Finally getting here. I think I'm too far behind to send individual greetings. It is 4:15 pm here.

This morning, we were all up and out the door by 8 a.m. to visit the Hoh Rainforest. We got there at 9:20 and sat in line for about 10 minutes, not too bad. It was really pretty, almost other-worldly with the huge mossy trees, nurse logs. I've read that the Twilight movies were filmed in this area. The weather was sunny and almost too hot! We noticed 2 Dutch families on the trail. I think I heard a woman with a British accent, and there were a few Chinese families there as well. We got home around 1:35 pm. I had lunch and worked on putting out a fire at work. AC is overwhelmed; she has a lot going on at work + leading the statewide professional org + her mother is getting an experimental treatment for cancer and is not responding well and is back in the hospital. :( AC asked me to help teacher HG who is teaching one of our course packs this session and wants more exercises for a specific practice. I agree it is very minimal; I don't think I created that exercise, but during the editing process, we were all getting tired by the end (this was the last one), and beefing up this exercise fell through the cracks. I gave her some ideas to expand it using the model essays on hand + the students' own writings. She will come back to this in the morning - but I'm 3 hours behind so I'm not sure I'll be able to respond in time. Before we left for the rainforest, I put out another fire by helping teacher LH understand why she needs to submit a PDF of her session attendance sheet even if some of the students have moved on from the school.

We are all tired and vegging right now. The girls have the crockpot going with Chinese (?) beef and broccoli for tonight's dinner. :)

Dh is researching the mountain hikes to see if we go tomorrow or on Friday en route home. . . .

Kittykatt, thanks for sharing your day with us.
trissie, thanks for the always interesting topic of the day. I sometimes follow it up with a littl sleuthing myself, just because it sparks an interest. Fro what i read, rabbit was sort of a slur, implying that the Welsh couldn't even kill a rabbit, so they substituted cheese. I hope you can rescue wahtever needs rescuing in the next few days. Yes, your kids are getting old enough to do a little fending for themselves.
Hi Peaches, you have a long list as always.
Doggedly, welcome home to your well deserved time off. And of course congratulation for passing the inspection - of course we knew you would.
L.ann, it's good for the cousins to be together for a while. And I think the 12 year old can do some things to entertain Little Bit for you. The other, the grandson is her brother, right? You are going to be a very busy grandma for a few weeks, especially starting off sleep deprived.
helian, I don't onw if you posted earlier, and I can't scroll back that far, but I hpe you are continuing to have a good vacation. --- Oh, now I see that you have posted. Looks like an interesting day, and good activity/ hiking event.

I ate lunch with mother - it was good and I'm not hungry for supper. We went to an afternoon program, where they had fudge and ice cream drumsticks. She enjoyed that.
I tried to sort through her sox - I went there with 5 or 6 unmatched ones, matched 1 or 2, but came home with 9! Several unmatched ones had beeen paired.
2nd lol is in the dryer, 3rd will go into the washer when I get home from emptying her dehumidifier, taking in her mail, and bringing a clothes basket full of "stuff" that belongs to her house, out of my kitchen. m
And a short stop to visit dfBS. She has 2 cats, and I found a small can of catfood when cleaning at mother's yesterday.
Then return to my house to work in sewing room, where I had so many box elder bugs last winter - and it's time to vacuum up any dead remnants, and maybe clean/ straighten up a bit.
Then open up my sewing machine and fix the binding on her yellow blanket.
while vacuuming, I discovered a skein of pink yarn that I need to finish mother's prayer shawl :)
There's never an end!
And I need to find 2, half hour segments to do some sit-down exercises to get some activity but stay off my feet/ foot.

L.ann, get a good night sleep! You have earned it! and need it after your short night, plus grandchildren.
Peaches, lots done today. do you have a car? Have you thought about getting a handicap license plate?
Doggedly, what are you up to this evening?

I'm still up, having vacuumed dead box elder bugs and washing laundry from mother at NH. Some aides must just think that if it has been worn it must need washing, soiled or not. There was a huge basket today, some of it not soiled at all, but I washed it anyway, since I had it home. I put some of my clothes in together with hers, to make enough for a good load. Otherwise my loads for myself are usually very small. Matched on more sock!
Most of the bugs are vacuumed up - a very few in corners taht will need the attachment.
Next up is to open my sewing machine and repair mom's blanket.
When I return this one, I will take home another one that she spilled cocoa on. Then might I be caught up for a few days?

The "bugs" are on the sewing room end of my basement, so I am glad to be starting on getting that back to neat - a long ways to go, but at least a little start. A few items there need minor mending.
WEll, time to head back there, so I can get it done before midnight!

Lol Gma, I was so tired after work that I fell asleep watching Wycliff. After two tries, I have concluded that the husband did it and just slept. We all have our own way of relaxing, I guess.
