aisles here in so many flavors. Gimme the chocolate and keep the peeps!
LAnn, enjoy time with lil bit.
Hi Lauralind, happy baking today.
Gma, sorry to read you and your dmom aren’t able to get out and about.
Trissie, that assignment sounds hard. I can’t scroll back to see what all you’ve posted so cheering you as you’re probably winding down for the day.
Kittykatt, thanks for the start. I’m glad Freddie is doing better.

Re: Easter Monday /Angel Monday
I didn't actually consider the family very big I guess but it's growing now with the in law kids and dgs.
House is clean. Buns are probably almost ready to shape. Probably should start early prep but I actually have time.
I should go change and see if I can do something with my hair. Dad could be here soon he wants to do a few things in town. She can watch or see if she can help roll buns..

Re: Easter Monday /Angel Monday
Hello, everyone!
Helian, Jude had picked the best spot on the bed this morning, so wasn't going to risk losing not by moving! Since she was poorly last summer, she is now very much a biscuit girl. I would prefer her to eat some wet food, but as well as being sweet natured, she can also be very stubborn. And I don't want meal times to turn into battlefields! At least she now eats a very good quality dried food designed for cats with sensitive tummies, and occasionally she swill "steal" a little of Matilda's wet food that she's left. The vet isn't worried, and just says the important thing is that she is eating.
Which room (s) are you planning new carpet, L.Ann?
Gma, could you put your laptop into a rucksack on your back? That would leave your hands free to use the crutches.
Laura, as your hair is wavy / curly, have you considered just scrunching it in your fingers to encourage the curl? That way, your hair will curl the way *it* wants to, and imho it's always easier to work with it rather than against it! Seriously, with my hair, ringing or the hot brush doesn't hold for long, because my hair does not like being made to curl in a different nway to how it wants to! So, after my shower, I now just wrap not in a towel, and, when I'm ready, just comb it through and then scrunch with my fingers (there are some good YouTube videos showing you how to do it if you're unsure. ) And then I'm good to go.
When does the school summer term finish, FFB? Maybe that would help DS 9, knowing there are only X number of weeks left with his nasty teacher?
Hi, Peaches!
It's been a productive day, and most importantly, Freddie seems to be improving. I'm still giving him the GI meat, but added some of his "special" food this evening, and it all disappeared with him purring.
I've cleanet upstairs, and by the time I had finished the sun had come out and everything had dried up enough, so I had some garden time.
By this time , DH had cooked supper, so I'm now sitting down with Matilda on my lap. I'm going to try for an early night tonight, especially as I need to be OTD early tomorrow.

Bama, I have that issue too! It's usually under kitchen appliances.Bama wrote: Mon Apr 21, 2025 2:09 pm Wipe down dining room, tidy, scoop under console for anything cats have pushed underneath

Re: Easter Monday /Angel Monday
WTG, guys!
Lol kittykatt, today’s prizes were 2 churus, a crushed water bottle (Daisy thinks they’re toys so if your plastic bottle crinkles she runs over and waits for you to crush and throw it, she used to fetch so you’d throw it again but now she hoards them), a straw, and a small dog treat. If not for cat chores, what would we do with all of our spare time?
Updating my list and getting a snack.

Re: Easter Monday /Angel Monday
Bama, LOL! I can raise you dessicated pieces of cat biscuit, which are usually pounced on and devoured as though they are the greatest delicacy!
Tomorrow's important list:
7.30 am OTD for dentist appointment (just a check up) at 8.30 am (need to find parking)
Remember to take the towels that Freddie was sent home with and we've washed ready for return
Freddie's insurance documents
Thank you card for emergency vet (they really did go above and beyond with Freddie, and he was being soooo difficult!)
After dentist and while I am in town - M& S Foodhall for box of individually wrapped chocolates for emergency vet team
Drive to vet
Hand over chocolates and card
Return towels
Sort out Freddie's bill with receptionist (I'm hoping M will be there, as she's good at the paperwork side. We've already paid the "excess" on the insurance with all of Freddie's meds, but now he's over 10 yo we have to pay an additional 20% of the bill, and I didn't remember this on Sunday
( in all fairness , I was worried and stressed, and they were very busy), so although the insurance will be paying the vet direct, there'll still be an outstanding sum they won't pay, and I need to settle that asap. M is very good at calculating that kind of thing!
Can I get to garden centre afterwards to pick up some geraniums and begonias?
Drive home!
Housework/gardening etc
(I'll get my walk in walking through town and round the garden centre)
6.30 pm DH has choral

That’s sweet of you to send a card to the vet. I doubt they get recognition from some clients. I’m blessed to have a really nice vet now.
